The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I KNOW!! A 10lb roll of summer sausage. OR.. one of those gigantic containers of soy sauce from costco.

I went back to work today. I am feeling a lot better and the coughing fits have died down (thank God!). I'm still going to finish my antibiotics and cough syrup.

:thumbsup2 Good! and YES finish the meds. Otherwise you could end up sicker then before.

Definitely! You wouldn't believe how many people stop the antibiotics because they feel better. The bug just comes right back, and nastier! :scared:

I stopped at my favorite local candy/coffee shop after work. I walk in and these 2 teenage girls stop talking and start whispering

I head to the next room (the store has 2 rooms: one for candy and coffee and the other for gifts and collectibles) and start browsing. All of a sudden someone sneaks up behind me and startles me for a second with an "Excuse Me" :scared1: Then I look at it's one of the teen girls I had seen and she asked where I got my purse (it's the Tokidoki for hello kitty bag). I told her it's from Japan and she says: "It's so cute!! My friend and I love it!!" :)

Glad you are feeling well enough to get back to work, pix. I hope the pile on your desk wasn't insurmountable!

That's true. Some people think that just because they feel fine and are back to their old self that they could just stop taking the antibiotics. :scared: I really don't want to become even more sick and I don't want to stay couped up at home again! I'm not used to being at home and it was honestly really boring and most of the time I was out cold because my meds made me drowsy (now I'm used to it and don't become as sleepy).

I was shocked because my customers sent me a bunch of orders but I got through everything and only stayed 10 minutes late today. I managed to catch up and I'll probably be busy tomorrow. I sent my customers a bunch of P.O.'s with my comments asking them to send me a revised copy (they had wrong pricing, etc).

I used to get so annoyed at the doctor's office when they'd tell me to take ALL of the medication. I mean, they'd mention it 2 or 3 times! I thought, "GOOD LORD, do they think I'm a moron?"

Then I read somewhere that something like 60 or 70% of people don't finish the entire treatment, they stop when they start feeling better. The percentage was staggering!

Sooo... Yeah, I guess they mention it 50 times because most of us ARE morons. :rotfl:

Wow, that's impressive that you got through it all in one day! :thumbsup2
Hopefully you won't have to work too late tomorrow when all those POs come back corrected. ;)

:rotfl2: It's true! Most people assume they are fine and don't need to finish the antibiotics. I really don't want to get sick again, it was not fun at all. At least it wasn't bronchitis like I had last year. :scared:

It's okay. I like to stay busy and I was glad I had a lot to do. :goodvibes

Nursey talk here:

Not finishing antibiotics and asking a doc for them for every little mild sniffle is why we have the "super bugs". The bacteria that are resistant to broad spectrum antibiotics, forcing docs to haul out the big ones that cause nasty side effects (hearing loss). :scared1: Or having to do some drastic surgery to reduce the bacteria.

Anytime hubby gets sick I kinda freak.. the baseline antibiotics don't work for him. They fill many scrips and try different ones to knock it out. Thankfully he's been fairly healthy.

Though he is going to ask for anti-depressants again. :guilty: The MN grey days of fall have caught up to him.
