Mike, 10, Loves the fact that according to Disney he is an adult.
Abby, 7, Loves the fact she is going to Disney for the first time, but hates the
fact that her brother is coming!
Get up! Get up! Its time to go! its 6am and we all shower and get ready to check out of the Super 8, and head to the Pop Century Hotel for 10 glorious nights! By 7:45 we had checked in and even gotten a room! 5401! Awesome view of the Hippy Dippy pool, and not too close, but not too far from the noise or the food court, just far enough! All suitcases are loaded into the room by 8:30 and we grabbed the bus to the Magic Kingdom! We get there later then expected, the park was just opening as we went thru the ticketing part of the gates,we see that lucky family and say oh I wish we were them! Then off we go, with my husbands notes from Tour Guide Mike, we hit all of Fantasyland, most of Frontierland, and all of Toontown within the first 3 hours! By the way can I just get sappy here? I have wanted to go to Disney World for YEARS I am not exaggerating probably 10 years, and I am finally here, and for the first 3 hours or so I got teary eyed, just walking to see Dumbo I was all choked up! ok no more crying .
By lunch time we were all hungry, bagels and donuts dont take you far! So we hit lunch at Pecos Bill, well Abby could find nothing on the menu that she liked so I ordered our foods while Tom headed out to find the Pirate and the Parrot, I think we read they had tacos! Well dont ya know! They are closed, when did that happen? I have read every board for months, weeks, maybe even a year! So our little girl was M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E! she wouldnt eat my fries said they didnt taste right, she tried the brownie and said that was nasty! So I went into my back pack and pulled out gold fish so while we all ate an amazing lunch she ate goldfish and drank my light lemonade!
menu recap- Mike- Cheeseburger- Ok, Tom-Pulled pork sandwich- awesome, and Me-Chicken Wrap-OMG enough for two people, but really good! Hey wait why am I eating healthy? So halfway through Tom and I swapped, really he was willing! (after some proding).
After a few more rides we got ice cream, yes I gave my daughter ice cream and goldfish for lunch! She loved the itzakadoozie! Thank goodness I found something she will eat!
Finally we hit the haunted mansion, and the saw the Dreams Come True Parade! Afterwards, we grabbed the boat to Fort Wilderness, I cant wait to see the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue! I saw this when I was a kid! And LOVED it!
We walk around the campground and head to the trading post to check the price of milk for the cereal in our room. Not too bad for Disney world I think it was 1.75 for a quart.
We check in with the lady in front of the HDDR, and get our pictures taken (why do they take pictures in the heat when yall look like *&@#? Who is really gonna buy a picture with your hair all over the place and frizzy? Oh and the sweat, did I mention the temperature today was about 103? As we are sitting there, waiting for the doors to be opened, and a man comes over to our side of the porch and points to Abby and makes the come here motion! She goes reluctantly, and she got to ring the dinner bell, and open the HDDR! She was psyched! Dinner went great, we didnt buy the pictures, but we did get a free one of Abby ringing the bell! The show was great the food was mediocre. Ribs tough.
WE take a few buses to get back to the Pop, we organize the room (or try to) NOTE more room, less stuff! and hit the pool! We get in for five minutes! Tom says Im gonna go see how deep the pool is, he goes under and comes back, and I hear him talking. I am like what did he say? So I ask him whats up? he said there is poop in the pool! I grab the kids and head to the kiddy pool, with them kicking and screaming. After they complained for a few more minutes we head back to the room, on the way I tell them why we left the pool and they thank us. We get up here change around into PJs and get our binoculars and head out to the balcony area to look for the poo, and dont ya know they finally got everyone out of the pool, and they had a net over the poo, and were checking chemicals! LOL Why me! Poo in the pop pool!
Well we went to bed, and OH MY What a hard mattress! I am gonna die for ten nights on this thing, time to think of a solution. By the way, Tom and I had one bed, Mike the other, and since Tom works at a foam mattress company he made Abby a single mattress out of two pieces of foam and she slept on the floor! Over all a great set up!
