That's my fav picture of them too. I love those two. :lovestruc

Stinks how they changed it but honestly with the right photographer you can get amazing shots. Gino at WL is awesome. I wish I could request him.

Be prepared for a late walk back through World Showcase, when we last did it I think our ressie was for 8:00-8:30pm and we didn't get out of there until around 11:00-11:30pm ish. There was a slight wait for the table but it was a great meal and was awesome walking back through a deserted World Showcase :woohoo:

Ah shopping.......don't be mad if I desert you all half way through in one of the outlet to go chill in Starbucks or something :rotfl2:

I am hoping that it is a party night when we go to Cali Grille, Hallowishes up there was so damn cool because with that view, you can see everything so clearly :)

Ah excuse me Mr you will not be deserting us for Starbucks, you will be sticking it out with the rest of us :P

Sophia, not long now til March then the planning can begin :teeth:

We never made it to Tom Sawyer's or Swiss Family in the MK the last 2 trips! We spent a ton of time in EPCOT. if you like crab, I recommend going to the tequila bar in the Mexico pavilion & get the crab tostadas. YUM!

Taking notes on the crab tostadas...Thanks for the heads up! This is the first I've heard of them...a little tequila, a little crab~~what could be better?

Well, look whose here! :lmao: Yay! You're reading. :welcome:

I'm sure shopping will not be boring. You've never shopped with Joe befor. :rolleyes1:lmao: He will most certainly keep you entertained.

HI Sophia! Long time since I"ve been here- please forgive me!

I have to tell you, the night we met at EPCOT, but bailed on Illuminations, we went over to The Ditch with every intention of sipping a custom made marg, and noshing on what I had hoped to be an incredibly SUPER yummy crab tostada. But I'll never know how yummy (or not) it was because we were so STUFFED from Biergarten that we simply didn't have any room for them. But there's always room for a marg, and we have the BEST one I've personally EVER had. EVER! You MUST visit there, and DON"T settle for one of the weak, crappy slushie ones that they fake outside.

I still can't get over your phone conversation with the CM about the beds. :sad2: What a joke!

That should be interesting to see :teeth:

I know, but just think in 5 days it will be. Did you see my email about the spreadsheet I have made? I can send you it if you like :)

Hi Sophia,
Took us quite a while to get around to here again. Its been one of those winters that I hope spring gets here soon. Glad to see that your planning is going so well. Up to this point our plans are we're going from Sept 12th thru the 22nd, the dates may change some. Trying to avoid the 2 weekend at Disney, its just so packed we can't have a good time. Staying at CSR this year we missed the queen sized beds last year. If we ever mention a value resort again please hit us upside the head.
We'll sit down this weekend and put ours down on paper. Get a list of extra magic hours and plan from there. I hope your feeling better since surgery, take it easy and rest.

Chuck & Mary

Liesa, now I think I need to try one!!

OMG, I still can't believe that conversation either. I guess we shall see when we get there. :lmao:

Joe and I are looking forward to seeing you two on Sunday for dinner. It's been way too long! I can't wait to see your pictures of POFQ..don't forget to bring them!

Seems like we will have some overlapping days this year. It's funny, Joe and I try hard to get the extra weekends at Disney. Sometimes we just resort hop or shop, etc. The parks do tend to get pretty crowded though, don't they?

We're not big on the value's either but I think it is more because of the noise. Seems like the two times we stayed value it was quite noisy at night. We stayed at CSR a couple of years ago. I'm curious to see how you like it.

Can I tell you how aggravated I am right now???

I just started a mini TR from Joe's birthday weekend and LOST THE ENTIRE THING!:headache:

Hi ,

I haven’t had too much to report, which will likely change this weekend, but I thought I’d share with you Joe’s birthday weekend trip. This was a milestone birthday for him. Every year we go to Niagara Falls, Ontario with our friends, E and B to celebrate both Joe and B’s birthdays. We got a great package at the Sheraton on the Falls:

2 nights stay in a falls view room with a fireplace
$40 voucher for the spa
$40 voucher for the Fallsview Restaurant
$40 voucher for the hoity-toity restaurant at the Crown Plaza next door
2 drinks at the Hard Rock each night
2 tours to 2 different wineries in the area

We look forward to going on this trip every year. We usually go for one night and spend most of our time in the casino.

We left on a Friday night and of course, that day, there was an ice storm. We usually take turns driving either our car or theirs but this year, since Joe got rid of the Armada (I am still upset), E drove up. :drive: We met them at their house mid-afternoon and started the drive up. We did hit a couple of patches of ice on the way so it took a bit longer than usual.

As we do each year, we stopped in Angola for a snack, which actually turned out to be dinner. The guys opted for McD’s while B and I opted for something different. B and pizza and I had a yummy salad. B usually gets these raspberry strudel thingys each year so we stopped for those and for a cookie for Joe before heading to the car. I had asked him to get a shamrock shake so that I could have a sip and that turned out to be a fiasco. There were a zillion people behind the counter all chatting about something stupid and not working at all. The couple in front of Joe ordered shakes as well. They made their shakes and put them off to the side. Then, they made them again and gave them to the couple. When Joe ordered his they tried to give him one that was sitting there melting for the last 5 minutes. Yeah, that didn’t go over well. All I could think of was all that for me to have 2 sips! Ugh…….

We arrived at the border and I have to say, this border guard was the toughest that we have encountered so far. He asked a zillion questions and was pretty inquisitive. I don’t mind though and honestly, I was hoping it would be the same when we returned to the US as well.

We crossed over into Canada and headed for our hotel. It was dark out and my camera wasn’t handy so I don’t have much to share.

We checked into the hotel and E & B had a room on the 7th floor. We had hoped to be on the same floor but no such luck. They put us on 11 which was nice but OMG, the elevators in that place are horrific to say the least. There were a zillion people at the hotel and since there is a water park there too, half of them were wet and in bathing suits and jammed into the elevators. Not to mention, you wait for at least three before there is room to get on. Eh, who cares, we were on a mini vacation.

We got to our room and were so surprised to see that there was a tv in the bathroom. Yay, that means I could watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning while getting ready….. Oh toodles……………

Here are a few pictures of our room.

I missed this picture on my last post........

Niagra2011097.jpg

We were pretty tired from the ride so we just hung out in our rooms for a bit before meeting to go for drinks and then to the casino. We met for drinks and our waitress (why do I have the urge to call her our CM?) was super awesome. The place was slammed and she was running like mad. Everyone but me got Molson. I opted for a Grey Goose and lemonade…Yummy………

After drinks we headed to the casino. Since it was Joe’s big birthday I figured he could play at the tables and I would just watch this time. See, I was trying to stretch our loot over the next couple of days because there was no way I was digging into the Disney fund if we ran out of it!

I played the 2 cent slots…yep, 2 cents. I actually won but just sat there and put it all back in. Joe did pretty well at the tables however at the end of the night he was down a bit. Rut-row…….

We left the casino and went to the Hard Rock for a “snack.” Check out their snacks…

I had this instead….after all it was nearly midnight.

We had the same CM, I mean waitress, and she brought Joe this for his birthday.

We were in our room about 1 and agreed to meet the next morning for breakfast at the Fallsview Restaurant. They have the best waffles ever!

We got up the next morning and met for breakfast. It was fabulous. I so enjoy eating here. I was really super careful though.

Next up, was a trip to Wal-Mart. Why there you ask? Well, I had to get a pair of sweats to wear home because there was no way that I could travel in jeans. :headache: Interesting story about Wal-Mart. The first year we went up there we actually went looking for one and never did find one. We were on the road for what felt like hours and decided then that we were never going to find the very elusive Wal-Mart. Hmm, well, let’s try again.

I thought you might like to see the price of gas.

Niagra2011022.jpg

Gotcha! It’s by the liter there. Hee Hee:lmao:

We set the GPS to take us to Wal-Mart. Here is where we ended up.

Niagra2011027.jpg

Yep, the elusive Wal-Mart strikes again.

After a bit of arguing and such, we get a different address and put it in the GPS. See, the store was new so it didn’t recognize the street and we spent about 30 minutes trying to go 4 miles. We saw this sign and I KNEW we were going the wrong way. :rolleyes1

Niagra2011021.jpg

Finally, we make it to Wal-Mart!

Niagra2011032.jpg

Get this, everything in the “George” label. Who in God’s name is George?????

After shopping we headed to the winery for our tour. We decided on the Peller winery in Niagara-on-the –Lake.

OMG, I learned so much about wine on this tour. How to properly taste various wines, how the barrels are made, why they use the barrels that they use and a TON of other information. It was awesome. I wish the tour lasted longer.
