The "I gotta do something to pass the time"pre-trip report

Well here goes:
SATURDAY Dec. 6th:
While I finished my last minute packing my DH decided to finally fix the leaking downstairs toilet (mind you I have been trying to get him to fix this for over a week) WHY now.? Well he was just having a hard time getting parts off and the new parts on, using some "not so Disney words" I finally told him to just turn off the water in that bathroom and fix it when we get back. By now he was trying my patience and had been riding my last nerve like a roller coaster(not a Disney one either). He finally decided to do as I said and fix it when we get back.:confused3

After a sleepless night, I couldn't sleep because I had Mickey, Minnie, Winnie and Goofy running around in my head.

SUNDAY Dec.7th:yay: :yay: :yay:

We(My DH ,I was already up allnight)) got up at 5:00am got dressed and loaded our suitcases in the car said goodbye to the cats and dog and of course our son. Left the house at 6:30am. Our flight is at 9:00am we wanted to get there early to check in our luggage and grab a little something to eat for breakfast.
We made it, we are at the airport and ready for Disney.:cool1:
The only food court in the area we are at is a Quizno's so we decide to get something to eat to hold us over...let's just say YUCK.
Time to board the plane. I'm so excited I could wet myself.
We get on the plane and hear the pilot say we should be able to make the flight in 1 1/2 hours instead of the 2 due to great winds....I am on :cloud9: the quicker the better to see Disney.
We land at 11:10am and decide to check our own luggage so we can get them without waiting on them to be delivered (whenever) by the resort. So we didn't put the ME luggage tags on. One of our better decisions THANKS for those who had suggested on doing this.
We gather our luggage from the carousel head to the ME area only to find a line that was a mile long....everyone kept saying it was the worst they had ever seen...there was alot of reasons Pop Warner was checking in plus the Cheerleaders. Thank god we heard them talking about who they were or I could have accidentally said some not so pleasant things that I have heard about Pop Warner (I won't say where I heard them:confused3 ). There were parents in front and behind us that had sons in the competiton.
It took us 1 hour and 20 minutes just to check in and then another 30+ minutes waiting in line to be loaded on the bus we give our luggage to the bus driver and get on the bus. We are on our way.

I can't beleive I'm in Disney. After so much waiting it seems so surreal. Quick pinch me don't let it be a dream. OUCH that hurt.

We get to our resort All Star Movies at 2:35 pm and no lines to check in:cheer2: Our Cm here was so sweet and friendly, our AAA agent Gail had told them it was a celebration of 5 year remission for me and for them to treat us good...the CM gave us anniversary buttons to wear.Which we did proudly. My DH wore his everyday, without any nudging from me. We had so many people telling us "Happy Anniversary" how many years?? After a while it was just so much easier to just say 32 our years married instead of my remission years. It seems as if every CM noticed the buttons and so did so many guests.

They have a our room ready...mind you we didn't care which area so we got room 6953 in the Herbie area. The needed refrigerator was brought up within 15 minutes.
It was on the 3rd floor and at the end of the walkway 2 rooms away from the corner mind you it didn't have a view but that was okay. I proceed to go in and do my usual check for cleanliness, clean linens and bedbugs:scared1: It all passed my inspection we dump our luggage off freshen up a little then head to HS we had made a ressie for Sci-Fi Diner for 5:25pm.
We head out to the busses and didn't have to wait got on the HS bus. We are off to such a good start I am hoping the rest of the week is just as great.
We get to HS and we were hungry so decided to check and see if they can get us in early it is 4:00pm and guess what they had an opening :dance3: The couple in front us was turned down must be our lucky day.
Our waiter was so nice and funny it was always joking with us.Of course some of the jokes were more than a little corny...but hey we are in Disney so laugh.
We both ordered the ribs/fries cheesecake dessert for me and apple crumb cake for DH. Food was okay....service nice. Total would have been $63.20 but we are on the DDP.Our bellies are so full.
Left the restaurant and walked around we decided to do the Great Movie ride which was a mistake for me.....as I have stated on here before I have an interstim implant unit which is like a pacemaker for the kidneys and bladder it is implanted in my right hip and works similar like a heart pacemaker it can not be near an magnetized fields or it will re set or worse. It just re-set mine so it was sending shocks in an area that wasn't pleasant and my programer was back at the resort. But I just used alot of pixie dust and beared it.
This ride apparently has a magnet field because it set my unit in a tizzy. I did get it settled down when we got back to the resort later that night, but it was difficult.
We left the ride and wondered over to see Fantasmic we got their early and waited great seats ....weather just a little nippy low 60's but we did have our fleece jackets on....Love this show we had seen it before but this time it was better for me.
After show we walked over to see the Osborne lights and took lots and lots of pictures. Just loved the lights and watching peoples faces especially those of the children was amazing. DH had to drag me away kicking and screaming.....no, no don't make me go.
We walk around for just a little while longer when I decide I have to get back and re-program my unit.
We are getting tired from not sleeping the night before so we decide to call it a night we head back to our resort it is now 10:00pm no wait on buses we lucked into one waiting on us.
Got to our resort and DH decided he is a little hungry me I am still full from Sci- Fi, so we buy our mugs and he ordered a meatball sub took it back to our room. He said it was pretty good . It is now 10:45pm we watched a little t.v. unpacked a few things (cosmetics) we learned a long time ago to live out of our suitcase it makes it easier. lay out next days clothing and finally call it a night.Only complaint is the beds are small we are used to a queen size and theses beds are just a hair bigger than a twin size, but we snuggled up and fell asleep
Up at 4:00am waiting for DH to wake up I showered then waited for Stitch to wake DH up he knew nothing about the wake up call. As you will find out there is a few secrets that I didn't tell my DH I wanted to surprise him.

BTW...I have so glad we checked our own luggage in we heard it took until late night and in some cases early morning for people to get their luggage due to how crowded it was, with Pop Warner..

Enough for today have to get ready so when DH gets home at 12:00pm today I will be ready we are starting our holiday festivities. My cousin is having us over today to exchange gifts and have dinner together.

It is nice to be home but I am starting to miss Disney World and want to go back so does DH he is already fiquring out when we can take next years vacation.:cool1:
I have some shopping to still do and wrapping so I know what you are going through.
I hope you anre enjoying some time with your sweetie.

Sounds like the first day was great! Aside from your unit going haywire! YIKES!!

Sorry about not sharing my trip report with you all but with the Holidays we are so busy with so many family members and friends we have almost everyday /night booked with dinners and gift exchanges.
I usually host a big family Christmas party at our house but this year we decide it would just be too much for me.

We had a great time at my cousins house last night received some really nice gifts...DH got a bottle of Biltmore wine:cloud9: and I got several unique ornaments.

We were definitely the envy of the party all we did the whole night was talk about our Disney vacation.:rolleyes1
My DH is actually talking about a return trip...he wants me to look into details about a Christmas Disney 3 day/4 night cruise.....I love this man:lovestruc :lovestruc he knows I have always wanted to take a cruise.

My cousin and her DH have gone on vacations with us (Las Vegas,Grand Canyon,Niagara Falls,Gatlinburg, and Niagara Falls. So they are thinking about joining us.

I got to return to work tomorrow and from what I understand it is going to be a full week working during the day:mad: and parting at night....:woohoo:

I promise to gather my facts and get on with my trip report I do have some interesting things to post...well at least I thought they were:confused3

Aww! The holidays are so busy and add in the trip it makes it thast much more! I can't wait to hear more!

Great start to the trip!
Don't worry about us here on the TR thread. Rest and enjoy the holidays with all of your friends and family. We'll be here when you come back.
Have yourself a happy holiday season!!!:cloud9:

Vickey, please don't worry about it!!! Enjoy your time with family and friends - we're all busy too, we understand :goodvibes: and we'll happily be here when you get back to posting about your trip!

Just checking in to let you all know I'm alive and well. And to check and see if everyone had a nice holiday. The holidays are always so tiring but worth it to be able to spend so much time with family and friends.
On Christmas Eve we had 42 adults and 21 young ones here at our house and so much food (MY FAMILY LOVES TO EAT)that I'm thankful it was after Disney or I wouldn't have been able to fit on the plane or on any of the rides.

Best Christmas present I got was:
My DH has already told me to start checking in on a cruise for next year. I will have to see what cruises Disney offers.

I am going to post day 2 tomorrow. This isn't as easy as I had thought it would be.

I just typed an hour worth of trip report on our day 2 TR only to get up to potty and have the cat jump on the computor and delete it all:sad1:

I told her she was on my hit list and that I still have two more cats to take her place so she wouldn't be missed if she ever does it again.

Of course now I have to give DH some much needed quality time since he seems to feel as if he has been ignored with all the holiday festivities.
I will start ALL over again later.

I'm going to try to post day 2 again since the cats(all 3) and the dog are taking naps. No deleting.

DAY 2....MONDAY DECEMBER 8th

I again am up at 4:15am, DH is sound asleep. Did I mention that the beds are comfy but really small for 2 pooh sized adults...mind you I enjoy snuggling  but not to the point that if DH moves over, I'd fall out of bed which almost happened several times through the night.
I keep looking over at the other bed(yes there is 2 of those small...larger than a twin size beds) in our room, but in 32 years we have never slept apart. But it is calling my name... I cover my ears with the pillow and try and get some sleep.
I'm up and passing the time by packing the needed things for the day. I have Animal Kingdom planed for today.Morning EMH.
I had called and set up a wake up call for 6:30 am. This is one of those little secrets that I didn't share with DH to surprise him. So when the phone rings I am conveniently in the bathroom so he has to answer only to be screamed at to wake up by non other than STITCH. Great way to start the day.:)

Both up and ready and out the door by 7:15am make a stop with our cups in hand to the food court. I have hot chocolate and DH has his morning coffee.
Now on to the bus stop to AK we go...not a long wait. A little chilly this morning so we are wearing our fleece jackets.
8:00am ......Arrive at AK with a map and plans in hand...our (MY) plan is to start at one end and go straight through getting everything in.DH follows.
First stop....walked through the Oasis Exhibits, this will one of many of my favorite things to do I love animals and could spend all day just observing them.
Now we are in the Discovery Island section on the map:
It's Tough to be a Bug is first in this area....yes we have seen this before and it hasn't changed but it's on the map so we have to do it. I have to tell you the best part of the show was the little girl(around 4-5 yrs old) seating next to us, when the bugs start to crawl around under your seat... she yells out so everyone can hear "MOM there's bugs in my underwear".
Okay after that we stroll around the tree and do the Discovery Trail...more animals:lovestruc even though we have seen this tree many times before on our trips I have never taken the time as I did this time to really look at it.

We follow through our plans and are now in Camp Minnie and Mickey...
Just in time to see the 9:30 am Festival of the Lion King we have not seen this before...we enjoyed this alot.We had great seats. My DH is one of those people that sings along if he knows the song so to watch him sing along was priceless. We were in the Lion section so we got to ROAR.

Following the map...I am still on plan...we are now in Africa:
We take the Kilimanjaro Safari....again not much of a wait time.Since it was early the animals were out eating so we saw quite alot of them, but for those of you with small children a warning not only do they like to eat early they seem to like to participate in some early morning delight:rolleyes1 but the thing that amused and confused us was how many people were actually crawling all over everyone so they could get pictures of them doing the naughty:confused3 Our driver was really good he went slow so we really got to see alot of the animals where as before it always seemed as if we were rushed through. And as you know by know I love my animals.
On that note we walked through the Pangani Forest Trail after the safari and this too seemed as if all the animals were out.

Rafiki's Planet Watch is next on the map so onward we go marking off things as we travel the path of the map plan is going as (I) planned it too.;) I have to admit I am getting tired but refuse to slow down this early into the trip.I Will pay for this later:guilty:

Wildlife Express Train...I get to sit and relax. Get off train and go to Habitat Habit, and Conservation Station.

By now we are getting hungry(we didn't eat breakfast) and I had planned on eating lunch at Flame Tree BBQ as my DH loves BBQ and ribs (you will see a pattern of this) so we walk all the way back to Discovery Islands and order....
I ordered the pulled pork meal with key lime pie and water
DH ordered the BBQ rib meal ,chocolate cake and coke,,he also wanted to try out the onion rings as he saw someone in front of us with them.
Our meals were okay...desserts okay...onion rings good but too many to finish. We are on the DDP and I lost the receipt so I can only guess at the cost $35.00
After lunch we slowly wobbled(ate too much) on to finish following the map
onto Asia :
Maharajah Jungle Trek....guess what I saw???more animals.
It was still too chilly for me to get wet so we watched others get wet on the Kali River Rapids.
Now as I stated I don't ride roller coasters or anything that resembles one and DH doesn't hardly ride anything he is a "It's a Small World" rider only, but has promised me he would try and be more adventuress this time.We were quite happy to just observe others going on Expedition Everest. Just taking pictures of it made me nausea. Everyone would definitely be wearing Flame Tree BBQ if I had rode it.
We are in DinoLand in no time and enjoying sitting and watching the children at the Boneyard it is times like this that I miss my boys being adults and not little anymore. I need to have a LLLLOOONNNGGG talk again with them about getting married and having me some grandchildren that we can bring to Disney World.
Now this next thing I have been waiting on:
Nemo The Musical...again great seating right up front and along the runway.
I loved it and could have sat through it again. My DH loved it too. I again am watching the faces of the children and loved seeing their little eyes light up.
Wanted to ride Primeval Whirl and was in line for it (not DH he said NO) but right before my turn they had to stop and take time out to clean up from someone who also has trouble keeping their lunch down so I decided to not chance loosing my lunch.
Before we left I checked into every ride to see which ones I could ride and which ones I thought my DH could ride( he has had major surgery on his back 2 years ago and has to watch somethings and the fact that he is just not into fast spinning rides or ones that go up and down really fast).
Now comes a real shock to me I decided I was going to ride Dinosaur and told DH I really thought it would be okay for him to ride he was hesitate to ride it after reading the warnings but I said please just trust me, I wouldn't let you ride something that would harm you:rolleyes1 Guess what he decided to trust me and rode it.:cheer2: Maybe he will ride every ride I tell him too. (NOT)

continued:

Had to take a break and post what I had typed. My little Sahara(spoiled rotten cat) has woke from her nap and she loves to sit in mom's lap, i didn't want to risk her deleting my post again.

Here goes:
Now as you can see I did almost everything on my list with the exception of 2 rides.
The only thing we didn't get to see was Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade we were seeing Nemo at the time and I hadn't planned on it being at the same time so we said we would be back later in the week to see it(we didn't make it back to see) :sad1:
After looking around a little more in the shops and also trying to see Lady Devine which non of the CM seem to know if or where she was. I really wanted to see her. But non the less I was pleased that we did all that we did and on plan.
We left AK at 5:30pm and headed over to Ft. Wilderness Lodge again no waiting on a bus (hope our luck holds out the rest of our trip)we had a ressie at Whispering Canyon for 6:25pm.
We walked around and took pictures of the lodge and then it was our turn to be seated. As you will learn I kept alot of little secrets from my DH so he'd be surprised.Did not breath one word about this dinner other than the fact that he could order a skillet meal that had all you care to eat ribs.(yes, I know he just had them at lunch but like I said he loves BBQ ,pizza and hamburgers) well the hostess seats us in the area where there is only adults away from the main area, I instantly tell her I'd like to be seated in a more inter active area, my Dh not knowing why says this is okay, I'm like no it isn't so the hostess says she will see if they can move us, he doesn't understand why I am being adamant about being moved...hey I didn't book this for the food I booked it for the experience. Well after about 5 minutes a waitress comes by and asks what we want to order I again proceed to tell her we want moved, again my DH looks at me and says what is wrong with this table I had to tell him to TRUST me I knew what I was doing. The waitress did move us to a very good table right in the center of things.
Our waitress was Judith and she was sweet but very inter-active. I did ask her about the large drink I had my DH order not being in a huge glass with the very long straw and she said that they have had to tone down their antics alot because of complaints from others. She still managed to throw the straws and napkins at us and we did trick my DH into ordering KETCHUP.
We both ordered the Skillet and I had the Vanilla Shakes and DH had a Chocolate one for dessert we both ordered the Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce but were too full to eat it so our waitress put it in a to go box. She saw our Anniversary buttons they gave us we we checked in again she thought it had to do with our anniversary instead of it being a celebration (5 year re-mission) so we learned it was just easier for us to answer to that. Judith our waitress then brings out a glass of champagne with strawberries and had everyone sing "Happy Anniversary" to us. We thought the food was okay I ate the potatoes ,salad and cornbread and DH ate most of the meat. Too much food. We used our DDP but meal would have been $92.06 we tipped $20.00.
By now it was 8:10pm and we both were tired and My DH didn't want me to over do so we headed back to All Star Movies Resort for an early night. Got to Resort by 9:00pm and watched t.v. and snuggled down for a crowded nights sleep.
Our room was very quite no noise from outside and I am a very light sleeper so we were happy about that.
I forgot to mention that early that morning I also decorated our room window with the Disney Christmas Decorations and my BIG green Mickey head with my Dis name even though no one could probably see it because we were on the 3rd floor and the back near the end. But hey I knew they were there.
We also don't request room service so we we got back there was a bag with extra towels for the next day hanging on the door knob.
Call and set up a wake up call for 6:00am tomorrow. we have a ressie at Crystal Palace for 8:05am.
Plan is to spend the day at MK and it is our MVMCP night.

Day 3 next:
Did I get to see my Winnie and Eeyore?
Did we Enjoy our much anticipated MVMCP?

Sounds like a great day!! I hope your not over doing it!!!!!!

The animals doing the naughty is to funny! When we stay at AKL in 05 the Elands were doing it 24/7!!1 DH kept closing the curtains and saying "this isn't child appropriate!" :lmao:

I love the bugs in the little girls underpants too!!! DD absolutely hates that show!! We tease her about it! Yes, we're mean!

I over did it everyday. But I lived through it,to tell all about it.:thumbsup2
We always say we need a vacation to rest up from our vacations.

My DH probably wishes I was an Eland:rolleyes1

I have had a day out of (you know where?)
I got off work and decided to stop off at the Family Dollar Store to check out the 50% Christmas sale. And when I got back in the car it wouldn't start my DH and son were both at work and no one I called was home. I was about 2 miles from home and had to walk home. To top that I had to potty so walking with ones legs crossed was hard. By the time I got home I was MAD:mad:
That is when I had a thought I should've called AAA.

DH got home just a little while ago and we went to see if it was the battery, only then does DH say" oh it did the same thing to me yesterday" and all he did was tap the connectors so we think the need replaced. We need to take it in tomorrow to have checked out.

Good thing about today is I did find some bargains at Walgreeens(75%) and
Family Dolar(50%) some Christmas items. They had alot of Disney related things. Alot of Blow up yard decorations for almost next to nothing but I do my yard in a Victorian style.

I have been checking out cruises and some of the Disney ones look interesting we have decided we want to try and take our vacation time off anywhere from Thanksgiving to Christmas time to get away for a few weeks from this winter weather. Even looking into returning to Hawaii.Too bad they don't have a Disney World there>

I will post day 3 later as I not focused enough to gather all my thoughts.

I think most DH's wish their wives were like those Elands!! :lmao: They can only dream!!

That stinks about your car!! I hope your ok after your long walk with your legs crossed!!

Good luck planning the next vacation! Did you here disney is building a resort in Hawaii?! I swear! I believe it's supposed to open in 2011. Goggle Disney resort Hawaii and you'll find info! I saw something at one point with sketches of it and it looked beautiful!!!

I told MIL the other day that I'll need a few days to recover after we get home for this trip!! She told me I needed to go on a "sit by the pool with a drink vacation" She's probably right!! MIL and FIL are going to Columbus Isle right after we get home from this trip. I believe it's in the Bahamas, I'd never heard of it before they booked it. Their looking forward to it!

But as you know "Dreams come true in Disney" should we tell our husbands or let them fiqure that out for themselves?????:rolleyes1

FULL bladder ....sore legs did not make for a pleasant return home.

That would be great what else could one ask for Disney and Hawaii:lovestruc

I had never heard of Columbus Isle either but it sounds interesting.
Hope you get your pool and drink vacation>

Just a quick second to say i'm enjoying your accounts of your days and the animals getting busy made me giggle! i'm sorry you had such a crappy day yesterday, but glad you made it safely home!

Much :hug:s!

Hi Sare......glad to hear from you. How was your holidays?
Is bf still visiting? I do hope you got to spend alot of time together>
Yesterday was horrible and it carried over to today with my cell phone using it's battery charge. It comes in three's so what's next.:scared1:

DAY 3: TUESDAY DEC. 9th

Let me start off by saying this was the day I had looked forward to the most.

Wake up call set for 6:00am. I laid in bed waiting for STITCH to call so I could answer it this time. After I hear Mickey announce he is sorry but Stitch was being onery and waking people up...I got up.
Again stiff from not being able to move in this confined bed, mind you DH gets quite comfortable and falls into a deep sleep and HOGS the whole bed.
The other bed is really looking GOOD. If we could move the beds together it would solve the problem,no luck.
We are up dressed and catching the bus to go to our ressie 8:05am at Crystal Palace this morning, I get to see and eat with Pooh and Friends:banana:
We again had a short bus wait time. We got to MK and was seated withing 15 minutes. Got lots of pictures with my PALS. Even DH was getting into taking pictures with the characters in the parks this time.
The buffet was actually good we enjoyed this meal. But again we wobbled out so full. We started walking around to burn the meal off.
Map and plans in hand...by now DH just know to ask "where and what is on your plans"?
We have the MVMCP tonight so I wanted to take a mid day break but until then to just follow the map quide around the park and do as much as possible.
Adventure Land:
Rode:
The Carpets of Aladin
Went on Jungle Cruise
Pirates of the Carribean
By now I am pleased that DH is actually rides rides with me. Mind you this is
a big deal since DH doesn't like to rides rides that leaves the ground or go up-down- around or fast. Again let me remind everyone he rides It's a Small World and will go in Haunted Mansion.
Wait times have been good.Even though the park seems really crowed this morning. So many strollers and motorized scooters. As the day goes on I really get to the point that I HATE   these and their pushers/drivers(more on this as we get into the TR of the day)

Next up Frontierland:
Rode:
WDW Railroad ....still so full I had to rest my belly.
By passed Splash Mt. and Big Thunder Mt.
Explored Tom Sawyer Island

Liberty Square:
RAN pass the Hall of presidents(BORING) seen it to many times as it is.
Haunted Mansion..I didn't tell DH about the changes to surprise him and to see if he'd notice the changes...he did.
Oh no:sad2: ....DH favorite ride ....It's a Small World
Peter Pan's Flight...again another ride that leaves the ground and guess who rode it:cool1: DH:cool1:
Went in to see Mickey's PhilarMagic and Dream Along with Mickey

Looked at the time and decided we had enough time to ride a few more rides before we took a break. That is if we can stay out of the stroller/scooter lane...oh forgot they don't have a special lane they use the whole stretch sidewalks, streets and even the lawn.

Onward to Dumbo and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Wanted to ride Snow Whites Scary Adventure but the long was long. A 90 minute wait.

Walked around alittle more and then decided to go back to resort and take a break before the MVMCP.
Bus wait was the longest so far 20 minute wait still not bad.Back to resort by 3:00pm with the hopes of maybe getting in a nap.

Enough for now.

Did we get our nap?
Did we make it to MVMCP?
If so was it ALL I had hoped ?

yes, he is still here, until Jan. 14th. The holidays have been good but rushed - seems like i'm cramming everything in between working. And work has been BUSY! i'll try to post some holidayish pictures on my PTR this week - apparently my dad has finally set up the wireless network in his house, so i may get on tomorrow morning from my own computer! Yay!

Your trip is sounding good so far, though i'm sorry about your frustration with the wheeled crowd!
