Kimmar, so sorry. I just saw this post now. Prayers being sent for your MIL and your entire family.

...could everyone please keep my MiL in yur prayers? She was rushed to the hospital [again] with congestive heart failure....they had her on a machine that forces water out of her lungs [and system], but she can't breathe on her own - she's been sedated and is on a ventilator....they've also administered hevy doses of Lasix, but they have to be careful because her kidneys are failing....
Any updates on mil, Kimmar?
I feel like a security guard. We've had some weird stuff happening at the house, so DH set up security cameras over the weekend. The monitor is next to the computer monitor. I feel like I'm in a little room watching everything. Strange...
Wow, that sounds kind of scary. Everything okay? Hopefully it's just mischieveous stuff and not anything more.![]()
...she is using an oxygen mask, but at least they took her off the veltilator - today, she is having a camera put up the vein in her leg to see if she needs a stent...I'm thinkin' yeah...
We don't know what's going on. When I opened the blinds one morning, I found our big drive thru gate open. I called DH to see if he accidentally left if open the night before, but he said he shut it and it was still shut when he left. Oddly, though, that very morning he thought he saw someone run from behind my suburban when he was leaving. He stopped and checked the garage, then went on to work. He locked up the gates when he got home. The next day, we found another odd thing. We keep a bar through the 2 drive thru gates because if a good wind comes, it can move them enough that the little dog can get out. The kids and I came home from grocery shopping and the little dog was in the front yard. Someone had removed the bar and you could tell the lock had been messed with. It is a combo lock that DH always keeps at 0000, it was 9800. Someone seems to be watching the house, and knows DH's schedule. It worries me that the kids and I were in the house that one morning.

Kimmar, I'm sending positive thoughts for your MIL. My mother is going through some medical issues right now too. She gets her test results on Friday and she told me she'd call if it was good news but she wouldn't call if it was bad news because she didn't want to ruin my vacation. So I told her that if I didn't hear from her on Friday, it would be bad news. So she had a "duh" moment there and then said she'd call me either way.....

AlphaMom, that's some scary stuff. Maybe Little B could cast a spell to ward off all evil spirits/beings. I hope y'all figure it out soon. I'd have to have to be looking over my shoulder (or watching cameras).
Continued prayers for Pakey's mom and Kimmar's MIL.
AlphaMom, since you seem to be an outdoorsie kind of person, I'm assuming you know how to handle a weapon? Just a thought. Personally, I'd probably be better of swinging a bat, but wouldn't hesitate to protect myself and family if someone was to come into my house uninvited. Do your camera's have videotape or are they just live? Maybe it's time to get a bigger dog too.I know with Little V on the way the last thing you need is to take care of another family member, but a dog might not be such a bad idea. Prayers for you too. Hope you get to the bottom of whatever's going on. Otherwise, I might have to grab my Terror Turkey and make a quick visit to the Lone Star State!
DH taught me to shoot when we got married, but its been at least 10 years since I have shot one. I'm not really a gun person. We have them in the house, but I leave them alone. DH almost bought a little one for me this weekend, but I didn't want one. The shotgun is ready if ever required (sincerely hope not) and DH showed me how to use it. If ever needed, I would hope the sound of it going in the chamber would suffice. We have used this as a good opportunity to review what to do with the kids in case of an intruder, fire, or tornado. Luckily, our alarm has a panic button and I made sure the oldest knows where that is so she can push the button if necessary. Truly, my first instinct would be to secure the kids and grab my phone and hit the alarm. I'm sure any idiots watching the house would see all we've been doing and move on.
About the dogs, we do have a bigger dog, German Short-haired pointer. Of course, she's mostly blind and runs away from strangers. Quite the guard dog.DH has talked about a big dog for protection, but that would need more research because it would also have to be good with kids. Lucie, the pointer, has been the best kids dog I've ever seen. Just the other day R used her for a chair.
The security cameras are hooked up to a dvr and DH will have access to them from his phone. A good friend is in the security biz and has given lots of other good advice.
Morning everyone! Hope today is beginning on a more positive note for everyone.
