Remind me again what Christmas is all about.........I seem to remember something about peace on earth and goodwill toward men? There are obviously a huge number of uninformed people out on the roads and shopping today! Even the grocery store was bad--you'd think we were expecting a blizzard!!!! I gave up and still have nothing to give DH for Christmas. Anybody got any brilliant ideas??

Karen, I know exactly how you feel. My son (now 23) has ADHD and I spit fire many times trying to educate people and just get him through adolescence!

Kim, there have been no announcements about a Voyager movie. My Star Trek Communicator mag does an update with Rick Berman every issue and he won't commit to anything about the next movie. The new movie leaves an opening for another TNG, but he won't say whether the next movie will be TNG or what. He won't even say whether or not they will ever do any Voyager movies! Typical Hollywood........

My shopping story of the day: Cabela's was a madhouse and in order to get a cart, you had to wait at the register for someone to finish with a cart and then ask if you could have it. I did just this and asked a nice gentleman if he was through with his cart, might I have it. He said yes and so I proceeded to take the cart. Some preppy looking woman with designer clothes on looked at me and smiled and said "I was waiting behind him to ask him, I've been waiting for that cart" and EXPECTED me to give it to her. At first I was floored, thought about what I might say, gave her a very sweet smile, and just walked away from her. With the cart.

What is wrong with some people at this time of year? If she had a tiny child or something I might have given it to her, but the child with her was at least 10 years old, and I had 76 year old MIL in tow.

I wanted to say so badly "finders keepers" or "snooze, you lose" but I didn't. I behaved. Anyone who knows me though would have loved that smile. It was a very EVIL one.... I guess she thought that because she was standing there in her designer clothes with her designer bag and I was in jeans and a Fashion Bug sweater that I would give her the cart, but not in this lifetime.

Some days it just doesn't pay to cross me...

Since a few of you have mentioned it, there is a specific reason why that quote is in my siggie. Tomorrow will be the anniversary of my mom's death and I just didn't feel right having my old signature in there. I will put it back some day but for now this one stays.

Gads, what a boring day!! Tom has been shampooing the carpet downstairs... which I'm extremely happy about, BUT all of my living room furniture is now in my kitchen and dining room... I can't get to the back part of my house at all, so have more or less just wandered around upstairs all day... the ski lodge has been verrrrry quiet so hasn't really been anyone around to talk with AND it's cold up here! I just spent the better part of an hour curled up in bed talking to Elaine and now that I'm out of bed, I'm freezing. I guess what I could do since I'm back at the lodge now, is maybe go hop in the nice hot spa... these creaky OLD bones of mine need help on cold days like today. *Kim grabs her walker, and begins the long arduous journey across the lodge living room, down the hall, out the french doors and out to the spa. Ahhh... that steamy hot tub looks so inviting. It will feel wonderful on these arthritic old joints of mine. Now to figure out how to get these support hose off while still trying to hold onto my walker.....*

Bonnie, Go get'em YaYa!!! LOL! The shopping cart incident sounds like something this ancient OLD YaYa would do.

Mom's anniversary is Dec. 29th....and I will be in the happiest place on earth...something not quite right about that. But THAT is the day I will ride TOT for the first time!!!! And the biggest WOOHOO will be sent straight up to her....cause she taught me how to WOOHOO. So tomorrow....do something you love, that your Mom helped you to love...and send those warm feelings up to her. Elaine ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))) We are here for you. I can honestly say I know how you feel right now. I think its part of why I have been so "off" lately. If you need to talk or a shoulder I am here. I also love your quote. It is just so true and part of why I do with my kids what I do. These are the memories I want them to have when I am no longer in this world. It is also why the last words I speak to someone I love when leaving them either on the phone or in person is I LOVE YOU. If anything should happen to me or them those are the last words I want them to remember or that I want to have said to them.

Well we survived the two performances today. Only five kids showed up for the strings concert but for three violas, one violin and one cello they sounds very nice. Poor kids were SO cold because it was outside and the wind was blowing and no one realized it was going to get that cool.

The choir concert went well also. The children sounded wonderful with the big choir during their song. I just wished I could have been able to control them a little better coming off the stage and going behind the alter. They started running on me and dh said you could hear it in the church and he was sitting way in the back. Oh well I did the best I could with no help. Dh said he would help me wrangle the kids tomorrow night.

Elaine you are doing better than me in the decorating department. I have three christmas ornament candles sitting around my living room. Thats it!! We havent even gotten a tree yet. There has just been NO time to do anything. We are going to try to get out tomorrow before the performance and get some decorations and maybe a real tree. I really have no room for a big one. We may just get a little one this year. We got new furnature and someone fed it steroids before we got it and it GREW. There is NO WAY this furnature was this big in the store!

We went shopping today. Man, supertarget was a zoo!! but...they opened a lane and the cashier asked us to come over first. Just gotta love it! Finally put up the tree tonight. Decided to use our small "apartment" sized tree. Looks small but cute. Have all our disney ornaments on it. Now to see what the dog and cat do.

Well, I am tired and have a load of laundry I have to do, otherwise I'll be pantiless like some others on this thread.
