The I miss (fill in) , no longer served at WDW thread.

I miss the turkey legs that used to taste like turkey. Honestly, they taste more like ham now. Gross!!!!

I miss those HUGE grilled shrimp at O'Hana and the fried chicken at Olivia's. I heard a rumor last year that Olivias was going to offer the chicken one day a week. Anyone know if that happend?

Egg rolls in Adventureland.

They've turned the cart into a turkey-leg cart. I hate turkey legs.

Sigh.

The Land Grille Room (now the Garden Grille) used to have awesome surf and turf and cheese bread.

The shrimp from Ariel's (I really miss Ariel's...)
Empress Lily
Ravioli from Flagers

Do you notice a trend there?

I also miss the spicy chicken sandwich from Cosmic Ray's

Chicken pasty's at Rose & Crown. Just went away last year between our Feb trip and April trip. We had a lunch reservation and the whole menu was changed- so we left! Luckily I had asked for the recipe in Feb, but it's just not the same making your own at home:sad1:

Two things

One, which was already mentioned, was the Hercules / Goofy ice cream bar. It was the Hercules bar when I was first introduced to it.

The second was a salmon spread that was served at Artist Point. My first trip, in 1996 I had this and thought about it for an entire year until we returned. During our 97’ trip we made reservation at Artist Point specifically so I could have this again. Of course, when we arrived I was devastated to learn that they no longer offered it.

I vivdly remember that salmon spread for the bread. Along with that came a special butter for the bread as well. We were there in 1996 and loved that spread but that was the last time we ever had it. I also miss the smokehouse they used to have at the Artist Point. They used to have a delciious smoked prime rib at one time there.

The most recent thing I miss is the pork and duck firecracker appetizer at Jiko. I blame the DDP for that. Along with a bunch of other menu changes since circa 2006 or so. Evil DDP! :stir:

I am told it was not the DDP, but Jiko's determination to serve healthier dishes...they eliminated everything that had been deep-fried.

Take a look at the menu, you won't find one deep-fried item. Remember the chocolate "beggars purses?" Another casualty, they were in a fried pastry shell. And you have to know that I'm certainly not sticking up for the DDP...

My own nominees are the barbecue chicken sandwich at Flame Tree (replaced by smoked turkey) and the veggie pizza from Pizzafari. Come to think of it, I believe Mara eliminated the tandoori chicken pizza also. You just can't have a pizza at WDW that isn't cheese or pepperoni (unless you try Wolfgang Puck)

And the pizza martini at Bluezoo.

I miss the Pan-Asian Pasta @ Kona. We always made a special reservation for this meal on every trip. It used to be made with a ginger sauce that gave it just the slightest kick. I just craved this dish. Now they have changed the sauce to some sort of awful sweet/sour concoction. We ordered it on our December trip without realizing the change. I just had to return it because it was so bad. I have had better sweet and sour from a powder mix from the grocery store. It breaks my heart but I do not see any real reason to return unless the recipe is returned.

Um...the lamb patis is fried so they didn't eliminate all fried food.

On Main Street there used to be a Nestle Toll House Cookie stand that sold about 6 different types of fresh baked cookies

In DTD, where EoS is now, there used to be a kitchen pantry place and they had the best tuna sandwiches

In MK, where the egg roll cart used to be in front of the Tree House, they used to have hot dog and cheese egg rolls....sounds gross but they were so good

Ooh! I do remember being able to get a freshly made Toll House Cookie ice cream sandwich! I believe I had that for lunch on the first solo trip I took 10 years ago! And I remember Gourmet Pantry at the Marketplace. They did have the best sandwiches. I remember being able to buy lunch and eat it outside. I don't remember the hot dog and cheese egg rolls. They sound a bit nasty. LOL!

I miss the root vegetable pot pie that's no longer served at The Rose and Crown.

Hmm, I wonder if that was part of the lunch special with the two types of pies....shepherd's pie and the chicken and leek pie. That rocked.

Hi Queen, doll! I do miss that egg roll cart, too!

I've had that. I think it's baked.

I have to go with TDC Nala on this one. I hadn't thought about the fried vs. baked thing before. But I still want to blame the evil DDP, regardless. ;)
I think the lamb patis is baked, too. I miss the beggar's purses. Thanks for reminding me.

And I just thought of yet another item I can't believe I missed:

The butter molded into the shape of Mickey's full body!
Who hasn't had fun decapitating the mouse in buttery form?

When we were Cosmic Ray's earlier this month, the pasta salad was gone! :scared1:

I miss the grilled ship at OHana! And I think these were handwiches - yummy little veggie sandwiches at what's now Sleep Hollow snacks - I really miss those! I also miss the really good tuna sandwiches most of the resorts used to have in the grab and go sections, now they're kind of blah yucky!

Oh, and breakfast at Tony's Town Square. They used to have some terrific menu items there, and it was a great way to start the day!!
