The "I said I wasn't going to do a PTR...PTR" (Sept '11)

I've been watching airfare now for months. Every year it has typiaclly gone down in March...except for this year of course. After trying to find a decent fare for days, we finally decided to combine our airline miles which we were able to do for under $200. Joe "gifted" his miles to me so as of now, tickets are in hand.

Wanna hear the good part? In order to get tickets with miles, we had to add an extra night. Darn, it just killed me to have to do that......NOT!

OH, you had to stay an extra night!!!?? The horror!!! I hope you didn't cry over this too much!!! It's good you had airline miles to use. I really have to look into getting a card that you can earn miles with!!

Since I traveled for work a lot, I have hotel cards, flight miles, etc. Seems that you can move hotel miles to airlines and the other way around so that's what we did. Yep, it just KILLED me to be FORCED to stay another night.

Hooray for booking flights! As for the extra night, sometimes we have to make sacrifices in the name of a good deal.

Thanks. I think I stress as much about tickets as I do about ADR's. We had great fun in Niagara and it seemed that Joe enjoyed his birthday.

So tomorrow is ADR day. I think I'm ready. To be honest, this is the first year that I was not ready three months ago. I've not made a spreadsheet or anything this year....just a bunch of notes in my tablet.

Tonight I am going to sit down and put together a spreadsheeet so that I am ready to go in the morning. I figure that I will be on line and on the phone at the same time. Normally I put the ADR's in order of what I really want and ask for those first and then go from there.

Ugh, I wish I were more organized.

I have kinda stopped even thinking about what ADRs I want to make.... So I am with you on not being organized early on. It is kinda driving me nuts... but... again not knowing for sure on the dates...

Good deal on the plane tickets - I wish we could combine/pay up to our tickets, but here it is pay with miles or pay cash!
So, since I can earn airmiles with my CC - thankfully this year's 3 cruise vacation will help towards a free flight (within Europe )

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, so you get all the ADRs you want - and then let the changing of ADRs begin ...... (if you are a little bit like me! )

Air miles here are transferable but it costs money to do that which is why we ended up having to pay a bit.

Adding a day was such a hard decision to make.

Hiya

Today was the day! Of course, I got up super duper early and way before it was time to make our ADR's.

First, I set up my laptop thinking that I could make on line ressies at the same time.

Next, I got out all my chicken scratch notes and set up my desk.

Lastly, I sat and waited....and waited....and waited....for 7 a.m. to get here.

A few minutes before 7 I thought I'd go on line and see if I could make an ADR or two. Well, I could only make them for our day of arrival...not 180 +10! See, I didn't need any on day of arrival because Jenn already made our ADR for that night.

It was finally 7 a.m. and I called and got the dang automated line to make ADR's. After getting frustrated I promptly hit zero...gimme a real person already. I got "Gemini".....where do they come up with these names anyway?

So Gemini was cool. She said we'd make them all then go back and do the credit card guarantee for those that needed it and she'd give me my confirmation numbers.

Kona for dinner - Jenn booked this one

September 17th

Kona for breakfast - Jenn booked this one -- yeah, I know, we were just there but I have always wanted to try it for dinner and it is tradition for us to eat breakfast there on our anniversary. I love it!

Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner - Jenn booked this one

September 18th

Cali Grille for dinner with Stef and Dave. We got a great time too so we will be able to see Wishes from the observation deck. Jenn told me today that they will be there that night too. I didn't know that!

September 19th

Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch with Stef and Dave

The Plaza for dinner - just Joe and I. We have never eaten at the Plaza before so I'm looking forward to this.


September 20th

Crystal Palace for dinner - Jenn made this one. We're eating here before MNSSHP

September 21st

Sci Fi for lunch - Jenn made this one. We have not been to the Sci Fi in forever. The food sucks but the atmosphere is fun.

Teppen Edo for dinner - Jenn made this one. We're all going together ... Joe and I, Jenn and her family and Stef and Dave. This should be a blast~

September 22nd

Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package for dinner with Stef and Dave. Last year our dinner time was super early. This year we scored 5 p.m. which I thought was great.

September 23rd

Maya Grille for breakfast. Joe and I have never been here for breakfast and I am really anxious to try it. We had fantastic service both times that we were there for dinner and the food was awesome. I think it's one of those hidden gem places.

The Wave for dinner. Another first for us. We had an ADR there last year and canceled while we were there. I can't wait to try it now especially after reading all of the reviews and TR's out there.

September 24th

Rose and Crown for dinner with Stef and Dave. Another first for Joe and I. Really looking forward to this and hoping that we get an outside table so that we can watch Illuminations from there.

September 25th

CP for breakfast before the park opens. I love taking empty park pictures. We do this one every year.

Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner with my friend Tami and her family. I got a table for 9 at the time we wanted. I couldn't believe it.

September 26th

Ohana for breakfast with Stef and Dave. We have not been here for years and I am so excited to go back.
