After reading so many brilliant trip reports on here I have decided to take the plunge and do my own PTR - wether this will eventually lead to an actual trip report/dining report who knows.:confused3

The Cast:
Me (Sue) - Planner, booker and will be turning 40 whilst away.:scared1:
DH (Bill) - Goes along with whatever I suggest.:thumbsup2
DD (Evie) - Age 4, sleeps with Piglet and loves My Friends Tigger & Pooh.:cutie:

Brief History:
Bill and I met in 1994 and went to Florida for the first time (together - Bill had been once before with his mate) in 1996. Not really knowing much about Disney at that time I just went along with the flow - we booked a multi-stay trip that had a week in Orlando (Days Inn :scared1: ) followed by 3 nights in Hollywood Beach, 3 nights in Key Largo and then back to Orlando for the last night. The only parks we did were MK and MGM. My how things change!!

After getting married in 1997 (in Jamaica) we kind of settled into a routine of going to Florida one year, the Caribbean the next. In 2001 we finally made the plunge and bought into DVC (our home resort is BCV) so also went in 2003 using our points. This was also the year that Bill turned 40 so I had planned a surprise trip to Las Vegas with some friends - not telling him where we were going until we met up at the airport!! This will obviously set the bar for my 40th a few years later.

Moving onto 2004 and I am pregnant with Evie so we manage a short trip to DLRP, followed by others in 2005 and 2006 as Evie is too young for "Big Disney". Finally, she gets to go in 2007 when we do a stay at BCV, Clearwater and SSR.

The Special Birthday Bit:
We knew that we would be returning to WDW in 2009 and, as we prefer the end of August/beginning of September, it meant we would be away for my 40th on the 27th August. Now remember that trip to Las Vegas for Bill's 40th - when I mentioned him doing something for my 40th the reply was "well we will be at WDW won't we". Hmmmm, me thinks I need something more.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We are now at March 2008 and I read a thread on Dis about DCL which sets the little cogs in my brain working. What about a cruise for my birthday? So, I set about looking into this. Well, would you believe it - they do a 3 night cruise on the Disney Wonder departing on my birthday calling at Nassau and Castaway Cay. What could be better you might ask - well a 4 night cruise departing a few days later giving us an extra day at sea all for a few hundred $$'s more!! So that was that - it was suggested to Bill that this would be a nice little extra for my birthday and I set about booking. The very excellent Beth at Dreams Unlimited replied to my numerous emails quickly and efficiently with the result that we are sailing on the Disney Wonder on 30th August for 4 nights of sun, sea and stuffing our faces. Because we booked so early we got a really good price (cheaper than on the DCL website) and also got $100 onboard credit which I am sure will be put to good use. We have also managed to get one of the secret veranda rooms. Just out of interest, I checked the prices on the DCL website last week and boy they have gone up - a Cat 11 is now the same price as we paid for a Cat 7!!

Well I hope I haven't bored you all to sleep - if I have "WAKE UP AND GET SOME WORK DONE!!!!" - and that you will join me for the next exciting/boring (delete as necessary) installment.

Coming up next:
How many times can I change our flights and accomodation?

I think you were originally on our cruise but then changed dates. I was the one who had set up the cruise meet thread for our dates. We are staying at SSR but I have just checked and found that they have availability at BLT for the night of my birthday. Who knows, this may be yet another change to our plans!!
