My DD will be 9 in November. She's asked for a Nintendo DS specifically so she can get the Nintendogs game.

We have Nintendogs and LOVE it. The DS is pretty cool with the touch screen and my boys play each other with the wireless capability (they each have a Nintendo DS).

We are getting her more Thomas the Tank Engine stuff. She has the figure 8, expansion set, the bolder mountian set, the round house, etc. But they are very durable (how would you break that track!) and she can use her imagination all she wants. Some times Dad has to play and it is all down hill from there. (Imagine animals on the tracks, damsils in distress, etc.)

Someone was posting about a batman tv. We are looking at that too. I've seen it at toys r us for $109 and walmart for $98. Would be nice if they did a roll back on that!

Am I the only one? All my DS (8) wants are XBOX games. Well, he wants a dirt bike too, but...

No, I asked DS(9) what he was putting on his Christmas list and all he said where video games - between him and DH they have all the console video games, i.e., X-Box (on it's last leg), PS2, and Gamecube.

I thought games are $50.00 - you can't get too many before it adds up and it would look like he got nothing for Christmas if there were only 4 things under the tree so I'm going to get him a Nintendo DS for when we travel since he has NO HAND HELD SYSTEMS and the Nintendo DS also plays Gameboy Advance games and he has NONE so that opens up a lot of possibilities and I can probably find some really cheap Gameboy Advance games now.

I can't think of anything else to get a 9 year old except maybe a CD player - they grow up way TOO FAST!!!!

My DS (5) want the Spongebob - OOps I ripped my pants! I swear that is a real toy. It does nothing except sing a stupid song and bend over (hence the ripping pants). :teeth: He wants it so badly he tore the picture out of a WalMart flyer, circled it with an ink pen, and posted it on the refrigerator. The silly thing costs $28.00 and he will never play with it! I'm going to have to work on talking him out of it.... :rotfl2:

I am getting a bunch of my daughter's stuff from Mindware. It is a company that has educational games that really are fun. One game in particular called Blokus us a blast...and good for lots of ages to play together.

I just went down the list asking DD5 what the toys were and she knew everything but the fly pen, which I still don't understand what that is all about! She didn't say what she wanted though.

DH & I saw the commercial and could not believe this was a real toy! And that people would buy it! DS5 is NOT getting this! I think he would choose a leapster cartridge for the same amount of money.

Every Memorial Day we usually camp at a campground near Santa's Village. Our DD asked Santa for Belle and Tinkerbell dresses. She's still asking for them so I think I'm all set.

During the Disney Direct shopping frenzy I bought Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Belle and Tinkerbell dresses. So, that's her big gift--a box of dresses, wands, crowns, shoes. Other than that she's getting a few DVD's, Disney Dollars and a few toys I picked up on clearance after Christmas last year. All her gifts this year will be Disney themed as we will be there for Christmas.

I also bought her the deluxe Belle dress for her Birthday (Nov). It's beautiful! However, I'm really dispointed as it is extremely long. In fact it's 5 inches longer than the regular Belle dress in the same size. I'm going to keep it but it will be too long for her to wear during our trip to Disney this Christmas. BTW--the trip was the reason I bought it.

OR I guess I'll have to pray she grows another 4 inches (won't happen as she just went through a growth spurt). Another option is to buy a pair of the sneakers with a heel on them and alter the dress so it's a few inches shorter.

She will be 4 in Nov. She has a size 4/5 Cinderella dress from last year. I ordered the above dresses in size 6/6x because her dress from last year is getting short and hard for her to put on. She's approx. 36 pounds and 42 inches tall.

sorry, I guess I went OT. Anyway, my shopping is done except for a battery operated Belle toothbrush for her stocking. Yes, I've got all the stocking stuffers as well. Now I need to work on my husband's gifts. We agreed not to buy anything but I never listen! he he

I going to try to figure out a way to alter it (without ruining it)

TIP: go to a craft store, in the fabric department, get some BASTING GLUE.
This will hold the hem in her dress untill you wash it. It is a handy item when you need temparary hem.

You're not alone! lol My 8 yr old sons list only consist of game stuff. He wants a new Gameboy Advance SP (his broke), Kingdom of Hearts 2 (darn thing comes out like a week before Christmas, we'll definately be pre-ordering), the new Mario Dance Dance Revolution, and several other games for Gamecube and Gameboy.

I actually sat with my kids and we looked at amazon.com for ideas to make a santa list. This was really the first year that my twins had very differant lists. I am hoping there are not meltdowns when they open and there is only one of them. I am a little surprised I don't see any of thier must haves here?

Twin ds's just turned 5. Both are getting a fur real; friend. Dog its a new predicted hot item this year. The v-smile paint station, v
smile games. Shake and go cars to share, ( both asked for that) Twin number one asked for the Krypto the Superdog series, hes getting the complete set plus the rocket ship. elefun game, and alot of dog realted stuff, Puppy surprise, cold nose pups. and alot of artsy stuffy paints and the like. Twin number 2, is getting a whole slew of justice leauge batman figures and then the majority of his wish lists all manner of cars. The new rev-ups that are all over the TV...

Ds 11 was also very specific, Nintendo dogs, New x men game, the newest
Mario game sorry can not remember the name? alot of wrestling figures. and a mega blocks dragon castle thingy...

dd 18, Is getting an IPOD, IPOD skins, 6 DVDS, and a pac man plug and play game as a joke.

There is ton of stuff in the garage here, I am drawing a blank on the boys stuff allready? Basically I spend $300 per child. I keep lists and make sure it is even with the dollar amount.

any new stuff they see on tv and want becomes the Nana and grampy toy list. Does anyone have the new Fisher price sketching thingy, It's kind of like a pixter? I was wondering about that one?

I saw you mentioned the Elefun game, I just wanted to let you know that we have this game and it's junk. We got one and exchanged it because it was missing pieces and the second one we got the fan doesn't blow hard enough for the little butterflies to come out. We were disappointed because it's such a cute game, we tried changing the batteries and it didn't help.

Also are you talking about the Pixter color or is there another newer one out? If it's the Pixter color we got that for DD 9 for her birthday and all of my kids love it. It's sturdy, too, my baby drags it around by the pencil thingy and it's held up really well. The one we got came with an adapter so you could play the old Pixter cartridges on it, too. I think my DS 4 plays with it the most. :)

My dd got Elefun for Christmas last year and we've had no problems with it at all. It gets played a lot around here. Dh and I even join when they play, it's so fun! :flower:

I agree about Elefun! We've had ours for years and it still works and I do daycare!! It's especially fun for really little ones who are too young for boardgames!!

A Yo Stick is about a 10 inch stick that has a retractable string in the center with a loop on the end you use to do tricks with like a yoyo
like that ---------i----------

I agree the spongebob toy is odd- Least it comes in a nice box...

For us Elefun come in waves- We've had periods of lots returned then we go about 6 months without any returned so I think it could be manafacturing issues- It does well though :)

Elefun is so cute. Mine loved that game until some kid came over and lost all the butterflies..

Mine are still really easy- all disney princess stuff and power rangers. I just buy when its all on sale and hide it until the holidays. Of course the big gift this year for dd is the Barbie Pegasaus set. It seems to be that way every year and closer to christmas it becomes kinda hard to find them. I bought hers at the buy 2 get one free at TRU. They already have their leapsters and Vsmile so that wont be a issue to find this year. I did get them those disney sketchers though- I hope they turn out be liked as much as their leapsters.

Just subscribing to this interesting thread!

We almost missed out on Baby Annabelle last year so I'm curious what's big for little girls this year :wizard:
