The I miss (fill in) , no longer served at WDW thread.

The things I miss the most are:

-- the entire menu of Rose and Crown. (Especially the pie sampler). Why oh why did they feel the need for such a drastic change?

-- Clam chowder in a bread bowl and Columbia Harbor House

-- Monte Cristo Sandwiches (at CHH)

-- Sunday brunch at Papeete Bay Verandah at the Poly. I had the most wonderful seafood crepes there one time. :cloud9:

-- Complimentary beef and barley soup and dessert at King Stefan's Banquet Hall. I think the dessert was chocolate mint crepes of some kind, if I remember correctly.

-- Handwiches To be honest, I'm not really sure I ever tried one of these, but it was nice to have the option.

-- Mickey butter In the nicer restaurants, they used to serve a plate of mickey-shaped butter. I used to be horrified when my brother would cut off the head.

I miss the shrimp wontons and the pineapple with caramel for dessert at Ohona. I also miss those Mickey Head ice cream bars, the ones with the vanilla face and chocolate ears. Not chocolate dipped but chocolate ice cream.

I just remember something else I and my kids miss VERY MUCH!!

The Mickey-shaped pizza they used to sell at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot. :sad1:

Why oh why did they stop selling it? :confused3

We used to cut off Mickey's behind first, then his head. :guilty:

Oh, man I have a huge list and it makes me sound old!!

1. Everything that they used to serve at the Empress Lily

2. Everything that used to be at Chef Mickey's when it was in Downtown Disney (or The Village as it should be known) :snooty:

3. Fresh beignets at Bonfamille's when there was only one Port Orleans

4. Chicken Pasty and Cottage Pie for dinner at Rose & Crown

5. The Mickey ice cream bars when it was vanilla ice cream with a chocolate ice cream smiley face and then chocolate ears. Those were good!

6. Eating in Cinderella's Castle when you actually had a choice of food (and it was called King Stefan's)

7. Hamburgers with white rolls instead of those stale whole wheat things. I wouldn't feed those to my boss! ;)

8. Rotisserie chicken and mashed potato at Tusker House. That loss is a true tragedy.

9. I think it might be back, but last year the Jack Daniel's mousse cake was gone from the Yachtsman menu. I almost cried.

1. Definitely breakfast at Tony's...the Lady and the Tramp waffles were adorable!

2. Watermelon juice at Cantina De San Angel (EPCOT).

3. Bread bowls at Columbia Harbor House.

Heheh, I take it my comment about having fun decapitating Mickey in my last post didn't sit well with you?

My hubby and I really miss the Ruben Handwiches! Would love to have them return!

See, I knew someone would remember handwiches. For awhile there I thought I was the only one that remembered them.

Some repeats:
-Having a nice meal at Cinderella's Castle without characters and without a reservation.

-The hot and cold buffet with no characters at Akershus

-Clam Chowder in bread bowls at the Columbia Harbour House

- Beaver Tails

- Tusker House counter service

I mentioned them on post #12, and I saw a few others remember them, too. ;)

I miss the cinnamon rolls that they used to have at the Main Street Bakery. Not those commercial things they have now. The nice big ones they had 15 years ago. It was a great way to start a day in the MK. Stop at the MSB and pick up a coffee and cinnamon roll, they sit on one of the chairs just past Casey's and watch the crowds stream by while you enjoyed your breakfast.

And while on the subject of Cinnamon rolls - how about the ones they used to serve in AK at the Kusafari Bakery. The ones that were kept warm in a skillet on the counter. Nice and gooey.

You're absolutely right. Don't know how I missed it especially when you bolded the word. :confused3

I also miss the meatloaf from Chef Mickey's when it was an menu restaurant at the Disney Marketplace where only Chef Mickey was present.

As another poster said, I also miss everything about the Empress Lilly. It was our first character meal...DH and I in our mid 20's - no kids. We stuck out like sore thumbs.

I really miss Tony's in the MK for breakfast. It was the one place we always wanter to eat breakfast on every trip. We would hit the rides for a couple of hours in the morning and then go have breakfast. I miss the free cinnamon rolls they gave to each table.

Oh, and breakfast at Tony's Town Square. They used to have some terrific menu items there, and it was a great way to start the day!!

OH YESSSS!!! I used to get the friatta and I LOVED the little cinnamon rolls they served...Sitting in a window seat, drinking a good cup of coffee and watching the Magic Kingdom come alive!

Anyone remember the wonderful Fried Ice cream derved at the restaurant at the Disney Inn / Disney Golf Resort? Heaven!

I miss the chicken satay they had at AK at the CS Chakranadi Chicken Shop.
I also miss Tusker House as a CS. I loved the beef stew bread bowls and when they took those away I used to always get the salmon.

When I was a kid we ate breakfast at the Top of the World at CR. ANybody remember that? They had the best buffet. There was even a crepe station. I always had some delicious strawberry crepes.

Crepes at the Land Grille...remember the plush red booths with white tablecloths

That brings back memories. I remember having lobster pizza and the butter that came with a bread was molded in a 3 dimensional standing mickey.

I loved that place! Wasn't there a big ice sculpture there? When they changed the place to the California Grill, I refused to eat there for years in protest.
