Oh and I'm not posting this on the CB again but this morning I took Andy for a walk and it didn't go so well. Since his wounds closed, I've been dragging him out for a walk, hoping to get him past his fear. He doesn't like it but he's going.

Today we are a mile out and this idiot on a bicycle has two dogs that are off leash. One of the dogs, a yellow lab, comes bounding over and starts chasing Andy who is running in circles around me on the leash trying to get away. Andy is yelping as if he's being stabbed. I'm screaming again, at the lab, to get away. The idiot bike man finally gets his dog away from mine. The lab just wanted to play but Andy didn't know that, especially when the dog kept chasing him. By now, Andy has peed all over himself and is in a state of panic. I had to carry him a mile back to the house.

I think we are done walking.

...sounds like fun.

OMG, poor Andy! (and you too) :sad1: :sad1: Maybe he needs to stay in and go on wee wee pads?

I got a Canon 60 D. I can't tell you what lenses I got since I'm at work. The guy at the camera store asked me what I was going to be doing and I told him that I'd be photographing wildlife in the Amazon so he told me I needed "this" and "this" and "this" etc. :rotfl: But now I also think I need a ultra wide lense after seeing some of the pics on that thread.

I have no idea what I'm doing. This is true for most things in my life but it's especially true with this camera.

Now I'm envious! Enjoy the 60D.

He's probably in the Bahama's himself after selling you equipment! :rotfl2:
If you said wildlife, he would have given you a telezoom for close-up. Did you get the standard kit lenses or were the lenses super $$? The Ultra Wide is nice - it just takes a bit of getting used to.

Just celebrating life, especially since my very unloved kids are out of the house now.

I'm as unpopular as Snap on the CB and elsewhere.

And where is my parade????

Did you hit 5000 posts as well?

 Hope Andy is okay. Hope you are okay. And I see your other thread is still making page 1 on the CB. :rolleyes1

PiO, one of the lenses was a kit lens but the other one, the telezoom, was $600. I don't know if that is super expensive in camera terms or not. Maybe it is a kit lens also??? I walked out of the place with a super heavy bag full of stuff and a much lighter wallet.

Sounds like we will soon be privy to some awesome bahookie shots! :yay:

Was this a light grey coloured lens? If so, then I think you may have got the 70 - 200 mm f/4 L series zoom. It is a very very good lens. Well priced; but not super expensive. I've been contemplating upgrading my kit 55 - 250 mm lens to this one; but, the 70 - 200 mm f/2.8 IS L series lens that I'm mooning after is about $2.5K.

If you're after an UWA lens, then you need to decide whether you want to stick with the Canon lens or go with a 3rd party lens supplier. It comes down to what sort of photography you want to do.

Ok I registered for a beginning photography course at the community college. I start in 2 weeks. Hopefully I will then be able to understand 35% of what PiO is telling me.

For this much money shouldn't I be able to just tell the camera to take the picture???

In 4 weeks time, you'll be better than me. I really need to think about doing a photography course myself!

When you get home, go check your lens. There should be numbers on it....if nothing else, the colour will tell you. If your telezoom lens is black, let me know what the numbers say. If your telezoom is grey....

And for this much money, your CAMERA should be able to tell YOU how to take a picture! :confused3

What a great idea. I told DH when he retires next spring we should take some classes - photography sounds like a fun idea.

Uh Oh! what are you going to do NOW?

....oh, no...jes' sayin' how I'M one of those 'stupid, horrible animal and people haters', so I was jes' gettin' in line for the Stupid-Horrible-Animal-and-People-Hater parade.....:teeth:

Night shift signing off....:cloud9:.

And Kimmar - congratulations on 60K. I expect that when I wake up, you'll have made up for lost time. :surfweb:
