The "I Didn't Get To That" But Still The Best Trip Ever! **Final Thoughts 1/27/09**

Uh oh...

I didn’t know If I was able to check us in but decided to try, and I found a super nice CM who told me as long as I had the info on the room and my name was on it (I had it and it was) I was golden. He even got me out of line quicker by sending me to the concierge desk to check in! In no time flat I was checked in and we got our building request! BUT our room wasn’t ready, which was fine with me, at least we were checked in and all was good.

I had the half slab of St. Louis ribs, corn bread and beans. I also got a water since I left my bottle in my packed bags. And as pictured I had it with some blueberry crystal light.

Inside my head I was like “Buddy **** the F up” but I felt bad for him too, he was obviously nervous.

I'm not a NYer at all!!! I considered going on again but wanted to try my luck elsewhere.

This is where I am pretty sure I ran into Tracy (Disneyland_Mama) but I was too spaced out to stop her, besides it was a in a blur I thought I saw the TFW lanyard. I’m kinda mad at myself for it, but oh well. Sorry T.

Hi Kat great update !!Safari ride is my fav at AK! I will not be on EE !!Remember heights drops and spins are all No No's for me !!!

I just don't like upside down's, but I have been on RnR but only once. lol.

I loved that you screamed through the ride. I think I will do that to people IRL. If they start piping up and being annoying, I will start screaming like Kat on EE

I am a big chicken as far as thrill rides are concerned as well -- I love Everest though -- love, love, love it!

The safari is a favorite of mine, too -- I always get nervous when the rhino is that close -- makes me wonder what would have to happen for it to charge the bus.

Yea if it's in disney for some reason I can do it, but any where else and no way! The CM on the safari made sure we knew not to stick out hands out because "they will bite" she said!!!

Ugh for more rain! But in some of the pics it looks like maybe there were patches of some sun? At least you weren't wearing your poncho!

I love, love, love the safari! I took the backstage tour in '06 and it was amazing!!

I can't say the same for EE. Well I've never been on. I'm too scared. But I'm intrigued that you and CP say you're not thrill ride fans but you love this one. Hmmm....

It wasn't too bad that day with the rain, at least not in the mid afternoon. Have you been on BTMRR? If you can deal with that then you can handle EE, it just goes backwards for a bit but its not so bad, really.

Yep we all trooped it through that stupid rain! My riding buddy was a bit weird but the 5 minute wait made the weird guy worth it.

So last I left you I had checked into POR and headed to AK for a few hours. Last I got a text from Z she figured they’d be in around 6ish. It was only about 4 when I got back to the resort but the rain was holding out and I got to explore some and take in the beautiful POR resort! Did I take pics? DUH!

(These may be a mix of several days but it’s still POR)

My fav thing about Mod rooms, the little bench. Don’t ask why I just like ‘em. Ok? LOL.

Prior to all the drama surrounding window decorations, I printed out a few things for the window of the room. It wasn’t much but it always helps me to find the room. Z’s fav is Donald, Mine is Tink and Yani’s is Jack so that’s why they are all on the window.

So lugging my bags all the way over to our room was rough, esp. because dummy me didn’t realize if I walked another 10 feet that the elevator was in the center of the building. I took some stairs. Alone. With a rolling bag, a duffle bag and a shopping bag full of food and water bottles (full). Yeah that was a blast. But as you can see the room was beautiful. I really have nothing bad to say about the resort at all. I was happy to get our requested building, which was a nice easy stroll across the bridge from the main building. Everything was clean and fresh in the room (I checked). Our room ended up being on the backside of the building but it turned out great because of Yani and Z having the car right under the window of the room (we were 2nd floor).

So since I had some time to kill I decided to unpack and get myself settled in. I went to turn the TV on found that there was NO REMOTE. Weird, that never happened to me in WDW before. I searched all the drawers and stuff but didn’t find it. SO I called the front desk and someone brought me over one lickity split.

I took over a corner in the bathroom with my suitcase and stuff and unpacked my stuff. I knew having 3 girls in the same room was gonna be interesting so I tried to keep my corner to a minimum. One of the strangest things was that there was no other plugs but next to the tiny little counter above the sink, for the coffee maker. I need my coffee (I even brought my own) so the little counter would have to do! I then headed off to the food court and refilled my mug and relaxed for a bit. Secretly I was hoping to run into DisneyJo & Family but no such luck! I got bored fairly quickly and headed back to the room. I watched some TV and waited for Z….

And waited….

I wasn’t mad at all, traffic and weather happens, but I was BORED. I watched like 4 episodes of That 70’s show, zonked out for a while and generally just sat around the room.

Finally around 8pm they arrived!!!!! They found the room and the nearby parking lot super fast and we were hugging in no time! First impressions: they were both awesome! It really was like we knew each other already, we chatted instantly and the conversation never lulled the whole vacation. They really are 2 awesome people and I was really happy and excited to share my vacation with them!

This is Z’s pic of the beds...I post it because I left a few things for them on the bed and I never got a pic of it.

I brought her a small gift bag with some stickers and stuff in it and she got me a Tink mug and necklace! Thanks Z!!!!! The mug is on my Tink collection shelf!

So we were all starving at this point so we decided to try our luck at…

And after walking there and getting wet in a rain spurt they told us 45 minutes was the wait…so we went back to the room and decided to head to our first choice of dinner…

We drove over to The Beach Club. It was really my first time driving anywhere in WDW. Z let me have the front seat all week, which was awesome of her. Yani had Evanescence playing on low all week so now every time I hear them I think of our trip.

Anyways back to dinner… we got lost trying to find our way to B&C cracking up the whole time. I knew we’d be having a giggle fest all week after that night! Eventually we found B&C and the guy said maybe half hour wait, so we took it. Then they told us if we wanted to squeeze at a smaller table we could get in faster…um YEAH we’ll take it! I think overall we waited 20 minutes, but it went by fast since we were chatting. We got a small table near in the corner and eventually got a 2nd table when other people left so it was all good!

We got 2 of the Roast Beef Sandwiches (Z & Yani shared one). It was huge and yummy!!! It was exactly what I needed after a long time of no food!

About 10 of these were gotten while we were in there.

I swear every 5 minutes lights were going off and the whole spiel ensued. It looked HUGE. One day, when I have about 10 friends with me, or Dh when he's hungry.

Of course you know we had to have dessert! Z & I both had old fashioned sundaes but different flavors and Yani had a brownie sundae. This is my sundae and Yani’s.

We got back to the room about 11:30 that night and settled into bed. We def chatted for a while before sleeping so we got to bed anytime after midnight with an early wakeup call set.

Yay I love Beaches and Cream!!! We stopped there four times on our trip last month. I am not a huge burger person but they have the best cheeseburgers ever.
I love all your pictures of POR too. Such a pretty resort. I've only eated at Boatwright's once but I LOVED it there too. (Apparently I love a lot of things...in WDW anyway!)
