Oh what a night! - steady boys it's not what you are thinking

It's that radio alarm clock from next door again - Aaaarrggghhhh! Going off at 8:25 is one thing but going off at 5:25 is something else! And to make things even worse it's tuned to a Country & Western station!

At about 6:00 I give up and grabbed some blankets and move to the lounge where I try and get some sleep on the sofa. No luck, it's a bit uncomfortable. I took the cushions off the sofa, re-arranged the furniture, wrapped myself up and tried to get some sleep. In the meantime Alison put the TV on and dozed for a while until our alarm went off. The storm, wind and rain rumbled on but I must've managed some sleep as Alison woke me at about 8:15, to find it was still raining.

As I made breakfast for everyone (again) we had to make a decision about going to Busch Gardens to meet up with the Hunts. The weather was pants again with the rain coming down like stair-rods so we decided against it. We left a message on the Hunts answerphone and considered our options as time was getting on now.

Alison was feeling much better (other than lack of sleep!) but we decided to take our Beanoland ponchos (from Chessington) and go and cherry pick some of our favourite rides in MK that we hadn't covered yet.

By the time we arrived at 11:00 Alison was cursing about the time and champing at the bit to get some things done as she'd been awake since 5:25! That's the spirit but the rest of the troops, myself included, were still running at half-speed. As we went through the turnstiles the sun came out with a vengeance - it turned out to be a lovely day!

The park wasn't crowded at all (probably due to all the rain earlier) and Alison wanted to revert back to "Commando" tactics when I noticed the Barber Shop in Main Street. I remembered from Anita's Trip Report and pictures that Ted had his haircut here previously and as I needed a haircut I thought I'd give it a go.

There was only one family in the shop so in we went.

Me: Haircut, green colouring, Mickey head sprinkles and pixie dust
Laura: Red colouring, Mickey head sprinkles and pixie dust
Alexandra: Blue colouring, Mickey head sprinkles and pixie dust

Cost: $25 for all of us ($15 for the haircut for me, $5 for each of the girls for the colouring etc)

Nothing for Alison as she now has steam coming out of her ears and twitchy feet itching to make a move! (Alison here - not true! I just didn’t want to look an idiot like the rest of the family!! LOL)

Trivia bit: Did you know that the till, stove and chairs are all authentic? The Till and stove are from about 1910 and the chairs from about 1920 - 30.

Everywhere we went people spoke to us about our hair - where did we get it done, how much was it etc. The girls got loads of attention from the CMs and the characters!

Anyway, over to Buzz to get some FPs as the standby is about 25 mins, walk onto Peter Pan and then into Philharmagic. Philharmagic is a great show and the special effects are great, really enjoyed this. Back to Buzz where Laura gets a cracking score of about 210,000 and puts the rest of us to shame.

Quickly over to POTC including the infamous "hairy leg" and finish off at Haunted Mansion before going to Peco's Bills for lunch. We love this place - a definite family tradition to come here at least once every trip!

1 x Chicken salad
2 x Burger and fries
1 x Hot Dog and fries
2 x large sodas

Total cost: $28 (Not much less than Tony Roma's the other night!)

As we were finishing the parade came through, so we stood and watched it before queuing up for some more character autographs. This time it was Peter Pan and Wendy - who were VERY talkative - it took about 25 minutes to get to the front and there were only and 5 kids in front of ours!

Then we went to Toontown Fair for even more autographs and pictures. After this we took the railroad back to the Main Street entrance and rode in the front of the Monorail back to TTC, complete with co-pilot's licences.

After a quick swim for Alexandra we all showered and washed the hair dye out of our hair, the sprinkles took days to clear from the shower! Laura's choice for food was Pizza Hut, no surprise there then! - LOL

1 x large Square Pizza in 4 quarters (1 x Meat feast,1 x Super Supreme,2 x Cheese and Tomato)
1 x salad
1 x mixed starter (jalapeno peppers, onion rings, cheese, chicken nuggets)
4 x soft drinks

Total cost $28 - Great value but poor service due to lack of staff. There were only two people greeting, serving, topping up drinks, carry out orders and taking payments! They did the best possible in the circumstances and we left a 15% tip anyway.

On the way back we stopped in Walgreen's for a couple of odds and ends for us and the girls "couldn't resist" some cuddly toy bargains!

To try and make it a full day we pulled into Pirates Island (again!) which only cost us $18 this time as we were "repeat" customers. It started to spit with rain while we were playing but it didn't come to much.

Drove back and arrived back at about 9:30 and put the girls to bed.

Weather: wet to start with in the morning then bright, warm and sunny. A bit overcast later.

Plan for tomorrow: May try for Busch Gardens
