The Hot New Toy For Christmas is...

I just ordered the Go Go TV and Whack-A-Mole game for my Niece (3) and Nephew (5) from Amazon. It really looks like fun, I just hope that it works as promised!

If you have a Target near you, you should check there. It's on clearance, some stores have it for 12.48, mine is still at 29.98 and $9.98 for the extra games (whack a mole and tennis).

I'll have to check it out tomorrow. It would be so typical of me to pay full price for something and then find it the next day for half price!

Well, thanks to the suggestions on here I am going to get my DS6 a Gamecube for Christmas. I know a new one is coming out next year sometime but he really wants a game system and TRU has one in the ad this week for $129 but it comes with 4 games ( Pokeman, Scooby, Madagascar & Spongebob) I figure that it would easily cost that much just for the games. And they will fit in the new system coming out if we decide to upgrade in a few years. I'm hoping to get there today so they don't run out of these packages.

Has anyone bought the Care Bear Share Bear yet? I was at Target during my lunch break and it looks really cute! I was surprised at how clear his voice was. I'm hoping to find something that "talks" for dd. And the amazing amanda kind of creeps me out!

Sams CLub had a good bundle pack last year - you might want to call them. (I don't know if it is better than your TRU one or if they even have one this year).

Thanks. I will definitely check that out. Never thought of looking at Sams for these. They usually have pretty good prices.

Did anyone buy their kids Video Now XP last year? I am looking to buy it for my handicapped 11 yr old. To keep in busy in lines and at restaurants In Nov/ Dec trip. He tends to have some meltdowns. Thanks for all the info you can give me.

>>By the way, TRU had those slips to purchase items and 1st I was told that it didn't come out until 10/16/05..Well, a few minutes later he (manager) said they had the okay to sell them!
<<

Well lets hope THEY dont get the fun warning that we got when someone put them out 2 weeks early.... nice hefty fine if one more got sold :P

OMG! Thanks for posting this, my DH went to Target tonight and got the console for $14.99 and three games for $5.00 each!!! What a bargain!
Of course, my Amazon order is already shipping but I can take the things back to Toys R Us for store credit.

As for Dream Life, Tamogs and all the "hard to get items" so far- Amazingly those havent done well yet at my store and we still have good supplies of them...

As for the Video Now- I still hate the product no matter how they change it every year- I would lean and get a real personal DVD player (yes it costs more) but the money you spend to get the little 8-10 dollar discs that have about 30 min of product on them- isnt worth it-

By the time you spend the 50/60 for the player buy 3-4 discs youve spent almost as much as a real DVD player that will last LOTS longer in usablility- be much more versitle and cheaper in the long run if the kid likes it and wants more discs

Plus my repect for the brand is pretty low as they dont seem to have a stable product

AWESOME!! I'm glad you were able to find it :flower:

We are planning to get the V-smile (not pocket) for xmas for my ds. I know to get the adapter. Should I get two joy sticks or just the one that comes with it? If I want to play with him is another needed?

I believe to play the VSmile in 2-player mode you need to have 2 joysticks. Although when you play in 2 player mode and it's the next players turn you just resume the game in the same spot so you would be able to play in 1-player mode and take turns with the joystick.

My DD9 won't be getting this either. It looks like a really expensive gadget. The kind of thing that everyone wants to try out on Christmas and for a few days and then gets cast aside. I've bought plenty of those gifts. I don't mind if it's something for $20 - $30 but for the price of this plus all the accessories we will definitely wait and see if it has staying power. For that price, it would need to be a favorite.

This thread has been a big help to me.

DD9 decided that she would rather have a Karaoke machine than an IPOD. A good decision, I think, since she loves music/dancing but rarely uses a walkman and headphones. She wants the music to fill the room.
I got the TRU BOGO for Dream Life and I will pick up a Pixel Chick. She loves Tomamgotchi so I think she will enjoy these.

I did get an IPOD for DH's birthday last Friday and will be getting DS20 one for Christmas.

I noticed that TRU had some karaoke machines on green tag clearance and it is 50% off green tags. I think the one I saw was $120 and then 50% off of that.

Does anyone have the GOGO Tv? If so what are the ages? DD saw one and said she wants it, but she will be 10 at Christmas, I'm thinking it may be for younger kids?

CeeCee..just bought this @ Target for 29.88 (console) and additional games for 9.98. I've read thru this thread about some people were able to get the console for 14.98 and games for 5.00. I'm going to check out other Targets in my area to see if I can beat the price I have. My DS5 has been asking about this. I think he will enjoy it!

Unless some games are played differently than the ones we have (and I don't think they are) I think you'd be wasting your money to buy another joystick. I'd spend that money on another game.

I went to TRU last night and got the Gamecube Bundle that was advertised for $129. It included the Pokeman Special Edition Gamecube plus Pokeman Game, Scooby Doo Game, Madagascar Game and Spongebob Game. The cost of the games alone were close to $100 so I think that it was a great deal. And then when he rang it up it actually rang up at $119 instead (bonus).

Lynn (Previous poster)...

You got the GameCube plus 4 games?? I missed that one... we have a GameCube, but I would buy that and sell mine... hmmmm... guess I have to go to TRU this evening.

Yeah!! Isn't that a great deal. It was on the front page of their ad on Sunday. I went to Circuit City to see if they would match (I have some gift cards for them) but they said they couldn't touch it as they would be losing money.
