My laptop is plugged back in and now I have errands to run! The storms are through here now...not too bad. We were lucky...some areas right around here have lots of damage. The weather radio alarm kept blaring and scaring me to death...I HATE storms!!! Poor "chicken dog" will never be the same! :p

Betty, my girls are 12. Glad you liked the ceremony...it is powerful and as Kim pointed out, easily changable for different groups and points you want to emphasize. We ALL missed you and your skettiness this weekend!!! Ahhhh....a cabin for Thanksgiving. Now THAT is the life! You have your priorities in order woman...comes with being an "elder".;)

Gotta run guys! Back later!

This is the life!!!!......

ROFL, Jay!! :teeth:

Oh geesh! We didn't get a TRU ad yesterday in our paper. $9.99?? I have got to tell DH about that! That's a great price!

$9.99!?!? Woah! Cool!!!

Jay, they cut the scene with Anakin and your sweetie in the field, where he jumps on one of those critters....annnnd the scene where Obi Wan goes into the library to search for information on the missing planet. There may have been others, but those were the two that we caught. Any idea why they would do that?

Here's one for all you long-time Ya Ya's. Remember my airport story from the old thread? I got to relive it this weekend. And DW saw it too. Sometimes things just happen and you can't divert your eyes. But you would think that at a church function, you'd be safe from something like this. But I guess not.

Yikes!!!!:earseek: :earseek: CHURCH!!! Uhhhh....not sure what to say here!! WHere's Jeannie's blushing smiley!!!!

Aww...Christmas shopping.
My "mail-aways" are done...and boxed up and ready for a trip (well several trips) to the post office.

I only have the 3 ones here to do.....DD is easy (almost all done).
I'm finally getting ideas from DH...and it's all mail-order...Yippee...but boring (tools :( ) Just how many tools does one person need?

Awww...Jennifer new computer. That's what DS would really like (his is a dinosaur at 2 years old)...but it is beyond our budget for him...so he will have to wait until he gets a job and buys his own.
DH's company buys a new computer every 2 years ...and for us that's Jan....but with cut-backs I'm not holding my breathe :(

DS hasn't told me much ...just one DVD collection...so .....

I really want to have everything done before the 23rd when DD comes home and then we leave right after she goes back.

Betty....good luck :teeth:
I was a educational aide for years and got a long term sub job for 6 months. It has it's good and bad. Nice not waiting for the phone to ring at 5 in the morning and to know where you are going and what you are doing.
Bad to not have days off :teeth:

What a cute kitty, Jennifer! That is definitely the life! :teeth:

This picture was taken like 10 min ago.....he's about 3 ft away from me as I frantically try to get work done. Wish I were him!!!

At church?!? Oh boy!!

Jennifer, what a cutie!! Which kitty is that? I know you have a Max....Butterscotch keeps coming to mind....is that right? :) What a beautiful baby!!

Well, I have to run Cameron to town to a buddy's house for the day. Good news and bad news. Good news is: That means I get the house to myself for the day....Bad news: I have to get decent and drive him over there (30 min. away) Bleh.

Good almost-afternoon Ya Yas!! Sorry it took so long for me to get here, my OB/GYN had a delivery this morning and was late for my appointment. I know, so what else is new?!!

Karen--ICE CREAM??!!! That is super fantastic, girl! It sure sounds like you may have turned the corner on this stomach thing. It's about time, too! No one should ever have to suffer that long for anything! Such good news to hear that you are making progress.

Jeannie, do you happen to have any of that yummy cream cheese icing to go on those wonderful fat pills you made?!!! It looks like I'm going to have to start swimming twice a day to burn off all these extra calories! Have you seen the menus for what they are feeding us at Dis Con??!!! OMG!!! I think I better quit eating now, to get ready!

Bonnie--what an awful night for you and your residents! I know the restoration is going to be difficult, but I thank God you are all safe!

All of you who experienced the awful storms last night and this morning, please check in and let us know how you are. I'm praying all is well with everyone. Here in Northern Virginia, we were just released from a tornado watch that went into effect before 6 this morning. The rain on the window actually woke me before the alarm!! But, it's been just wet and gloomy here in my little corner since then. Thank you, Lord!!

Kim--I'm glad for you that fuzz face came back. I don't like that thing on his chin, either, but to each his own. Besides, with Sean, Mel and Patrick to keep me occupied, I don't think you have to worry about me at all!!!

Beth

That's butterscotch.

Oooo have fun with the house to yourself!!! (too bad you can't stay in your pj's too!!!)

I'm 45 min away from the end of my alone in the house time. have to get Emily then and go get our HP tickets.

Ordering Nutcracker tickets for my scouts too....kind of a tickety day for me!!! (Hope that doesn't extend to traffic!!!)

Yep, it was at a church function. More specifically, a church auction. Oye... They had a huge silent auction and a bunch of things in the regular, live auction. The only damage I had: a crock pot. They had a 10 foot tall metal palm tree for your yard that sold for only $25. I came this () close to bidding, but it wouldn't fit in the car. I suppose I could have spent $1,500 on the trailer they were selling to carry it home, but the hitch didn't match up and they didn't auction an adaptor set. Oh well. :p

Whew! Just the picnic/prairie scene and the library scene. I guess that's not too bad. At least they didn't chop up any of the action sequences. :teeth:

Yep, it's $9.99 at Toys R Us. That's better than buying it and getting a calendar that I don't need from Best Buy or Circuit City.

Jennifer, I have 2 cats that do that exact same thing allllll day long! Until they decide to chase each other around a bit. :p

I hope you feel better Kim! Have an Excedrin on me! :)

Ok, time to run out for a bit. Gotta go to pick up some groceries. And see if I can find something for DW's birthday....... :)

Jay what kind of church do you go to? Just Kidding. So, another eyeful at the airport. Sounds to me that you are the only one that has this problem. My DH has never mentioned anything like that. Maybe it is Texas airports!!!!!

Another load of laundry out and another load in. What a life.

Thanks for the good luck Jennifer. You can't imagine the butterflies that have been going through me. I only have 3 language arts classes tomorrow. They are long ones though. 70 minutes apiece. I am doing a Veteran's day synonym worksheet for the first 10 minutes, then talk a little about myself (Ok, so they will be bored for at least a few minutes), they have to turn in a first draft group crest symbol, work on final crest and then the teacher just sent me a worksheet for run-on sentences that she would like them to do in class. They have a huge essay due the Wednesday before Thanksgiving about our community. So guess what I will be doing in Gatlinburg? Reading and grading 125 essays. Don't think I will get all of them done because I am planning to do my Christmas cards while I am there.

Gatlinburg is so peaceful during Thanksgiving. Steve loves to hike. The kids go out with him once because his hikes are all day. I prefer walks in the woods that last an hour. The cabin where we are staying has a swing on the front porch. We stay at the same place most of the time. Mary Ann, my SIL, was married to my brother, Gary. He died suddenly back in 92. She met this wonderful guy named Bill. He was also a Cincinnati Policeman and knew my brother. He met Mary Ann while he was doing security work where she worked. She is such a wonderful person. When she and Bill wanted to get married, they got married in Gatlinburg in one of those little chaples and guess who the only guests were. It was me and my other living brothers. I told you whe was special. We used to meet in Gatlinburg every other year for Thanksgiving because we all lived in different states. My father was raised in Tennessee and we all just love it there. Last year we cancelled because my brother, Jim, had just died two months before and Steve was out of a job. This year has found my 2 remaining brothers in situations where they can't make it to Gatlinburg. But the memories of Thanksgivings past are rich there and it is so relaxing right before the holidays to have those memories.

OK, so now I have brought everyone down. Sorry. I am just so excited about going. I alway leave Gatlinburg ready for Christmas.

Jennifer which kitty is that?

Hi Nancy. So how did you like the 6 month sub position? Mine is for 3 months. I am teaching five 7th grade Language Arts classes and 1 health class.

Hey guys! I'm back - briefly! Had almost 30 pages to catch up on.

I've been working since the weekend on a ton of office paperwork/forms. I am still not caught up.:(

We got hit hard with the storms last night as well - my DS's Youth Group had just finished up with a town Scavenger Food Hunt for the local Food Pantry when the lightning and rain started. We just beat it home!

I got DD and her BF press passes to the Goo Goo Dolls concert at the University. They had a blast, BF got to take a camera in and got some really great shots. Now DD has to write up a newspaper story. Thankfully the electricity stayed on during the storm for the concert. Just a few miles up from us there were a couple of tornados that touched down.

Glad to hear that all the Ohio YaYas are safe.

Karen, so happy to hear that you're able to eat!

Betty, I missed something while trying to catch up - who are the orphans? And why do we get them??

I am almost ready to send out my ornaments for the DIS and YaYa Exchanges. I am really stressing that I did a lousy job of selecting them. (I'm slightly neurotic!)

Ohhhhh, I want Tom Selleck, too!!:Pinkbounc
Pam

Oh Pam you don't need to stress about your ornament. I am sure that whatever you got for your exchangee is absolutely perfect. Can't imagine Wonder Wench buying anything that wasn't perfect.

Oh, the orphan thing. I just caught up myself this morning from the weekend mothiness of the Ya Ya's. Jeannie, bless her little heart, started a list of the boys with their matching Ya Ya. She came up with a few too many boys. I think there were 19 men for 17 Ya Ya's. She didn't have me down for any boy. Imagine that!!!!! Anyway, she wanted to know who the Boy Hogs were. I just wanted to let her know that Jodie and I share Robert Redford. We are the Elder Ya Ya's and want to demonstrate to all younger Ya Ya's that sharing can be done in the cottage, mansion or anywhere else for that matter. Of course, on the nights that Jodie has him, I chose someone else. Variety is the spice of life.

Jennifer, wasn't it Butterscotch that took the long trip away from home? She looks just like a little angel kitty. How can that sweet adorable baby leave you like that?

Forgot to say that DD marched/danced in the Veteran's Day Parade and she did a lovely job!

I know from the crying thread that Nancy is a weeper, like me - well - during the opening of the Parade, when the Vets marched and they gave the gun salute, I started to bawl like a baby.......

Also - my great-aunt died yesterday morning. She hadn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks - got really sick a week ago Friday, went to the hospital and they did a sonogram on her last Monday. She was full of cancer. They sent her home on Tuesday and said it was iffy if she would make it until Christmas. But - wow - 8 days!:(

I liked knowing where I was going :teeth:
I liked not waiting for the 5 am call :)
I only worked 3 1/2 hour days, so I liked that. I liked the other aides.
I hate recess duty!! ;)
I was with the "specialty" teachers....so it wasn't boring!
Elementary school.......PE, Music, computers (like I was much help  ), Science and gifted.
The regualr person was out because of a back injury....she ended up not coming back.....but I opted to retire instead of take the job permantently :)
And I didn't like subbing in middle school :( Those kids are a handful! (Of course I usually subbed special ed)

Jennifer.....Butterscotch is a cutie!
My guys (as in kitties) are lazing around today under the heat lamps  Are they spoiled or what?

Okay....break time over back to my laundry and housecleaning :(

Oh...sorry about your great-aunt, Pam. Sometimes fast is a blessing, but it still hard on everyone.

Yes, I'm a weeper......about everything!
I would have been bawling along with you!!

Those that have seen Santa Claus 2....I got teary-eyed during the Chrsitmas Party

Hi all!

Just a quick hello. I have to pick up the kids and finish putting groceries away.

Bonnie, glad all you're residents are safe and sound.

Betty, have fun tomorrow!

I skimmed the rest. I will be back later.
