The "I said I wasn't going to do a PTR...PTR" (Sept '11)

The Magic Kingdom closes early today for a MNSSHP. I would have loved to start our trip off with a party, but not on a Friday night. I prefer going on Tuesday.

I suspect that we will leave MK around 6 to go to POFQ and check in. We'll drop our stuff, clean up a bit and then head to meet Jenn for dinner.

We're meeting at Kona at the Poly. We've never done dinner there before and I have always wanted to. I am super excited about it!

After dinner Joe and thought we'd talk Jenn into going to DTD with us. I just love DTD. I want to scope out any new merchandise and make my wish list. :lmao:

After DTD we will call it a night and head back to our room.

Coming up next, our 11th wedding anniversary ... Day 2!

Kathy, I am anxious to hear what Nicki says about Fulton's.

Worried about the King bed at POFQ but as long as we get our money back if we don't get one, that's fine by me I guess. I will be disappointed though.

Sophia, Nicki has started her dining reviews and she should be coming up to Fulton's soon. The link is in my PTR, but here it is for your easy access: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2728616

I've canclled our Fulton's ressie and we will go to Raglan Road instead. However, we are still meeting you at Fulton's for a drink at 8:30 that night (Friday, the 23rd).

I took some time off work today so I may as well continue. Plus, my work laptop just suddenly stopped working.....

So, today is our 11th wedding anniversary. :lovestruc Here are some wedding pictures:

Ok, on with Disney day 2 plans..............

We're having breakfast with Jenn at my very favorite breakfast place on property....................KONA.... Yep, we were just there the night before!

DisneySept09Vol1554.jpg

I just love the breakfast at the Poly. Joe and my brother both love the coffee there. I can't wait to go back.

After breakfast we plan to go to EPCOT for our first day in the World Showcase. We spend a lot of time at EPCOT. I can't seem to get enough of it.

On our way to WS, I will need to resist the urge to go here. Yeah, I know, it smells like poop in there but I just love the selection of stuff that they have.

DisneySept09Vol1275.jpg

We will stop at the fountain and look at the pretty flowers too.

DisneySept09Vol1277.jpg

Then will will make our back to WS.

DisneySept09Vol1284.jpg

DisneySept09Vol1287-1.jpg

Hmm, which side shall we start on? We always seem to start in Mexico. I have no clue why, but we do. I've no clue what we'll do in WS today but I'm not worried because I know that we will definitely be back!!!

I've planned to have lunch at Tangierine. I've never been there before so this will be a first for us. I'm looking forward to it.

I also would like to see the World Showcase Players and the Oktoberfest Musikanten this trip. Let's see if we get to do that!!!

After EPCOT, we're off to dinner.......

Up next, who, where and will there be a cake?

Thanks for the link. I've subbed and will go back and read!

Did you want to change our meeting place?

Joe and I have started a tradition. For the last few years we have gone to the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner on our anniversary. Sometimes we go alone, sometimes with friends. This year, we're going with friends! I can't wait!

We're dining with Jenn, Bob and the kids and our new friends, Chuck and Mary. Funny thing, we met on the DIS yet we live pretty close to each other. We've become friends and in fact, they were here a few weeks ago and we're going to their place in a couple of weeks to talk more Disney. I don't have an electronic picture of them which bums me out!

I am again this year struggling with my desire to order a specialty cake. I want one....BAD! I'm thinking of a white almond cake with strawberry cream filling and white buttercream. So far I've always had fondant and stamped Mickey heads however this year, I think I just want a white buttercream frosting. I am thinking that I'd like it to be decorated with pale pink, yellow and peach colored roses. Here is last year's cake. It was pretty but man, I hate sunflowers.

I just don't know if I should get one this year or not. Anyone have any ideas of what to decorate it with instead of roses?

After dinner I would really love to take a carriage ride through POR resort. We did this in 2005 and really loved it.

Here is a picture.

I'm trying to think of other ideas to surprise Joe with on our anniversary. Something different. Something that we haven't done yet. Anyone have suggestions?

Next up, Day 3 plans.

Your wedding anniversary plans sound great! I love the wedding pics.

Gotta love shopping at DTD! Also I love the pics of Epcot and can't wait to see it for myself.

The cake from last year looks very yummy. I hope you order one this time round as well :)

Thanks.

I do love DTD shopping. I love the fact that we get AP discounts at a lot of places there too. :goodvibes

The cake was delish last year. I am thinking that I probably will order one this year as well. ;)

Day 2 plans sound great! We are so ready to try Kona in September after missing it last year and constantly reading the stellar reviews.

As long as there is a big group of you, I'd go ahead and get the cake; if it were just you and Joe, I'd say no.

Your anniversary dinner sounds like it's going to be a great time...nothing like spending special occassions with special people:thumbsup2

I say order the cake...I love gerber daisies...they are my fav, but I'm with you on the sunflowers...not my favorite either!

I'm REALLY excited about dinner at Kona and GFC! Both will be new to me! Actually, all dining will be new to bob, and he LOVES to eat, so i'm super excited to get to see him enjoy so much food without worrying about prices! and of course, I can not wait to go to Kona cafe for breakfast! I'm almost positive it is my fav breakfast on property!

I just can't wait for all of it! I may make a countdown calendar with the kids tonight?? we are QUICKLY approaching our 100 days mark

All of your plans so far sound fantastic! I love that you've included pics in your itinerary. :goodvibes

Day 2 sounds fabulous.

Cake decoration wise, how about some tropical flowers they always look pretty :)

You should defo do the carriage ride, will be very romantic :)

Kona has an amazing breakfast. We have never been disappointed and cannot wait to try dinner there.

I think we will likely get the cake. ;)

I like Gerber daisies too. I don't know why but I really don't care for sunflowers. Hmm, what to do, what to do...............

Yes, she did. :goodvibes

Your plans are really shaping up. I say go for the cake. I was in awe of yours from last year... I can't wait to see what you pick this time. :goodvibes

I keep looking at the cake threads for ideas but my brain is stuck on the pastel roses right now.

I think Bob will love Kona....

Hmm, tropical flowers sound interesting too. I just don't know what to do.

I think we will def do the carriage ride.....

Here we ar at Day 3. This day is going to be totally different. Something that we are looking forward to and have never done before.

We will start off by getting up early....super early. The plan is to have a light breakfast in our room. Maybe bagels or something. We will then take off and head to Cape Canaveral.

We're going to meet Stef and Dave for the first time in person!!

stefdave.jpg

They will be on their Disneymoon and we are picking them up after their cruise.

It's been forever....like over 20 years.....since I've been to Port Canaveral.

This isn't my picture.............

Stef and Dave will meet us after they disembark from the Dream

Disney-Dream1.jpg

I hope that we are able to get close enough to take pictures of the boat. After we say our hellos, we are planning a fun filled day of shopping.

But first, we are off to find a closeby beach for some pictures. We will take lots of pictures before moving on to shop til we drop.

I'm not sure if it makes sense to first go to the Poly so Stef and Dave can check in and drop their bags but we'll likely decide when we assess the amount of shopping room. :lmao:

Our first shopping stop is the Mall at Millenia. If you have not been there, you should go. I love that mall. I like it way better than the Florida Mall. There are a ton of awesome shops there. My bucket list contains an item related to the mall: Get a pair of Jimmy Choos from the MAM. :rotfl2:

Lunch will be in the food court. There is a ton of variety there. Joe and I love the Greek Jalapeno. OMG, the food there is excellent! I can't wait to go back!

After we buy up half of the mall, our plan is to go to the Prime Outlets. I can't wait to go there either! I grabbed an awesome Coach laptop bag there a few years back. I also look forward to the Disney Character outlet store.

After the outlet mall, we will likely head to what we refer to as the junk stores of Kissimmee. Man, the bargains that you can find on Irlo Bronson Highway are the bomb diggity! We found those stores by accident and have gone back every year since then.

By this time we will likely be totally exhausted and head back to WDW, unless of course, anyone wants to hit another outlet mall....:rolleyes1

We'll drop Stef and Dave off at the Poly so that they can relax a bit and Joe and I will head back to POFQ to do the same.

Next up....dinner plans....and wait til you hear where we're going!

We left off with the plan of relaxation before dinner. Back to POFQ we go. Here is a picture of our room from 2005. We had a king room back then too.

Xmas05andDisney026.jpg

After we relax a bit, we'll get ready for dinner.

Now, most of you that know me, know that I have never been a fan of a certain very popular place called The California Grille. The last time we were there we vowed to never go back again. :rolleyes1 Well, our dear friends Stef and Dave have talked us into trying it again. :yay: Since we didn't get to celebrate our anniversary with them the night before, they wanted to celebrate with us at the Cali Grille.

Jenn and her family also have an ADR close to ours that same night. :)

I have no idea what I will get to eat there as I am not a sush lover and so far, nothing on the menu has grabbed my utmost attention however I am going with a totally open mind and no thoughts of our last meal there.

I am also excited that we'll be there late enough where we might even get to see Wishes from the terrace of the Cali Grille. That should be awesome.

I just love Wishes. Our view will be slight different from the pictures posted below.

MK has EMH this night so we plan to go there after dinner. Originally I was going to get dressed up for dinner at Cali but if we're going over to MK I want to be a tad bit comfy.

Yay for Day 3, so excited just reading about it :hyper:

Is gonna be an awesome day and fingers crossed we can get you as close to the ship as possible. We should look into where you guys have to go to for passenger pick ups :)

CG will be fabulous don't you worry and you will defo be able to watch Wishes from the observation deck :) Foodwise you can't go wrong with the flatbreads and they have a mean steak dish too :)

So cool you are going to MK EMH, we're hoping to make it to 1am but will have to see how it goes as we are going to make rope drop the next day (but luckily its 9am so we can sleep in til 8am).

Bring on September!!! :dance3:

I've only experienced MK during night EMH once or twice in the past. The last time we were there during MK it was super crowded :scared1:. On the bright side though was that we had our minds set on one ride in particular that night......Buzz. Joe and I love Buzz....a LOT. HE is very competitive and I am not so when I did this before he did, he was FUMING.

I'm not sure what we'll do at MK this night, but here are some of my favorite things to do there.
