The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I have never had to deal with taking care of my car...I know what I need to do but DH has always kept track of it...just this morning he told me to remind the boys that I needed an oil change...so I did...they will do it Sunday...but, I do pay them for the work...I figure I would have to pay someone else so why not them...and it would get old for them to do it...DH was taking it to the dealer for it but the boys ask to do it...so why not...

I am afraid DD will "expect" them to do it for her though
You pay for it, so should she, right? ;)
ETA: I bet the boys would give her a break on the price, compared to what a garage would charge, so that would be good motivation for her to work with her brothers!

I tried getting my sis to pay my dad for all the work he put in on her car; it was a LOT of work because she refused to do maintenance ("too expensive"). But she scoffed at the idea. :confused3

we got her a double heart pendant from tiffany's and I just picked up her jewelry armorie..(we got the armorie at a great price and I couldn't pass it up)and tomorrow after school we go to the spa...I am looking forward to that myself...

she won't be learning anything but how to be a spoiled brat if I don't make her responsible for some of it...

I did tell DH that he needed to consider putting some rubber on the boys trucks when he spends extra on her..Its not fair..and I don't like not being fair with them.

Howdy ladies!

Quick Hi and Bye!! Sorry, it took forever to try and catchup.
I can't even think at the moment to reply to what I read.

I do remember that Sam's DD hurt her arm, and is not to happy about it. Sorry Sam.............hope she heals real fast...........for everyone's sake.

Beyond that I am too tired.

Have a good evening.

Not only that, but I think it handicaps a person. I think my sister just doesn't know how to do certain things because my parents have always taken care of some things for her. And so she doesn't know HOW to take care of it herself, and it doesn't even OCCUR to her, she just expects them to handle it for her.

She's started over the last few years to do more for herself, and certainly it's made her more self-sufficient, and also I think it's been a bit of a confidence boost for her. :thumbsup2

I went to DL for a bit. I had to return some clothes to World of Disney (I bought pants and a hoodie and they were way too baggie and long). Since they have X'd their fitting rooms there, next time I buy clothes I'll try it on in the bathroom there or maybe the bathroom in GCH and if it doesn't fit I can take it back. ;)

The park appeared rather crowded for a Wednesday and I caught a glimpse of the parade and took a few photos. I also noticed that the watch shop on Main St has CHANGED!! I have photos for you guys to see.

Hey Pixie!

I read about the watch shop changes on DL website. Something about being styled after the old "One of a kind shop" they had in NOS :confused3 Which I would have no clue about.. since I never saw that before it was refurbished, read about it though.

I walked in through the small jewelry shop and took one look and thought: "What in the world...." :rotfl2: I took pics for you guys to see. I had to be sneaky because 2 CM's were wondering what the heck I was taking pics of. :lmao:

oh .. and I would have been on the thread earlier.. but I got sucked into the health care right or responsibility thread.
There are some scary people on the boards :scared1: Obviously people who have never had to deal with chronic illness.. like say... oh dialysis that costs approx $375 per treatment to stay alive. :rolleyes1

But hey what do I know? We are the scum of the US that use government sponsored health care. How dare my family "take" their money against their will... oh wait, they choose to live in the US.. hmmmmmmm

For every 20 dork posters, there were maybe 2 that actually understood that arguing right vs responsibility is not the correct standard to use. And had the facts to back up what they were saying-- ahhh knowledge is a powerful thing. :goodvibes

Okay, here are the pics of the makeover:
