Day 15 – Tuesday, 14th August – Islands and Universal
Again breakfast in Orchid Court. My feet felt tons better as we headed over to Islands. Again FOTL passes were excellent making the need to get to these parks early obsolete.
We did the Hulk twice, they did Dr Doom, then Spiderman and Popeye – quite a few times. As a lass sat down on the Popeye ride she wiped the seat of water which I thought was a bit pointless knowing how wet you get on this ride. Dudley Do Right wasn’t working again which it hadn’t been for a few days. We did River Adventure then Duelling Dragons with both eldest and youngest. The hubbie doesn’t do this ride.
After Duelling Dragons we walked back to Popeye and had another few goes on this to cool us down before walking back to the hotel. The kids went off ahead to get back to the pool whilst we did a bit of gift shopping.
At the pool we found the Jacuzzi for the first time and no one was in it. Dipping one toe in we discovered why, it was red hot, hotter than your hottest bath which was a bit of shame because they are quite relaxing normally. Needless to say we didn’t go in it, we ordered some drinks and sat by the pool. When the drinks came me and hubbie headed over to a little beach area to watch the boats. I had a tsunami which was delicious. The youngest joined us and it was really pleasant, chatting on this little beach. After another drink we headed back to see the eldest and then back to the room.
We went back to Islands as I said I would do Dr Doom especially for my youngest. I have gone on it the last 2 years we have been but decided this year I didn’t like it so wouldn’t go on it. It is just the bit where your bottom leaves the chair at the top I don’t like, I must jump up about 6 inches off the seat. They don’t have this problem because they are taller than me. Anyway, maybe something to do with having two cocktails, I said I would go on it. Go on it I did, 3 times in a row and I loved it. Screamed everytime but did enjoy the views especially of the little beach by the Royal Pacific that we had sat on.
We nipped back to one of the shops to take some shorts back before heading over to Universal. We did the Mummy then had a chilli hot dog, followed by a ride on Jaws and MiB twice. We left the kids to perfect their scores on MiB whilst we did ET, before joining back up and heading back over to Jaws. We did some shopping before heading back to the hotel, my feet were absolutely goosed.
