Stripped down to the floor joists and the studs. Huge mess. Its like camping! Dust everywhere.

One of the squares in the coffered ceiling is almost complete. Needs some "cosmetics", nail holes filled, etc. But I am really going to love it. Glad to get rid of the cedar ceiling a pine beams! We still have weeks to go.

Just think how much you'll enjoy it once it's all finished! It must be hard living amidst all the dust and noise.

Your ceiling looks really nice! It was a good move...

Your DH looks relatively peaceful.

Looks good so far. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I can't wait to see the final pictures.

Me neither. Right now I still have a sink and a dishwasher so I can wash glasses, silverware, etc. This coming week? I think it all goes away. The cabinet guy mismeasured one wall so we had to order three more pieces. They don't come in until August 3. We can't call for a granite template until then, which to me means, mid August at least until I get a counter. Then the floors have to be refinished at some point. Maybe in between the cabinets being done and the counter? Or at the very end? The tile backsplash will be the last thing to go up. I want to be sure I like the tile I picked out after the granite is in.

Your kitchen is going to be beautiful when finished.:thumbsup2

Looks absolutely beautiful (the ceiling, lol) so far!!! You'll love it!

Very exciting! We will be doing our kicthen soon. Should have been done by now...but budget constraints have made it impossible. *sob*

Have you ever been to gardenweb.com? Go to the home forums, then to the kitchens board. I cannot BELIEVE the wisdom and help on that site.

Keep posting pics, please!

At least you have that beautiful ceiling to show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I pretty much had my plan locked in by the time I actually found that site, but I have gotten some good ideas there, and also from friends who redid theirs in the form of, "what did you do that you wished you didn't." and "what did you not do that you wished you did'.

One very basic thing was a detergent dispenser built into the granite near the faucet. I have one. I hated it because I had to crawl under the sink, unscrew the bottle and screw it back on. When I mentioned that to one of my friends she said that the new ones just require lifting off the top and filling. Heck, that's easy! Another thing that I already learned from my addition and the dark granite we had installed on a couple of counters; NEVER WILL I GET DARK GRANITE AGAIN. We had uba tuba and it shows every spec of dust, coffee rings, etc. I went with a very light granite this time. I think toast crumbs will get lost on it.

Looks great! When we renovated our kitchen, it took 9 months! We were sick to death of take out but loved the new kitchen.
