I'm not going to fill up this forum with X vs Y, but I would like to hear opinions on these two rides.

The Hulk looks amazing and the launch is an experience one could never tire of. However, parts of the ride are a little rough.

But Duelling Dragons is a better ride in our experience. More intense.

The Hulk, we came off saying....well all sorts of "wow"-type expletives. After coming off DD, I had to sit on the pavement 'cos my legs were shaking...now THAT'S a ride.

The Hulk and Duelling Dragons are the main reasons for us visiting IOA. I think The Hulk is brilliant and it's my fave ride anywhere. Whereas my DD's love Duelling Dragons the best. :)

I think both are brilliant.

I'm not a great lover of heights so the catapult start of the Hulk wins it for me as I find the first drop in Duelling Dragons a bit scary.

On the hulk it isn't a huge difference where you sit (although I like the front the best). I find that there's a bigger difference in Duelling Dragons where the front row makes it a much better ride.

I like both but my fav has got to be Hulk, purely for the beginning.

Hulk for me at the moment but i intend to catch the Q for the front of the fire dragon this time then it may change.

They're both good but IMO Hulk is the all round better ride / experience. The start of Hulk is simply the best I've ever had on a coaster.

DD is a great ride but I suspect that you only really get the most out of it if you get the chance to ride at the front.

I thought that they were both great. I think the Hulk has the better launch, height, speed and views. But I would say that the DDs are the better rides that pull faster turns and loops.

I should also point out that if you want to catch the best Gs on a coaster you should alway sit in the back row. You will find the ride far more intense there although the view does suffer.

Thanks,
Stephen.

Hi

My dh prefered the Hulk prefers the Kraken overall.

I prefer the Hulk and Kraken only because the duelling dragons broke down shortly before I boarded and the ride was out of synch. We never had any near misses we were both running seprerately apparently that was what made the Duelling Dragons so good

Another vote for the Hulk, the catapult does it for me-Just think how much better it would have been if they could have pulled off the water splash!
SD :firefight

Probably the hulk for me, too! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to try out Sheikra at Busch Gardens, though! ;)

Dueling Dragons for me, I agree with the OP. Specifically the red one, I like the drops :teeth:

I have to day I perfered Dueling Dragons, specifically Ice back row. I liked Hulk but I was dissapointed by the launch at the start. From the reviews I have heard I thought it would be faster and better than what it was (I prefer the launch on Rock n rollercoaster more and Rita at Alton Towers.) I did enjoy the rest of the ride a lot though, especially riding the back row.

As for Sheikra, I enjoyed the ride a lot, but again was dissapointed. The drops were not as intense as I had hoped for. I have ridden Oblivion at Alton Towers a lot of times and as the drop was bigger on Sheika I thought it would be a better ride, but unfortunately I didn't think it was. On Sheikra though I think I had too high expectations of the ride to start with.

Both Hulk and DD are good - however if comparing take-offs aerosmith RR is one hell of a takeoff, I am just back after a three week break and 100% have the holiday blues.... :bitelip:

went on them this morning and its still hulk for me.
ill be trying shiekra on monday or tuesday

Good, yes. But on the flat and IMHO not as exciting as Hulk....and the rest of the RR ride was pants. It was a bit of a letdown for us. I could happily take the family back to Orlando and none of us would be bothered if RR was missed out.

IMHO the Hulk is definitely the better of the two. My reasons:

1. Universal Express - On The hulk you are in a dedicated express line, whereas with DD you enter in with the regular line and the queues can get too much.

2. The hulk is like no other ride I have experienced. I can never tire of going on it. The launch is worth the wait alone. With Duelling Dragons I would say it is very similiar to Nemesis at Alton Towers and even though that was special 10+ years ago, it isn't now.

Cheers

IMO both are excellent rides. I agree with Mandy ~ both rides are one of the reasons we visit IOA the other being to eat at Mythos restaurant. I like the Hulk but my favourite is DD Fire.

I like both the same. But as a whole, it's too bad that these two coasters have wonderful theming throughout the waiting-line, and stations but then the theming basically stops as soon as you leave the station. (Except, maybe, for the color of the track!). Still...great fun! (And at least more theming than most of Six Flag's coasters!).

My favorite IOA attractions are Spiderman, Dudley Do-Right, and Popeye's. Also like Jurassic Park RA, Dueling Dragons, Hulk, and Cat in the Hat.
