The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

Ohhh wow, I remember crying so hard at stupid Hallmark commercials. :rotfl2:

And I'm talking gut-wrenching sobbing, it was insane!!!

That must be hard. I'm naturally a crier, but I HATE to cry in public.

DH can tell when I'm about to cry, I always thought it was really weird; he would hand me a tissue, and I'd say, "What's this for?" then BOOM! Waterworks! :lmao:

He finally admitted that when I'm upset I get this little dimple in my chin, then my chin will wobble a bit. As I realize I'm about to cry and try to hold it back, my chin and lip start to quiver. :rotfl:

Did she have GD? I had GD with DS8, and when we delivered at 37.5 weeks, he was 8 lbs. 3 oz. and very chubby. I had done very well at keeping the GD under control with diet, but in the last few weeks of the pregnancy I got Bell's Palsy. We treated it with a steroid (the doc said it wouldn't harm the baby at that point), and the meds made my blood sugars skyrocket!

I worried about that, too, but she said it was better NOT to go on insulin, and in the last few weeks of the pregnancy, the worst it would do would make the baby chub up. And it did. He was only 19" long, and had the fattest little cheeks. :lovestruc

Nope... just massive babies! I had a friend with gd, and she had a 10 pounder!

It has happened before when I was making something that required lots of time standing over the hot oven/stove area. Or if I get up too quick. I am going to add it to my list of things to bring up.

hmm, hubby gets "hot and dizzy" when his blood pressure bottoms out. The standing up fast and then feeling dizzy is a sign that it may be a blood pressure issue (Orthostatic hypotension). Which is very normal in any pregnancy, think about it.. you have this larger need for blood/fuids to move around your body to support the growing fetus(es) and the placenta and everything else is umm growing as well. It takes a bit more effort for the body to circulate the blood.

Orthostatic hypotension sounds scary.. but basically it's stand up and your blood pressure goes down.

Do you legs get heavy/ achy with standing? You may have varicose veins, sluggish blood flow in the veins of the leg nad causes "pooling" (and umm that is basically what hemmorhoids are.. varicose veins of your butt.)

Hiya, G! :)

Whoops! Didn't realize it was so late. I better go make sure DS4 isn't still napping :headache: and figure out what we're gonna have for dinner!

I had N on his due date 8 pounds 9 oz.

J was two weeks overdue and he was 7 lb 12 oz

I was a bigger baby, which I've read makes it more likley that your children will be larger.

My sis had scrawny kids under 7 pounds with the full termers. And of course the lil peanut  but that doesn't really count considering...

Mmmhhhmmm.. I was a 9 pounder. Hubby was well over 10 pounds. Alex was on time, 8.9 Mikalah was 2 weeks early, and 8 even.

My sisters kids were both small.. but.. I know she smoked.

:lmao: It's a lot to take in and keep track of. :goodvibes

But do make sure to tell your doc. That reminds me.. E has a clinic visit this week, gotta remind him to make a list so he remembers everything. OY!

Time to update all of his meds and get referrals to a bunch of specialists. Things he had put off while he was waiting for insurance to get resolved.

I may have to beat him a little, he needs an MRI for his head (which he hates) and either a CT or another MRI to check his hip .. can't remember what they did to check his knee last time. Not sure is Xray is enough to pick up any of the bone changes related to his knee isssue.

He's been grumpy, a sign that something hurts. :rolleyes1 But of course to have him admit that and do the tests..... :sad2:

My sis had blood pressure issues at the end of pregnancy for full term boys.

We should start betting on how many pounds, week of delivery, etc..

:lmao:

Ugh.. I am having the worst time trying to keep track of things. I feel like I am brain dead most of the time.

I didn't tell you.. hubby liked the brisket so much that he went to Super Target and bought another one. :rotfl:

Made that one yesterday but it got done rather late in the evening.. had it for lunch and dinner today. :goodvibes
