The "I've Waited My Whole Life" Christmas Suprise Trip Report-Final/Video Update 2/21

First thing this morning I read the rest of your report! My daughter bought a purse just like Belle's only hers is all silver. She got it at MGM. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful family! I loved reading every installment and seeing all your great photos! Oh, I'm a TGM'er too and I agree it really did help following his advice!

Also since your girls like horses so much, you might think about taking them over to Ft. Wilderness to see the horse stables. We really enjoyed that. The horses that work at MK were over there and we saw probably 20 of them in their stables. We weren't allowed to touch them but it was so cool to see them up close like that. Another horse was getting a new set of shoes. They were HUGE animals! I bet your girls would enjoy that (and best of all its free!) There's a petting zoo there too.

Have a great day!

Allyson-
I have been reading your report and finally finished! What a great great report you shared with us! Thank you so much -- I laughed and I cried... I appreciate you sharing.

Allyson, I just read your post from start to finish and it had me alternating between laughter and tears all morning! You really captured something special in your writing and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

DH and I are going in October for our 5th Anniversary. It will be my 4th trip and his 1st. I openly fear that he will become another Grumpy, but I secretly hope that he will be charmed by the magic. Time will tell.

We are super huge fans of AFV so we will be on the lookout for your video. I suspect that it will make it onto the program. After all, ABC is owned by Disney, so they might pick it for no other reason than for the free plug! Though the video is COMEDY GOLD, so they'd be foolish to pick it for a lesser reason.

Thank you for sharing!:hippie:

Okay, this may sound a little strange but my DS7 has just recently let me know that he has a big crush on none other than... Bashful!
This is too cute, apparently he has been looking at the pics when I have been reading your tr. Then one day he asked me to read out loud. Then he figured out that she was Bashful, and now he says 'mommy, can you read more to me about Bashful?' I looked at him and said, 'do you like her?' he was sooo cute! he said he did. you know the pic of your two girls in the gillotine-like thing at MK? He said he wants his pic in the same spot when we go...how adorable. Anyway, hope it's not too weird that your DD has a secret admirer over here in Ohio!

btw, I loved your tr, and I am looking forward to your next trip - I hope we'll hear all about it!!:thumbsup2

Allyson,

What a fabulous report. I've never before read a compete trip report. I think you deserve a trip with the kids every March! Seventeen days in a long time to be home with three!

We did the math wrong, he is gone 18 days! :scared1: Yes I think you are on to something, I could definately do a trip each March!

Thanks for reading!

I am a late arrival to your trippie because I've been working on finishing mine! I'm on page 13 and enjoying every minute of it! We were there Dec. 17-24 and actually at the same parks on the same day a couple of times! The weather was perfect, wasn't it? And your video is hilarous! It brought a smile to my daughter's face tonight (and she's not feeling real well at the moment) so that was nice! Can't wait to get back to reading more!!
The weather was truly picture perfect, it couldn't have been better! So glad you found my report and have enjoyed it!

Ditto,

I copied your cartoon and just printed it out. I am taping it to my bathroom mirror. My kids think I am absolutely nuts being a germaphobic-but the kicker is I saw 3 different Dr's this past week-for different stupid things. I just want to ignore everything cause I going to WDW, I don't care if my iron count is 8.25 I'm going to WDW, I'll deal when I get back.

Love the pictures of all your children. You should have gotten in the pictures more, but I know what it is like being the photographer in the family and staying behind the camera. Did you do any photopass pictures?

Sorry I haven't posted since the beginning, but I had an enjoyable 2 hour read, while the rest of my family watched some stupid movie.

I just found your TR about an hour and a half ago..I'm only on page 10, but I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying reading it. it's almost 1am here, (I live right outside of Scranton, and yes, I LOVE The Office), I so I will continue reading tomorrow!

Your children are beautiful! your husband reminds me of mine...I think he only agreed to go in Dec so I would stop pestering him to go.

Glad you lifted the cartoon while it was there. The DIS police got me and told me it was too big. I resized but it was then too small to even read so I just took it off. I see other siggies with VERY LARGE pictures so I am not sure why they were out to get me. It was a cute cartoon huh?

And yes we did Photopass but only had 50 pictures on it so I didn't buy it. A lot of them were the same (you know how they take a few each time) and in a quite a few we were facing the sun and someone was squinting. I viewed them online, I think they expire in a few days, and I might go back and maybe order one if I can find a really good one.

Thanks for reading!

Allyson,

I finished your report a few days ago, but haven't had time to post. Thank you so much for writing this. I enjoyed it so much! Both of my kids have now seen the video, and lots of the pictures, too. Though they liked the idea of missing school for a Disney trip, I had a tough time convincing them that the "instead of Christmas gifts" part was a good idea!! But they are older, too, so perhaps that's the problem.

That picture of your son with the suitcase says it all, doesn't it? It's adorable and sweet and so sad all at the same time!!

I'm happy that your trip was all you hoped it would be, and totally support your decision (surprised? I think not...) to take another trip with the kids. Certainly sounds to me like you are entitled to it. And the older they get, the easier it is to do! Hmmm, annual tradition? Sounds good to me!!!

Thanks again for a great read!

Sorry about the cartoon, my whole family really enjoyed it this morning. I taped it to the bathroom mirror. I don't get that whole picture sizing thing, if I post a picture, I send it to tech and tell them to size it. If it comes back to small I delete it too. I'm getting a new digital for our trip, so hopefully I will figure out all that sizing stuff. And I love that picture of your family where they are in color and the background is in black/white.

No problem - I know he probably would be a little embarrassed that I shared but I thought it was just too cute not to. :goodvibes

And of course, I've really enjoyed reading the report! :cheer2:

I love your report. Our kids are the exact same age, so it's great for me to see what your gang did or did not enjoy. We are going back for our second trip in June. Thanks so much!!!

I have just started to plan my first trip with DH to Disney World and found DISboards through a friend on another board.

I LOVED YOUR trip report and am now even more excited to plan mine!

I love your reveal to your kids and love the comments your husband makes!

I really loved reading your trip report. :surfweb: We did a lot of similar things on our trip the week after Christmas but it was really crowded for us.

I noticed the oval sign at the tunnel for the first time in December and I love your photo of it. I have been wishing I had a picture of it since I came back. I hope you don't mind if I use it as my wallpaper?:goodvibes

The photo of your family with the castle is priceless! It looks beautiful with the black and white!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

I loved your TR! We are going December 15-22 2007, so it was especially helpful to see about waits and crowd levels. :-) You're kids are just adorable.
