The joys of spreading the magic

The first day of our last trip, we found four fast passes for Buzz on top of a garbage can. We had been contemplating the very very long line and just happened to spot them. We took two and rode and then as we were walking back saw that the other two were about to be swept up by a CM so took those too and had another ride. Even though the garbage can was right beside the line no one else took them!

We gave away a couple fast passes to some teenaged girls who were standing at the end of a very long line for Indy. Unlike a group about ten ahead of them, they were waiting patiently and politely and were ecstatic about getting to skip the line.

And how did/do you get them?

Don't worry about it, you won't be getting one if you don't already know how to get them. Sorry.

PrincessRow told me how she got her's, but she told me privately, so I won't share how.

Oh I know how to get them.... I was just wondering who she goes with!

:confused3 I Googled it-just a rumor. If it were a valid option for certain conditions-information would be out there-so i say baloney;)

My uncle is the CEO of Universal Studios and good friends with Bob Iger. :goodvibes
We get those passes most of the time when we go. Not always but they are a huge help!

A guest brought all the balloons the vendor had in DCA and just gave them away to random people for fun...

That's so cool!

One time as we were walking to the gate someone gave us 3 books of those tickets that have the Aladdin preferred seating, Toontown Morning Madness, etc. We used 2 of the Aladdin ones on a different trip and then gave the other Aladdin one and the 3 toontown tickets to the people waiting on the lists here on the Disboards. It was fun to get some magic and then be able to give some magic away too.

On my last trip to DL I had just managed to catch this CM who was about to leave the shop I was in. After asking to look at her pins I chose the one I wanted and had just turned around when I heard someone say softly, "Oh. That was the one I wanted."

I turned around to see a mother/ 10 year old daughter duo and without almost a thought offered the pin to them for trade. They seemed quite surprised and asked me if I was sure. I said yes and after looking at her lanyard for a moment the mother offered me her 'dreams' pin. Then I was the one who was surprised :goodvibes

I still have it and I don't think I'd ever sell/trade it because every time I look at it, I know I made someone's day. Just as they made mine :)

We do that with FPs all the time.....get too many and don't use them so we give them away, or get them on our last day when we know we aren't staying a full day and give them away as well. We always have to explain that yes, you can use them after the hour window on them but we always manage to find them new homes. :) It's fun! I love FP sharing! :)

On this trip - a quick one day-er for the Star Tours lottery, so people we had interacted with on the tram had the 9am -1pm slot for Star Tours. We had the 4pm - 8pm slot. We ran into them during a bathroom break. There littlest one was *done* and they still had 2 fast passes for Star Tours (they'd gone on it 3 times already). They gave them to us. DS13 and I rode it on their passes. Which was a good thing, since by the time our slot rolled around, the ride was down for most of it. By the time it was back up, we were tired and heading out of the park - giving Space Mountain passes to others on our way out.

The other thing we do is make sure we stop at City Hall on the way out to say nice things about CMs that made our day special. In this case, since my son has the idea he wants to be a Jungle Cruise skipper when he "grows up", one of the skippers trotted out the whole shebang of jokes, tricks, etc. Really gave a great show, directing a lot of it at my son specifically. A couple other CMs gave him advice on Disney U. All of the one we gave a good mention to had been especially encouraging to him, making that CM/Disney magic come alive.
