The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I was looking through the cakes, agreeing that they are so adorable! Then I came upon the real reason you loved those cakes:

I agree, pix ~ very creative decorating! Just had to give you a bit of ribbing about the Juicy cake. ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: You know me too well!! :lmao: I found a pic of a Juicy cake that someone else had made and it was of a purse I have. It looked really awesome. I lost the link though.

Evening Ladies!

I'm back from our trip.

Had a great time in Vegas. Stupid stomach did the normal gall bladder thing. Megan knows what I'm talking about.:rolleyes1 We saw Bette Middler. Didn't care for her too much. The Venetian was gorgeous!! Had fun shopping!

Went to DL on Friday and met with about 17 ladies at the Cafe Orleans for dinner. That was super nice. Then I rushed off to to the Halloween party with my kids at DCA. We had alot of fun....................but my grandsons fell asleep way too soon, and they didn't get to enjoy very much of it. I wish they could start it sooner. There were so many cute costumes!!! Virtually no lines, except for Midway Mania. But we went there first, so we were able to get in 2 rides back to back. Shortly after the lines grew pretty fast for it.

Lot of candy, and dancing and games. We forgot about the parade until we came on to the end of it.

DL on Saturday was busy busy busy!! But we still managed to get alot done.

Went to Storytellers Cafe for dinner that night with all the family. Had never been there. Was very nice, and we had great service.

My feet are killing me. I think my favorite walking shoes have lost their support or something. Maybe next time I will try Crocs.

Hope all is well with everyone. Oh and I saw Albort in the distance, but we were on a roll to get to a ride, and I couldn't stop.

So HI Albort!!!

Melody! I'm glad that you had a good trip and got to hang out with some of the DIS ladies. I saw the pics on the thread and it looks like you all had a good time. :goodvibes

I'm not sure why this month is so crowded at DL (other than MHT). I keep reading posts where they say it's just too busy. :confused3 I'm thinking that I should wait until next month to hit the parks again. I still have a 2-day park hopper for my bf to use. I was thinking we could go some time next month and then use the 2nd visit for some time in December. :santa:

First I need to get over this dang cold. :headache: I feel a lot better but I mostly rested at home today. I got Jamba Juice awhile ago and they changed the design of their cups....same logo but bolder colors. :confused3

Wow... a place that I can actually buy newborn diapers by the case.

Have you considered a cloth diaper service. I had it with DD and LOVED it. Overall it was about half the price of disposable. They deliver a huge sack of freshly laundered diapers to your doorstep each week. Our service provided a diaper pail and deodorant tablets. You use velcro diaper wrap/plastic pants and they are very easy to use. No need to rinse out the diapers, they just have you dump any large pieces into toilet and flush away.

We were really bummed because they quit delivering to our area when DS was born. Honestly they were just as easy as disposables and didn't fill up our garbage can. I was worried that they would be a lot of work, but they weren't. I loooked online and notice that one of the Puget Sound diaper services even offers a twin discount, only about $10 a month more for double the diapers on multiples! Looks like 140 diapers a week for each baby would cost $104.11 per month. Not to mention that cloth diaper babies typically potty train sooner than disposable diaper babies.

Can you tell I liked my cloth diaper service.

Good morning, hyenas!
It's overcast and raining today, but doesn't seem too chilly. :umbrella:

I did a little online searching for the best price on the Twilight books 3 and 4 (Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.) I've been trying to wait for the paperback version of Eclipse, but found out that it isn't going to come out until next April!

GEESH, how do they expect me to wait so long??? :rotfl:

So I'm gonna have to try to get it from the library (I have never seen such a long waiting list for a book! ) or break down and buy the darn things. Or... the friend who borrowed my first two books? She wants to buy 3 and 4. She got hooked bad!!! :rotfl2:

So if I can stand to wait for her to read them, then lend them to me... So many things to consider... :scratchin

Oh, and she asked if I wanted to go with her to see the movie when it comes out. YES!!! WOOHOO!!! :yay:

Wow, where did the morning go? It's time to get the little beastie already!

See you later maybe? :)

UGH. Why did Chinese food have to sound so good today?
Why did I have to get it from the deli at the local grocery store? :headache:
My belly is killing me!
Will I ever learn?
I already know what Dizzy would say: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

OK, I"m feeling better now, and sipping on some tea. :surfweb:

DH just got home from work early today (he's coaching tonight) and crawled into bed to "rest" a bit. DS4 is giggling and squealing like a maniac, so I doubt there is any rest going on, but it's NOT LIKE HE WAS NAPPING ANYWAY... :sad2:

I'm going to the school in a bit to pick up the big boy, so it's nice that I don't have to drag along the munchkin, I can just dash down there and get back quickly. There were just several big booms of thunder, so I presume the heavens will open up to a downpour any moment. Just in time for my walk... Welcome to my world. :lmao:

We have looked at it, and the one that delivers to my area doesnt do apartments. And when we figured out the cost... it ended up being about $30 or $40 more then disposables. Otherwise, we would be all over it. I wanted to do cloth diapers with one.. but when you add that second baby in.. a lot of the stuff I wanted to do is no longer going to happen.

Actually I think I am knocked with allergies. I swear one more day of this sneezing and I might try that product Alison pushes. :rotfl2: I'm terrified of nasal sprays though.

I think Morgan's ankle is better. We have aDR's appt tomorrow to find out.

I painted or well, primed over Jakes Nemo paint that was in his room. He was too embarrassed to have friends over with it and he wanted a big boy room. We are thinking Pirates theme but he keeps changing his mind on what color to paint it. Right now the primer is light Gray. I left the tape up so I have to paint it soon. anyway I'm sad to see the Nemo gone. :sad1:

I'm so sleepy, I think the Xyrtec did it to me that Jeff gave to me today.

I said I was getting sick and the thought it was allergies. I really dont get allergies but sometimes I feel I have them. around cats for example. :lmao:

Anyway, I just think its the climate change illness I always get when I travel anywhere where the temp or humidity is different. My body just does not take it very well.

Oh yes, thank you for asking. I'm at that annoying can't-clear-my-throat stage, but otherwise good. ;)

DH and DS8 are off at the gym, for DH to coach a 5-6yo soccer team. DS4 and I went to DS' gymnastics class, and now we're home. He's reeeeeeally whiney! He didn't nap today, and as we headed to gymnastics I realized his ears were fire-engine red. (Both boys get red ears when they're tired.) He whined we we got home that he was hungry, so I gave him a gigantic banana, and he was happy. Five minutes later he was back, whining about STILL being hungry, so after awhile I caved to the whining and let him eat a string-cheese stick. He just snarfed it and is whining yet again. He is driving me nuts!!! :sad2:

I think I've gotten a cold every time we've gone to DL. Somebody told me that it was either from all the germs on the plane flight, or perhaps from the climate change. I never really believed in the latter before, but since I've had it happen more than once... :confused3

Oh my!!! Sounds like a day to get a margarita after they go to bed then! The salt will help your throat. That is my Doctorly advice. :lmao:

Bright red ears? Well, at least you k now what the problem is when they are tired. I wish my kids had a signal like that. Usually they just yell at eachother and I dont know if its normal business or tired business going on. :lmao:

I have often wondered how my body would take the midwest weather that I used to have when I was younger. Could be 70 degrees in the morning and 25 degrees and snowing by dinner. I just cant take major changes and going in and out of air conditioning soaking wet with all that humidity that I'm not used to breathing reallly weakens my body and makes the germs LOVE me. At least that is how my DR explains it. He says cold weather doesnt make you get sick but you generally are weaker in colder weather or temp changes so more likely for germs to attack you! :scared1:

Ok unfortunately I have to get Morgan off to cheer tonight. She is not doing it but she has missed so much that she needs to go and makeup one so she is sitting and watching tonight. I dont want her messing up her ankle before I talk to the DR and get the all clear to go back to activities.

See ya later, Shawna! I hope Morgan isn't too bummed about the ankle. :)

Okay.... So does anyone know what I should get my hubby for Christmas?? I was thinking a video game or 2. Obviously, with the babies coming, things are tight. I have Mikalah, Alex, my mom, and my sisters family all picked out for. Ohhhh.. and I guess we should figure something out for his mom and brother... Right? popcorn:: Shoot. Oh well. Im the wife, its my job to figure this crap out, right? :sad2:
