Julie mentioned ferris "reads" the hungry caterpiller.

Thought i would mention My little sister who turned 5 like a month ago was obsessed with that book. she memorized the whole thing and would flip though it and "read" it and the way she "read" it was just to cute especially when she said "But he was still hungry"

I love the Hungry Caterpiller

It is the 40th Anniversary of the original book and we have loads of special edition books, bags, plushies etc in the shops :goodvibes

Very cute :)

A great book, up there with the Jolly Postman for my favourite childhood literary memories :)

:goodvibes

I love that book too!

I read it to the kids I work with especially one of the kids (with Down Syndrome too actually) LOVES that book, which is especially odd because she is on liquid food. I guess its all about the butterfly at the end! :goodvibes

It is the little boy who I work with favourite book too. It is in his school bag everyday. His language skills have come on sooo much and he has an amazing memory for the book :goodvibes

I just heard Julie say that she is taking Ferris to signing, which is great, but I wanted to ask what kind? Is it special baby signes, American Sign Language or adapted?

I personally know a little Makaton (which is a more privative form of British Sign Language developed especially for kids with special needs) which is very useful at work!

I just love that book - I will have to look out for the 40th Anniversary Ed. (in case we have kids ;))

That is such a classic children's book. When my eldest was a baby Carter's had a line of clothing with that theme. I bought just about everything! I suppose, my fond memories of it from when I was young helped to fuel that buying spree.

I am also in love with Eric Carle's book titled "Little Cloud". A very simple, understated, but awesome book

My DS loves this book too. It's such a great classic.

And he also loves the Belly Button book Julie mentioned. The Belly Button book is adorable-all of the books by Sandra Boynton are creative and cute!

It was a favorite in our house along with "The Mixed-Up Chameleon", "The Very Quiet Cricket" and "The Very Lonely Firefly".

My Evan loves the Brown Bear book, I bet he would love the hungry caterpillar book too. Guess I am going to be in the book department this weekend.

Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear are favorites in our house.
DD2 "reads" Hungry Caterpillar with Grandma over Skype video chat - they each have a copy of the book, 1000 miles apart. It's just priceless. The wonders of modern technology paired with a classic children's book. ;)
