The I miss (fill in) , no longer served at WDW thread.

I miss the banana cream pie at the Sci-Fi. We ate there twice just for that pie on my honeymoon in 1994. It was sooooooo good!!!!!

I knew I'd remember something else ... fresh donuts made daily at the Boardwalk Bakery. :cloud9:

Replacing them with Krispy Kremes is a Krime! :lmao:

You're kidding! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I miss...this is going way, way back...handwiches. Anyone remember those? You got them at that little place to the right just when you leave the hub going over the bridge to Liberty Square. Now I think it sells popcorn and cappucinos. :sad2: It was such a unique food item.

Crepes at the Land Grille...remember the plush red booths with white tablecloths

This is going to seem silly but the CS restaurant in American Adventure (Liberty Inn, I think it's called??) used to sell an apple pie dessert that was freshly baked. It was WARM apple pie with fresh, sweet apples, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream. My BF and I couldn't wait to go back to get some more and by the time we returned in 2006 it had been replaced with a prepackaged, COLD apple tart type thing with the most bitter apples I've ever had. No ice cream or caramel sauce... it was just horrible, we both threw it away after one bite. :sad1:

So many, but I miss the Tusker House chicken dinner & original carrot cake for dessert. Also, the ham & cheese on pretzel bread at Sommerfest. The old Sunshine Seasons menu: baked potato/Land salad/cookie combo; and the BBQ pork sandwiches there. MK: the stack deli sandwich at Cosmic Ray's!

The old appetizers at 'Ohana. I think my favorite were those little tiny spring rolls.....

This was a long time ago I think... but they were delicious!:lovestruc

Coffee that isn't Nescafé. It does exist in WDW, but is getting harder and harder to come by.

Did you skip over my post? I mentioned handwiches!

TinandPan You're showing your age: Also just miss everything about the Empress Lilly :rotfl: :goodvibes

Years and years ago, maybe it was eons ago,...long before Cinderella's Royal Table, it was known as King Stefan's Banquet Hall (until somebody realized that King Stefan was from Sleeping Beauty). Anyway, they served jumbo shrimp that was to die for.

I also miss the Baked, stuffed lobster at Coral Reef Restaurant...

Tanagaroa Terrace...made to order omelets, and top your own belgian waffle...Whaaaaah, bring it back.:worship:

Two things

One, which was already mentioned, was the Hercules / Goofy ice cream bar. It was the Hercules bar when I was first introduced to it.

The second was a salmon spread that was served at Artist Point. My first trip, in 1996 I had this and thought about it for an entire year until we returned. During our 97’ trip we made reservation at Artist Point specifically so I could have this again. Of course, when we arrived I was devastated to learn that they no longer offered it.

Can somebody explain what a beaver tail is/was? I've seen it mentiond on these boards numerous times and how everbody misses them. I'm dying to know what I missed out on.:)

Beaver Tails: a little bit of heaven...fried dough, shaped like a beaver's tail; you added toppings like strawberries and cream, chocolate, maple, choc/maple, cinammon and sugar, YMMMMMM. Was served at Canada in Epcot.

Ok, so this doesn't seem like a big deal, but trust me-the taste is TOTALLY different:scared1: .
I'm not a big steak eater, but for whatever reason I was in the mood for steak when DBF and I were at Chefs de France in May 2006-I got the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce Bordelaise, gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts (which loosely translated is steak in bordelaise sauce w/au gratin potatoes and green beans). It was THE BEST STEAK I have ever had in my life!!! I took a picture of it, I told everyone about if when we got home, I put the picture in our Disney scrapbook, basically-it was love:lovestruc .

So, when we went back this past August I was salivating just thinking about having this steak again-we went back, and guess what's on the menu-Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts (which loosely translated is steak in BLACK PEPPER sauce, au gratin potatoes, and green beens). I hate pepper-I don't put it on anything. I can tell when someone has put just a dash of pepper is just about anything and it never tastes good to me. So, I got the mac and cheese and DBF got the steak so I could taste it (it was awful to me-but he liked it fine). I pouted the rest of the day (and am still a little po'ed that I will never again get to taste that magnificent steak).

I do miss the Heidelberger Deli in the VIllage and their wonderful over-stuffed sandwiches, and the jumbo slice of pickle, and the potato salad.

Also, before it became the Earl of Sandwich that was the location of some of the best commercial cheesecake.

And they used to make coated marshmallows in the colors of your choice in the candy department. We love to go to Goofy's Candy Kitchen, but it was fun to order m'mallows in school colors.

Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia usually has your Filet de Boeuf Grille and it's quite superb. Is that very far from where you are in Ohio? You won't be disappointed.

On Main Street there used to be a Nestle Toll House Cookie stand that sold about 6 different types of fresh baked cookies

In DTD, where EoS is now, there used to be a kitchen pantry place and they had the best tuna sandwiches

In MK, where the egg roll cart used to be in front of the Tree House, they used to have hot dog and cheese egg rolls....sounds gross but they were so good

Oh, that does sound so good. I'm sorry I never got to try them.:)
