So, who else is excited about the beginning of Season 4 of the "L" Word??

The previews look great and I can't wait to see Marlee Matlin and Cybil Shepard join the cast. The new characters look interesting and it is nice to see that they are branching out into new storylines.

I can't wait for 10 p.m.!

I watch "The L Word", but I am not really a huge fan. Gabby loves it though. The Tivo is set up for a season pass. Gabby is on the road, so I may or may not be watching tonight, it depends on how tired I am when it comes on tonight. Maggie

You know? I've never seen this show. It's HBO, isn't it?

Nope, it is on Showtime.

It is the story of a group of lesbians living in LA. Although I wish that some of them looked more like me, ( they are all extremely thin, georgeous, etc. ) the stories are told well. There are bringing more diverse characters as the seasons go on and this season looks very promising.

This is one of my favorite shows. I am really sad, because I DON'T HAVE CABLE ANYMORE!! I am really upset, we are trying to cut corners and my husband knocked us down to family cable w/ no movie channels. PLease report on the shows in detail so I can find out whats going on!

Thanks,

Yes! Tonight! We just got home from an Eagles playoff game party - where I was making my new favorite - pomegranate martinis - for the assembly, so it looks like I'll get to see the first episode of the new season hot off the presses!

Goofy if you go to comcast.net television they have been running the whole premiere episode on the computer.... I don't know how long they will run it.. but if you have high speed access, you'll be able to watch the first episode anyway.

What did you all think?

I liked it - I have two adopted African American children and we had plenty of drama around the adoptions, so I confess I hope they've largely played out the threat of litigation.

Jenny is suppossed to be a real antiheroine this year? No big change from my perspective and if so she's off to a rousing start.

You mean for us to do this in a PM, don't you?;) :lmao:

Ohhh! I am very excited about this! I ( ) just downloaded it (no Showtime in Canada) and eagerly waiting for Val to come home so we can watch it!

I must however say I will be missing my Carmen :flower3:

Hi. Can I crash this thread? I love this show. I was so excited to watch last night. Spoilers highlighted next. I was ecstatic about Marina returning. Sad for Bette and Tina but glad they worked things out where Francesca is concerned. The whole thing with Shane makes me want to cry. End of spoilers. LOL

Showtime, oh. Still it's a premium channel, yes? That's why I don't have it. So, I'd add my voice to the request for details! And no, not in a pm please? :) I really like Marlee Matlan!

You are more than welcome to crash!

We've had some folk who are very talented in the department of recapping episodes in the past but I haven't seen them post lately.

Anyone else want to give it a go?

Does anyone know why Carmen left the show?

Ah! It's kind of a she said, uhm, she said situation! According to most sources, our Carmessita was written off last season (as was Dana/Erin Daniels) after voicing her desire to be released from her contract just in time for network pilot season (she appeared on the now cancelled 'Teachers', Erin daniels in a yet to be picked up pilot 'Julie Reno, Bounty Hunter'). But the official line from the producers is that both their story arcs had been planned that way from the beginning.

How did everyone feel about the *surprise* guest near the end of the episode ?

SHE is exactly my type - or the closest to it on the show - so I was thrilled!!!

Well, OK, I have another type too ... but she is certainly one of them!:rolleyes1

I hear ya sister!!!!!

Is it just me or did she look suspiciously, how shall we say, 'refreshed' ? Her face seemed a whole lot tighter and her eyebrows a whole heck higher than I remember....Whatevs, she looked GREAT...

Ooooh, you have a much keener eye for detail than moi, but you are correct, she looked tres magnifique!!!

Loved the lawyer scene, Jane Lynch is fab. For those needing details, she basically told Bette & Tina how wonderful their custody battle would be, and how much attention it would get in the media and from far right wack jobs. In the next scene Tina was at Bette's house picking up the baby and discussing who gets her when.

Also like the whole Papi thing. On Alice's website, detailing who slept with who, someone has shown up with more connections than Shane. That should be interesting.

And I love Helena cut off from her mom's money. She had to be told how normal people get home from the airport.. no limo, no car?

I'll be surprised if Max is back next season, he seems to be going the way of Tim.

I am so excited about the new season!! Not overly impressed with the premiere but looking forward to it none the less!! What did everyone else think?
