I look at F&W from a non fan viewpoint, haven't been to one, with DS not sure when I will because of school for another almost decade.

Sure DCA has a lot going on. It's probably too much to consider, handling the crowds in the futurre. So they shot it down before even thinking about how it would really work out. Construction is not the reason why, come on if that was so, why didn't they close down the whole park?

Just like at WDW it is to bring people in during the slow periods. In WDW it takes place during the offseason known also as Hurricane Season when kids are back to school. DCA and DLR still need ways to even out business toward the upper end and utilize higher capacities and effeciency. That is what those races are for, certainly not to encourage running.

I think it's a sign of a problem with TDA. They might be scared of what's coming. They may not be sure it's fitting, it lends itself terribly well to Epcot. But they need more businesss when it's slow.

See this is what I have been afraid of ever since the announcement came out. I can see their point as the place is all torn up. When we were there last week, the main entrance area was completely blocked off and they had us enter the park through a walkway behind the Soarin building. It was really weird! I just hope that it isn't a problems with the festival in general, I mean all the high end events sell out, the demos are usually pretty packed on weekends.

I did speak with someone who was pretty high up in the Food & Beverage Department at DLR and she seemed confident that it really was the construction and nothing else, and that F&W would come back in 2013. They just don't want to promise anything and make sure that Carsland is going to open as planned. I sure hope so, otherwise those 290 points I bought at the Grand might not have been as good a deal as I though. Although I don't seem to have any problems with using them up so far this year with no festival! :rolleyes1

:hyper:

I have to go do :laundy: now. Bleh. I haven't done it in two weeks, so I have about a metric ton of it.

I just got my 4 loads in the dryer. I am glad its not to bad 1 of clothes, bedspread and sheets.

Started my dinner pork chops in crock pot, 2 steaks to cook and corn on the cob.

And now making my oatmeal cookies oh yeah had to clean up the back yard.

The thing is, the entrance route, BVS may be done before F&W time. So what's the big deal with that? It's not like the special event people who work during F&W are now the people doing construction.

I have read that Carsland is shaping up pretty well. All rumors but they seem to indicate it will take a catastrophy to keep it from being done next summer. Something like a month of monsoon in LA or a quake that breaks the freeways. I see some conservative estimates of when it will open and think they will be easy to beat. It may depend mostly on if they want everything to open at the same time and if they are waiting for all of the paint to dry.

At least you can still use them with or with out the F&W festival. How is the weather there today? Here it is kinda muggy and somewhat overcast and really warm.

At first I got confused, thinking you were Dana and wondering how she could do four loads since she lives in a house, but then I realized who was talking! :rotfl2:

Are you having pork shops AND steaks? :confused3

My dinner is essentially made. I did it on Saturday. We got Bell Peppers in Tulare (well Visalia technically) for 50 cents each, so I stuff half a dozen of them on Saturday. I have to put two sets of them in the freezer, but the other two peppers are for dinner tonight. All I have to do is pour tomato soup on top of them and back for 45 minutes, then sprinkle cheese on for the last 15-20 minutes. Voila! Dinner all ready!

Did you recently get rain? I heard of lighting around the bay a couple days ago.
