The "I said I wasn't going to do a PTR...PTR" (Sept '11)

Hi

I am so hoping that everyone has not totally given up on me. I've been working crazy hours and finishing up my CPE credits. I am happy to report that I am down to my last five which I should be able to get this weekend. Once I send in my recertification stuff, I will have time to get back to my PTR and to the DIS. I am so far behind that it will take me forever to catch up but I am surely going to do my best.

If I have any readers left, thanks for sticking with me.

Life can be so consuming at times.

So today I made my "loot list." I started with my spreadsheet that shows all of our meals...CS, TS and any out of pocket. I have decided that we are not renewing our TIW card since ultimately, we won't get enough of a discount to get what we are paying for the card.

Next, I added the tax and my 20% tips to determine what my total out of pocket costs will be...or close to.

You're probably wondering how I figured any of this out given it all depends on what we order. Well, I know Joe pretty well and can come super close when I look at the menus to figuring out what he will select. And as for me, I can tell you know what I will want to eat 3 months from now.

After getting everything on paper, I did my little tally to see how many 20's, 10's, 5's and 1's I will need from the bank. The plan is to get them now and put them inside my handy, dandy envelopes that I have made for each TS meal and out of pocket meal.

Yep, that's what I did today.

A while back, I decided on window decorations for our resort. That is the one thing that I look forward to when we stay at a mod ... I can decorate my window.

I'm taking two strands of Mickey shaped Halloween lights for sure. I also dusted off my Cricut and made stuff for the window. I strung letters together on yarn, using the colors of POFQ. I did several strands that say "Celebrating 11 Magical Years Together" and also strands that say "Boo To You." So there, window decorations are done!

My binder is coming along, but I still have a long way to go.

The price of car rentals is ridiculous...totally ridiculous. Joe found a deal with Alamo though that was pretty good. We wanted to get a larger car since we have a shopping trip planned with Stef and Dave which I will tell you more about when I post my day by day plans. I am thankful that we found this deal even though paying over $400 for 12 days doesn't sound much like a deal, does it?

Since I finally have my plans in pretty decent shape, I thought I'd start posting what they are.

Let's start at Day 1.

We're going to leave Magical Cleveland, Ohio (not) at the BCOD or Butt Crack of Dawn as we like to call it.

For the first time in a zillion years, well, maybe not that many, we have a connecting flight. Yeah, Joe isn't thrilled but we got our flights using miles so we did what we had to do. Remember, I even HAD to add an extra day?

Our connection is in Dulles and I pray to God that we get out of there on time. I go there on business a lot and I've never had a flight leave from there on time...ever. When we leave Cleveland we are on what I lovingly refer to as a "beer can with wings"....the dang plane seats a whopping....are you ready for it.....50 people.

We will get to MCO by 11 and head straight for our luggage. Usually it comes pretty fast. Crossing fingers the same happens this trip. Once we have our luggage in hand...oh, and get this....I am going to try and fly with one less bag this year ....

anyway, once we have our luggage we will head to the rental cars. Joe has that thingy where you just go to the car and don't have to go to the desk.


If my calculations are correct, we will be outta there by 11:45 at the latest. Happens that way just about every year...except for last year of course when everything craptastic happend from the minute we tried to leave our house.

Joe, aka Mario Andretti, will get us here in no time at all. Seriously peeps, we make it in less than 30 minutes...

We have decided that we're not heading to POFQ from the airport to check in. Instead, we're heading here:

Our plan is that we will text Jenn (inkedupmomma) IMMEDIATELY so that we can meet up and I can get my hugs and such from Jack and Kayla...oh, and of course, Jenn and Bob too............

Pardon the pics as they are a tad bit old...uhem, that is a hint to a certain someone . Also, I don't have a picture of Jenn and Bob but rest assured, I will get one!

After our smoochies are finished, I know that Joe will really, really want one of these because I'm sure he will be hungry since they don't feed you on the plane any more....

I am hoping that Jenn wants to watch the parade with me because I really wanna see it, especially since I have all of the Disney Park CD's on my IPOD and have been totally wanting to see the parade since I listen to the music every day.

After the parade I would love to catch the new castle show. I have not really seen one in years. We are usually walking by or busy doing something else but this year, I hope to catch at least one.

After spending time at MK with Jenn and the fam, Joe and I will head to the resort to check in and get settled. We reserved a King room however I have been reading that when people check in that they are not getting them. If not, I sure hope that we get the extra loot back that we paid for the king room.

POFQ here we come!

Yay on going straight to Magic Kingdom after your flight - am not sure I would be able to do that! Hope you get a King room at POFQ.

Also eek at having to take one less bag with you - does that mean though that you are able to bring more souveniers back with you?

I hope you don't get delayed in Dulles...keeping fingers crossed that because you're on an early flight nothing will have had a chance to be delayed yet

I love that you said you are taking one less bag, you're v lucky that you can take more than one suitcase. Me and Dave are limited to only being able to take three between us which sucks.

I too hope you get your king room. My dd was just there at POR and I am pretty sure that they tried to give her a queen room instead of the king that she had booked. (they wanted to put her in AB and... I dont' think there is King rooms there...but maybe I am wrong) She did get moved to Magnolia..and a king room.

Worried about the King bed at POFQ but as long as we get our money back if we don't get one, that's fine by me I guess. I will be disappointed though.

Most of the time we do head directly to a park instead of checking in first.

It's not that we must take one extra bag this time, I just thought I'd save a few dollars and TRY and take one less bag. Why do I get the feeling that it just won't happen that way?

I didn't know where to start with decorations either. The last time we did it I made my own window clings and used those and then strung lights. This time I figured I'd try something a bit different.
