Hi, I am on my umteenth time of trying to lose 100+ pounds. My Dr. referred me to a nutritionist, and this time it is my last attempt before we look at weight loss surgery.

I am very excited to be seeing the nutritionist. She has educated me in more ways than I could ever imagine on WHAT to eat. Hunger is my biggest probelm. Once I let myself get to the point of shaking, forget it. I eat whatever is in front of me.

The nutritionist explained to me the importance of not letting my blood sugar drop. If I can keep my blood sugar even throughout the day, I will not have the cravings that turn into hunger.

She also showed me how I should eat five meals a day, every 3-5 hours. Not 3 meals with nothing in between.

Let me tell you, it WORKS!!! I have been on it for two days, and I have NO cravings. I eat until I am full, and I stop. I am not even tempted by foods. My boss offered me a fried potato wedge yesterday at lunch, and normally, just smelling it would make me want one. I was able to look at the potato wedge, look at him, and politely say NO THANK YOU. I ate my plain baked potato and never even regretted saying no.

If anyone is interested in the plan, I can let you know what it is. It is very simple. PM me, and I will give it to you.

It sounds a lot like South Beach. It is so true that you have to eat the proper foods and often. I've even just set my cell phone to go off at 3:00 so I remember to grab a handful of almonds. Also if you eat protein that goes a lot farther than sweets. My mom always has junk around her house and when I visit she'll give me a piece of nut roll or other sweet, and within an hour I am FAMISHED and want to eat something else. I try telling her that too. She is just gaining and gaining and can't figure out why. :confused3 I usually try to have eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast and that holds me over until my next meal.

A diet that REALLY opened my eyes is called the Hallelujah Diet. http://www.hacres.com/diet/explained.asp It is FAR too extreme for me, but it caught my attention and made sense. Basically you eat the things that God has provided for you. Fruits, veggies, Beans, nuts, etc. The South Beach Diet is a more liberal version of this with cooked foods and meat. But the concept is basically the same. It's just VERY motivating to read about.

Best of luck to you in your successful weight loss. You can do it. :thumbsup2
