I miss the banana cream pie at the Sci-Fi. We ate there twice just for that pie on my honeymoon in 1994. It was sooooooo good!!!!!
I knew I'd remember something else ... fresh donuts made daily at the Boardwalk Bakery.![]()
Replacing them with Krispy Kremes is a Krime!![]()
I miss...this is going way, way back...handwiches. Anyone remember those? You got them at that little place to the right just when you leave the hub going over the bridge to Liberty Square. Now I think it sells popcorn and cappucinos. It was such a unique food item.
Ok, so this doesn't seem like a big deal, but trust me-the taste is TOTALLY different.
I'm not a big steak eater, but for whatever reason I was in the mood for steak when DBF and I were at Chefs de France in May 2006-I got the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce Bordelaise, gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts (which loosely translated is steak in bordelaise sauce w/au gratin potatoes and green beans). It was THE BEST STEAK I have ever had in my life!!! I took a picture of it, I told everyone about if when we got home, I put the picture in our Disney scrapbook, basically-it was love.
So, when we went back this past August I was salivating just thinking about having this steak again-we went back, and guess what's on the menu-Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts (which loosely translated is steak in BLACK PEPPER sauce, au gratin potatoes, and green beens). I hate pepper-I don't put it on anything. I can tell when someone has put just a dash of pepper is just about anything and it never tastes good to me. So, I got the mac and cheese and DBF got the steak so I could taste it (it was awful to me-but he liked it fine). I pouted the rest of the day (and am still a little po'ed that I will never again get to taste that magnificent steak).
Beaver Tails: a little bit of heaven...fried dough, shaped like a beaver's tail; you added toppings like strawberries and cream, chocolate, maple, choc/maple, cinammon and sugar, YMMMMMM. Was served at Canada in Epcot.
