So where did I go? Epcot of course!
It was the park I was most looking forward to doing by myself, wandering the world showcase and trying out some new drinks! SO I hopped on the bus and headed over. Can I just say how much I really HATE the looooong walk from the busses to the entrance of Epcot and the even longer trek it becomes when you head right for the world showcase? Yikes. But trek I did.
It was a downtime to the rain so there were actually PP people out! Finally pics of my solo self!
The PP chica noticed Tink on my bag and asked if I wanted her in my pic

So SE had no wait, just people walking right in so I decided to hop on! Last time we were here they had just done the upgrades and the screens didnt work for us at the end so I was excited to try it! I took a few pics on my way in, much to the irritation of the people behind me- whatever- we were walking on and not waiting they could deal (nope nothing NY about me!).
So when I got up to the times board it said 30 minute wait for SE, hoping they were wrong about Soarin as well I went to the Land pavilion to see .
At first glance there werent many people on the line (you couldnt see people on the line yet) so I walked in . and walked back out because there were a million people right past the first turn on the queue. I am spoiled by knowing about when to go and cannot wait more than maybe a 1/2 hour for something so I left! I was on the way to the WS. At some point on my way I got a call from fellow dis-er, Lessa telling me that she arrived. Her and her family were staying at Pop too. Turns out her room was in the same building as me- same floor even!!! So I left her a quick msg telling her my room # and hoped I would run into them later little did I know
So onward towards the Canada side of WS It then started to rain. I would deal. Poncho on- no problem.
Then the rain got worse before I even got to Canada. I had a moment for Lessa (whos from Canada) and by passed Canada. I totally intended to see the movie and maybe buy some maple cookies in the shop
another of those I didnt get to things on my list!
I noticed that Off Kilter wasnt even playing that day! I love them and was sad I wouldnt catch em. So I popped into the shops in the UK, mostly to see if Mary Poppins was in the kids store she wasnt. I went into the store with the tea. BTW I see Twinnings tea EVERYWHERE here and for much cheaper than in that shop! I am on the search for passionfruit tea and cant seem to find any ANYWHERE and here was no different. So I was going to head into France but the rain was so bad I brain stormed a place to just go and relax and sit and have a drink of some sort so off to Morocco I went!
I went to the Tangerine Café to try out this:
Thanks Marsh0013 for turning me onto this wonderful Tangerine Daiquiri! When I went to the counter the girl was chatting with a chef and when I asked for the drink she asked if I wanted the liquor or not , to which I replied Have you seen it out there, I definitely need the liquor in it!. She told me shed make it a "good one and boy oh boy it was STRONG! I dont even know what the heck was in it (the liquor part) but it was yummy! They have strawberry too, its on my future drinks list now!
I took my favorite booth, near the entrance and made myself comphy. I thought of having some food (this is my fav CS in WS) but was way too excited about my ADR for the night- Rose & Crown. I got out my TR notebook and organized myself and relaxed and drank and watched the rain and watched people trying to run through the rain.
This is what I saw from my seat looking up.
I sat there for over an hour because the rain was so bad. So bad in fact they closed the doors so it wasnt leaking in! It was about 5 something at the time and I had until 7:20pm for my ADR. I got bored eventually and decided to venture out into the pavilion since most of it you can stay under cover. I almost bought a necklace in one of the shops (prob should have). It was a multi colored stone necklace with wire wrapped around each stone beautiful but I was trying to save as much $ as possible. Oh BTW- most of anything I ate for the solo days of my trip were on gift cards or Disney visa rewards points!

The rain was not pretty but I was determined. I knew I wouldnt make it back to the UK if I went far so I decided to wander in France for a bit. I almost got a wine flight from the vino store but figured I didnt have enough in my belly and being drunk solo didnt sound too appealing.
I did find this shirt there that I NEED:
And some beautiful displays and things in the stores.
I was looking for a magnet with Monets water lilies on it but couldnt find one so I wandered a while and eventually knew it was inevitable that the rain was not going to let up today! My WS time was most likely going to come to an end I can handle rain but this was beyond rain- stupid Fay was kicking WDWs BUTT. So I went over to R&C to see if I could get checked in early.
They made me no promises but told me I could wait in the covered seating area so that was enough for me! This was my first solo dinner, BTW! I was a bit nervous but really excited to try the food as well. I checked in about 6pm and was seated around 6:40pm. I was told at the time I checked in that any ressies after 7pm can stay for Illuminations but before that cannot (2 hour time limit because of the ressies people make specifically to see Illuminations). I understood that, but others coming in did not boy those poor people at R&C! I almost wanted to yell at some stupid irate guests but I didnt. and apparently illuminations was still on despite the rain!But with no real patio to sit on I really was over the thought of staying for it at the restaurant.
So I was seated on the patio above the outdoor part by the water. They had tarps holding the water out (mostly). I had a lovely server whose name I didnt write down. I ordered a Welsh Dragon to drink because it sounded awesome!
It had: Peach schnapps, melon liquor, OJ and Pineapple juice in it!

Oh man this was good, and misleadingly strong! Then I ordered my dinner. I had this thing about trying appetizers out because we had always done the DDP and now there are no more apps on it, so I got 2 apps instead of an entrée.
I got the roasted mushrooms and the cheese plate.
Holy crow the food was awesome!!!! The mushrooms were creamy and yummy and actually went well with my cheese plate. The onion jam was like crack in a little jar- I finished every bit of it. I put it on everything! I just loved the food so much! I decided to get a dessert to go because I really wanted to try the sticky toffee pudding. The whole meal came to about $30 or so, which I thought wasnt too bad esp. with an alcoholic drink.
I ran over to the shops in the UK after getting my take out box so I could get a bag to preserve my desert from the rain. I chatted with a lovely CM for a few about yummy desserts in WDW (she recommended the strawberry tart in France). Then I gave up. I decided the down pour was not worth it anymore. My feet were wet, my clothes were wet Fay won that round!
So at only about 8pm I headed to the bus and went back home. I am glad I had more than one poncho too because my stupid 99 cent one didnt make it through the day and ended up in the trash when I got back to Pop. I was hoping to run into Lessa or Janet in the food court on my way to the room but no luck. I considered calling Janets room but figure with a kiddo they might be in bed early and decided to call Lessas room instead. Luckily she answered because I was scared one of her infamous brothers would! So I invited her over to my room to hang for a while!
She didnt think I was a crazy person so thats a plus, and she came. We sat and chatted for a good hour just about nothing in general. It was so nice to have a little company on my first night solo. I really had a great time talking to her; she is a real cool chick! So after we chatted like old friends or old ladies with the gossiping (lol) she came with me to the food court to heat up my desert and refill my mug. The rain had mostly stopped by then so it wasnt too bad a walk. We parted ways on the walk back but I knew Id see her again at some point anyway!
I went to my room, changed for bed and got myself all situated for the next day (Im OCD even when solo) and sat down to eat and called my hubby to chat about our days.

I was in bed around 11ish and out cold after watching a re-run of Sex & the City. My wakeup call was set for early the next day.

The Tangerine Daquiri was one of my favorite drinks in June and the Welsh Dragon is on my must-have list for next June! I want us to eat at Rose and Crown so I am definitely remembering the sticky toffee dessert!

Great update! The drink in the UK looked awesome, I am definately gonna have to try that on my next trip!!! It does suck about the rain, but hey if your gonna get stuck in rain, stick me in Disney World!!!

Oh my gosh, I now want to go to the R&C just so I can have a Welsh Dragon. It looks fabulous. My rule with drinks is that the more neon it is, the more I want it!

I was starting to get hungry so instead of going straight to my next destination, HM, I went to sleepy hollow for a funnel cake (Shout out to Mel!). Im used to being on the DDP so it was nice to get it and have the strawberries too! I did pay the lousy $2 for water, but I had my crystal light packets in my purse to pump up my H2O.
