The I miss (fill in) , no longer served at WDW thread.

I also miss a desert from California Grill. It was called a cappuccino quake with a sunflower snap. It was a cold cappuccino moose molded in a circle shape and the sunflower snap was a lacy suger mold, like peanut brittle without the nuts placed fanning upward in the mold.

The tusker house bakery had bear claw cupcakes. The icing was oh so good.

You've all brought back some great memories!

Loved the fritata at Tony's for breakfast, Beaver Tails, bread bowls, and Tusker House CS.

I also miss the super-jumbo shrimp from the Coral Reef when it first opened, lobster at Le Cellier, and menus with more choices & more offering

And Aunt Polly's..... great place for a quiet snack.

Remember the first reservation system at Epcot, where you talked to a live person via 2-way telecommunications? Way cool....way back then.

Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grille

For you spicy souls out there:

Etoufee from House of Blues. Sigh..... :sad2:

I miss the Norway buffet. I know they still have it but you have to order your entree off the menu and can get the salads, cheeses, etc off the buffet. I still want to try all the different entrees and don't want to wait all that time by ordering them. We haven't been back since. We always went whenever we were in Epcot.

Ring cakes in Norway. They were so yummy!

And, the old Main Street Bakery, I loved the old fashioned cup cakes!!

I miss so many things! I know some of these have been mentioned, but these are all items I miss...

1. The shaped butter Mickeys. Some blame the DDP for Disney dining going downhill, but I knew as soon as those butter Mickeys disappeared from table service meals, things were going down the tubes ....
2. The little key lime pies at Adventureland Veranda
3. The teriyaki burgers at Adventureland Veranda
4. (Adventureland Veranda... sure, it was just CS, but I miss that place!)
5. The shrimp basket at Columbia Harbor House
6. Eggrolls at the eggroll cart in Adventureland. There haven't been any there at all on my last visits, and something about eggrolls from that cart just made them special. And now its going to be selling turkey legs?!
7. The Handwiches! I just loved their name, and they were tasty too.
8. The fruit smoothies at Wonders of Life ... can't remember the name of the place for sure, I think it was Good and Simple ????
9. The Watermelon Juice at the cantina at Mexico in EPCOT.
10. The trifle in a plastic cup from a cart at the United Kingdom in EPCOT.
11. Baked potatoes from the potato cart in Liberty Square.
12. Green Tea Ice Cream at the Yakitori House
13. Decent coffee at WDW. It used to pass muster with my mother, so I knew it was ok. Now I'd probably have to tote a large thermos to get her through the parks.... :scared1:
14. The little loaves of cheese bread from Sunshine Seasons waaaaay back when the Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruits were still at The Land.

Well.... that was a walk down food memory lane! :goodvibes

Remember the first reservation system at Epcot, where you talked to a live person via 2-way telecommunications? Way cool....way back then.

This is one of the things I remember most about our first trip to Disney. It was so fun making dining reservations this way. It felt so sophisticated.

I miss the turkey legs that used to taste like turkey. Honestly, they taste more like ham now. Gross!!!!

Ugh! I totally agree. I'm not usually a big fan of eating meat off a bone, but I had a hankering for a turkey leg on our last trip. I felt like I was eating a bone wrapped in slimy fat and mildly basted in rancid bbq sauce. Nasty!

Other than that, I really miss the Bananas Foster dessert from Rainforest Cafe. Not really Disney, I know, but that's the only time we ever eat there (despite being close to 3 RC locations).

I also miss the meatloaf from Chef Mickey's when it was an menu restaurant at the Disney Marketplace where only Chef Mickey was present.

LOL, I still remember that meatloaf and that restaurant as well. The Peach Cobbler was good too.
SO many changes. I miss being able to make dining reservations on those screens when you got to Epcot in the morning - or just to walk up to a sit down restaurant and get a seat - NP. I'm one of the curmudgeons who think the DDP has ruined the restaurant experience.

One dessert that was awseome was the Rasberry Chiffon Pie at Ariel's (I still make it at home) and many years ago Mickey's Grill at the Contemporary actually had a very nice buffet.

I knew I'd remember something else ... fresh donuts made daily at the Boardwalk Bakery. :cloud9:

Replacing them with Krispy Kremes is a Krime! :lmao:

The donuts at BW bakery were the BEST! They had a cream filled donut that was so good. I was very sad when they changed over.

DH loved the pecan buns they had at POR. He's been searching the World for them since they took them away.

I have only been twice, and I already miss the Tusker House salmon. That was so good! (well, considering it was CS of course.)

Disneyland things I miss while being at WDW:
- The fact that they have no buffeteria, or whatever they call it at DL. At DL, there are CS-like places where you get your food on real plates (no paper) with real flatware (no plastic) and there are CMs cleaning off the tables after you.

- Mickey pancakes.

- Clam chowder in bread bowls

- Monte Christo sandowiches

- A Blue Bayou/ Blue Lagoon restaurant. The Mexican one at Epcot is just not the same :(

Ringnes beer in Norway
Fresh cookie and ice cream sandwiches on main street
Buying a ½ pound of tiny tarts at the MK general store
Beaver Tails
Chocolate Macadamia nut squares at Ohana
That huge breakfast at the Top of the World
And festive mixed drinks made from fruit ….not with mixers

Oh and who ever said mickey shaped butter…ah memories

The fried won-tons at the Lotus Blossom. They were amazing! In fact, I miss the entire old Lotus Blossom menu. It seems like the quality has really gone down.

Prime Rib at Rose & Crown (best meat deal in the park)

Fois Gras Ravioli at Citricos (little bits of wonderfulness)

Banana Napoleon at Flying Fish (best dessert around)

Tanzanian Chocolate Purses - Jiko (these bits of heaven made me cry when they were gone)

Buffet Experience with no Princesses at Akerhaus (still my fav place to eat lunch at Epcot but damn.....)

Beaver Tails in Canada (and those pre fried ones that they would re-heat do NOT count)

A version of this is still available, it's just not as good. I miss the old Citrus Swirls served at the Sunshine Tree Terrace just outside the Tiki Room. It used to be soft-frozen orange juice swirled with vanilla ice cream. Now it's soft-serve orange ice cream swirled with soft-serve vanilla ice cream. Just not the same.

Ah, someone does remember! Remember the cute little orange bird that was the little icon?

I miss those orange swirl things... I thought it was sold at the same counter as Dole Whip. (I am probably wrong, I was so young when I had it.) I will have to look for what you are telling me replaced it.

Although it's not food, I miss the old magic shop, that used to be on Main Street! (Now, ALL the shops are Disney stores, rather than the variety it once was.)

Here is my list:
1. Adventureland Verandah - Loved those Teryiyaki Burgers.
2. CRT before it was a Character meal.
3. Tangaroa Terrace - Loved breakfast buffet and loved their dinner buffets as well (Asain and Italian)
4. Papeete Bay Verandah - Stir Fry buffet for lunch.
5. UK - Sherry Trifles in the small cups.
6. Dinner on the Empress Lilly.
