I haven't been to the Brown Derby in 20 years, but I want to go back now just for that dessert thingy you got! It looks fabulous.
Bummer about TSM. I hope you got to ride it later in the week! I loved that ride and wish I had gotten to ride it more than twice on our trip.

Oh Kat I am so glad you showed the pix of the Banana tower thing Dessert !! DSIL was looking at the menu for BD and completely skipped appies , entrees and went straight to THAT dessert !!We are hoping to go in Sept and now I can show him what his dessert looks like !! and for the people making comments about you with the Incredibles - that's just ignorance, i say. solo trips are awesome, and there is no reason you shouldn't get to see the characters just like everyone else!

and i love the brown derby! i usually get the cobb salad though. but i have had that dessert, and i must agree - soooooo good!

Amen sista! Thats what the PP pics were for, so I could be in the pics not just taking them. I almost got the cobb salad as I heard amazing things about it- next time.

Great update Kat, that stinks about TSM, but the same thing happened to us as well, but we were almost on the freakin ride when all the lights when out, I mean everything, it was completley black in there and everyone started freaking out and taking out their cell phones to provide some light - the lights came back on and everyone had to leave, they didn't even give us fastpasses, I was so mad!

Yea for you for taking character pictures by yourself! It's your vacation. Who cares what anyone else thinks? I love the BD too. Not only is the food wonderful, the atmosphere is lovely. Maybe I was meant to grow up in the 30's-40's with the dressing up to leave the house, women wearing hats, and drinking (and smoking, I don't but still) all the time.

It was really beautiful; inside, I was awed when I walked in! Maybe if I come back down you and I can head there for lunch!?

At the moaning, but I totally understand. I love the Brown Derby!!!

You would have made some noise of pleasure eating that food too, any person would! The mouse was like budda!

If you went for lunch it was really peacful and not full at all, it made it that much nicer and I saw kiddos there.

Kat somehow all my PP are in a filethat is in my avatar section , that line that says browse well when I do that I acces apicture file and there are all my PPs I do not know how I got them in there but vaguely remeber DGD helping . I don't think from there I can get them to Photo bucket where I have 3 only. But Oh it gets worse .The one of Blue & I is also in avatar section but somehow I can post that as it is in a different section. Am I making any sense . All my own pix were eaten by the dog thanks to DD!! Oh and more I can't locate my PP CD It is around here somewhere . I just have to really search .DD has a habit of cleaning uo things for everyone and then forgets where she puts them! DSIL has gotten HIGHLY *****off about this .As his wallet is still awol!!

As soon as I left BD I saw that Fay was out in full force again. SO I grabbed my poncho out of my bag. When I pulled it out I realized it wasn’t a normal poncho, it was a jacket type one. Well it was not made for the pleasantly plump and it wouldn’t close all the way, basically I got one button closed and managed to wedge my bag under the flap. Not great. I went towards the GMR and hopped on the line. There was a wait but it moved fairly quickly. I know a lot of people don’t care for this ride, and I get it but there is something about it I love. PLUS I was on a mission to see both sides this trip. Did you know there were 2 sides??? I have a friend who did the college program and that’s how I found out. I ended up on the gangster side this time.
Of course I took some pics on the way in and inside the ride….

I was in the very front row, next to the driver. When the gangster got in the car he sat down next to me and said “How you doin??” I cracked up !

My fav part…cause it’s my all time fav movie ever!

After my journey into the movies and getting hit on by a gangster I wandered towards the streets of America. It was wet out and my flip flopped feet were not too happy so I strolled along until Fay got worse. The rain was CRAZY. The stupid 99 cent store kid size poncho was not cutting it. I broke down….I bought a WDW Poncho! I also bought a purple foam mickey head key chain for my keys. I had no urge to really go on any more rides and I had plans to come back to DHS later so I gave up and headed back to Pop, for my dry sneakers.

All I did in the room was swap shoes and use the potty. Then I headed out to the food court to dry out some and decide what to do. It was coming down pretty hard. Eventually after about 20 minutes I just resolved not to let the rain stop me and I jumped onto a bus to DTD. I had no plans to go there but it was some place to go, so I went.

Hunger was starting to kick in again so I decided to have some early dinner at Earl of Sandwich. I love this place and every time we try and go there is a huge line, this time I waltz right in with no problem.

I had a Hawaiian BBQ Sandwich and a cran apple ras juice.

It was really good! Def what I needed. So do we all remember when I didn’t wanna refill my water bottle at the Poly that morning…well I guess I got over it at Earl because once my juice was gone I went, washed it out and refilled it with cherry coke (the only soda I drink and that’s a rare thing these days).

Flame me, I was thirsty.

If anyone saw me they didn’t say anything.

So cherry coke in hand I headed to the WoD store. I wandered around taking note of some stuff on sale for later in the week. I actually didn’t buy anything! Most stuff they have I can get here in NYC at the Disney store. I didn’t really know what to do at this point, the rain was stopping so I just plopped on a bench by the pin traders and chilled. I actually nodded off a bit, a few times.I watched some cute kids play in the puddles. After about a half hour of that I decided it was time to get a snack for myself for later. I went to Goofy’s, of course! I got 3 pretzel rods with lots of goodies smeared all over them. No pics, I was not in the picture mood then, just relaxing ya know.

So I knew I wanted to go back to DHS and see about Fantasmic that night, and I knew I had to head to some resort for a bus there, so instead of going back to the buses I went to the boat dock! DH & I stayed at POFQ for our honeymoon (the trip that started my WDW obsession) and we hadn’t been back there since, so it was a good a place as any to head to! Plus I love the boats and haven’t seen that route in forever! Sun was kinda out so I took out the camera too!

Our fav part of the boats was seeing the tree house villas…I’m so excited they are rebuilding! I so wanna stay in one eventually!!!

I got off at POFQ and took pictures as I walked to the food court. I think this resort is just lovely and fun. Then again I am fairly obsessed with New Orleans too…

I made my way through the main building, freshened up in the bathroom and checked out the gift shop. DH & I didn’t get anything resort specific on our honeymoon either but they didn’t have anything I was interested in. So I went to the buses. Back to DHS I went.

The rain was off and on so it was poncho off and on, what a pain. I made my way to Narnia and decided to check it out since it’s been refurbed. I skipped the meet & greet with Caspian, BTW. I thought the old version was neat but lacked any creativity. I feel pretty much the same about this one. It was neat inside but I wanted something other than just watching movie clips again. Oh well. Strike 2 for Narnia.

The next Voyage of the Little Mermaid was going in so I darted over there and got a great seat in the center towards the back. I took some non flash pics that came out decently I think.

I hadn’t seen this show in a few trips and I really loved it! I have seen the Little Mermaid on Broadway and lemme tell ya this show beats it’s Broadway butt in its 20 minutes! I was really disappointed with the Broadway show…but that’s another report I think!

Since the rain seemed to be fairly light I headed towards the Fantasmic Theater to see how the wait was. I guess it was late enough and they already started letting people in so I trekked it up the long, long walk to the theater. I decided to ask a CM if I could try my luck with an already “full” section since it was just me and she let me right through! I went about half way down and saw an empty edge and asked if it was taken and it wasn’t! Score!

There was a lovely British lady alone there as well. Her hubby was back in their room resting, so we chatted for a bit and wished off the rain while we waited. I also called KC then because seeing the show made me miss him. He couldn’t hear me because everyone was doing the wave and being loud so it was a short conversation. He was leaving in the morning for Miami and I wanted to at least wish him a good flight before he left! Then the drizzle started and the sea of people got out their ponchos!

BUT Fantasmic went on! This was another thing I missed 2 trips in a row so I was thrilled they did it! It was great as usual. I tried for some pics but the rain won and I just stayed inside my poncho enjoying the show! It was a shorter version I think, due to the rain but it was still awesome! I could be wrong because the DL and WDW ones are jumbled in my head. After the show I said my goodbyes to my new friend, who enjoyed the show BTW. And headed to the bus.

It was only 9:30 or so at this point but I was done for the day. I got on the first bus and got a seat, which was awesome. When I got back to Pop I decided I was a bit hungry and got an Asian Chicken Salad and an orange soda (in my mug) and took it back to my room. Man was that thing good! I wish I had gotten it earlier! I really thoroughly enjoyed it! I called KC again but he had gone to bed since he’d be out of the house by about 6am to head to Miami, so I left a msg. I packed up all my stuff, cleaned up and got ready for tomorrow. I was in bed around 11pm.

I asked thats all. They set you up in 2 sections to enter the ride, the set of rows right in front of the doors and the ones further up, each one goes onto the different scenes. That make sense? I asked and they told me it was a bit of a wait and I said OK and that was that! They alternate between them i think! It's a gangster and a cowboy.

Kat then I did do both I just thought they changed periodically. Didn'trealise it was 2 sides amdyou are right one was a mobster type and one was a cowboy!! Gee I did it without even knowing . What luck!!
