Good morning. Seems like a bit of movement on the 2013 planning thread.![]()
I noticed. There was so much food talk that I wondered if anyone else was planning on doing a dining plan and/or visiting the F&W festival!!
Yes DDP for us and the F&W festival.
I'll be doing DDP and F&W as well. I know I'm not going to want to leave the park most of the time![]()
Hoping for DDP as well.
Yikes!!!!!! How can you guys eat full meals on top of all the stuff from the Kiosks?
I'm hoping to do PFTS one of the Saturday nights that I'm there. We might make a few ADRs for the days that we aren't planning on grazing from the kiosks, but mostly we'll be eating from around Epcot. I figured just one afternoon/night we could do the potluck thing. Depending on how I like the Special events we have booked for 2011, I may do some more of those in 2013.
We'll also likely want to have a lot of our ADRs at Signature Restaurants more likely than the 1 credit options, so we might not be dining together as often. We like the parks, but can't be as commando as the rest of you, Fran needs to take a nap most every day, so we usually do that for a couple hours anywhere between 2-6.
I only cook dinner in the room once or twice (except things like Destination-D) and mostly that's to give Fran a break from having to go out. If you know what it's like to go out with a child having a meltdown. Imagine what it's like with a full grown Dy*e who knows all the cuss words!![]()

I'm a somewhat picky eater, so there are actually only certain things I'll get at the kiosks. But if they still have the apfel strudel and Nurenberg sausage roll in Germany, I am SO getting that at least twice, because those are FANTASTIC.
But yeah, I think I only got things from maybe five kiosks. Plus, it also helped that Sharon and I shared last time, so we weren't eating all that much.
I am still tossing up between the DDP and the QSDP. The QS will provide us with more flexibility; depending on what Disney decide to offer in 2013....but if it cuts down to one snack, then we might as well be on the DDP.
As to TS meals - well, I am hoping to do some of the Signature Restaurants this time as well, which will use up the double credits...and then graze. Plus, we really like to do one or two buffet breakfasts which will also use up the TS credits. I know...I know....not the best use of TS credits but I'll have a look at it all when we get down to serious planning.
Sometimes we will get something and take it back to the room in case we get hungry. So it really isnt going to waste. Besides being at disney I need to take advantage of the food I may not get for a very long time.![]()
Bay sitting? How do you charge?![]()
I find that 8-9 small plates makes a meal (when split between the two of us). Since we're essentially omnivores that leaves a lot of small plates that we need to eat!
The only place that we would actually get our usage out of the DDP is if we were eating at buffets, but even then I'm not sure we would get our money's worth because we wouldn't eat the QS meal. At $45 per day per person (or is it more than that now?) I'm not sure how we would get our money's worth.
Wow! In fact I just checked a few TS menus and most of the entrees that I would order range between $21-29. I don't like that you MUST order dessert on the DDP, we will usually split one and be fine. I don't think I would spend the additional $16-24 on snacks and a QS location. As I said we don't eat at many QS. I'm still trying to get to the Yorkshire County Fish House, and I don't see us squeezing it in on this F&W trip in October either!
I did mean baby. Don't have full details but it sounds like the mom broke her foot.
I'm do my maths before I decide. There's still 2 price increases between now and when we go. I normally have a look at the menus and have a spreadsheet to work out what we would possibly eat and then decide from there. The only thing about staying at the BCV is the lack of convenient hearty breakfast fare. When we stayed there, that was the only thing wrong with it. If we were staying in a 1 bedroom with full kitchen facilities, we would probably get some bread and oatmeal and cook it in. That being the case, we may look at the QSDP and cost it out from there.
If we didn't have full kitchen, I would want to eat breakfast out most mornings and then its a completely different equation again.
And we quite like the QS options at Epcot. Sunshine Seasons at The Land is great, as is Tangerine Cafe at Epcot.
I hope the mom is okay.
DDP is increasing? Oh brother
Increases every year. You kinda have to run the Disney Fuzzy Maths to see if it works out for you.
Usnuz I knew you were kidding.
I don't know all the details on what happened or what she needs. She seems to be doing ok, probably just worried because her DH is away on work.
