The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

Another of my best friends goes to this every year. I went one year, many years ago. It was probably smaller then, because she describes so many things that I didn't see back then.

It will be a lot of walking/standing, don't you think? How are you doing with that these days?

Horrid. :sad2: I cant even go grocery shopping. This blows butt cheeks. I went when i was pregnant with Alex. It was in Early Dec... I had him at the end of January, and had NO PROBLEM. Dang. Talk about feeling like a freaking invalid! Did I tell you that Frelan canceled our trip Great Wolf Lodge? He thinks I cant handle it. :sad2: He is probably right.

I tell ya. We've been worried sick about her, because she was only getting about 3 hours of sleep a night, was so stressed all the time. Somehow she wsa still a sane person and a fantastic mom WHEN she was with the kids, but it's just too much for any one person to try to handle. I am sooo glad she is quitting, and so glad her husband has been so supportive through her crazy hours, and continues to be so when she said she had to get out!

Holy cow three hours of sleep??

Well good for her! I bet knowing someone who took the leap herself helps too. :goodvibes

Why does he think that will be too much? Honestly, I would have LOVED to just sit in the water and get that weight off my back for awhile! That would have been heavenly! :thumbsup2

I was hoping your round ligament pain would fade away. Guess not ? That does suck!

Yeah, we talked about it a LOT. She also talked with DH a lot. He was as blunt with her as he is about everything. "It isn't going to get better. They think you can handle it because you've BEEN handling it all this time. You either have to TELL them to cut it back, or you have to get out of this role, or you have to leave. Period. This is enough, it's not good for your health, not good for your marriage, and not good for your kids."

She was crying, and kept saying, "I know. I KNOW you're right!"

I felt so bad. She's like DH in that she will work like a dog to do the very best she can. Unfortunately she (and DH) can't seem to hit the brakes when it becomes unhealthy, they MUST excel. So... yeah, I'm seeing a little irony in their conversation.

He wants to go when I will be able to enjoy the slides.. He thinks that I will feel left out, and not have much fun.. and be really uncomfortable. He is probably right... I WOULD want to go on the slides, and hang out with the kids.

He is generally not one to put his foot down on things.. He is VERY much a laid back, not make waves kinda fella. But DANG. He has been putting the SMACK down lately. :rotfl2:

Hello Hyenas!

I went Michael's and helped my grandma find paints for her toll painting class. I had a coupon for 40% off and used it to buy white fondant. I also got a fondant smoother and am going to use it on the hello kitty cake. I plan to get jelly beans later for the eyes and nose and some licorice strings for the whiskers. :)

I'm currently at a Vietnamese noodle place. So how is everyone? I have horrible allergies due to the wind :(

So when DH got home, he was telling me all his news about work, his doctor appointments, the MRI, etc. today. When he was done I said, "So I was just talking with Staley, and --"

DH: Oh? And how does it feel to be an ark?
Me:  :rotfl2:

DH: Don't tell her I said that.
Me: Why not? It's funny!
DH: No, not when you're the pregnant one. Don't tell her I said that. She'll probably drive up here and try to kick my ***!
Me: :lmao:

Gee... Did I even tell him the big news??? :confused3

It does make me wonder what I was like as a pregnant woman. Maybe I didn't have much of a sense of humor?

I do remember crying a lot more than normal...
