The Holocaust

The Holocaust happened. It was horrible, evil, vile, sick, and twisted, but it happened. We won't forget it. Don't pretend that it never happened. Learn from the past and make sure those mistakes are never repeated.

That makes me almost cry to think that..

By the way, if you like books like that you should check out "The Secret of Gabi's Dresser" by Kathy Kacer. It's really good!

That book hardly talked about the actual Halocaust. It was a book about a Jewish girl, and in the end she has to hide in a dresser. It was like the author just didn't want to research the Holocaust.

If you want to know more about what actually happened in that time, I actually would NOT recommed this book.

I agree books about actual accounts would be better. Not fictional make believes.

Although they show a little insight are normally far off course.

Too bad it is happening again in Darfur though.:sad1:

I think the holocaust did happen because this Jewish gentlemen came into our school a couple of weeks ago, and he told us what had happened to him. It was shocking the way he had gone through the concentration camps. He also told us he saw all of his family killed in the holocaust.(He was the age of 10 when he saw them be killed) I personally thought he was very brave to stand infront of everyone and share his experiences with us. The one thing he did say was 'history cannot be fogotten, as this will all happen again.

Whoever blames you for what happened in the 1940's are some pretty stupid people.

Whoever says that just becasue you are German you are going to grow up to be a serial killer are stupid.

If that was me, I wouldn't take it. They're being rascist.

It was Hitler and the army and the officials and the churches the bureaucrats, the railroads, the post offices, chemical plants, and other places and people. These things all helped Hitler's journey to make everyone he thought to be below him dead. Killed by some of the most gross, sick ways of killing people.

I'm Russian, my grandmother as a child migrated to America with her mother and sisters. Don't even let me get started, about the stuff she tells me. Her stories, like I said don't let me get started...
My best friend at school is German. He loves Germany. He loves wars and guns. Sometimes I think he might attack people when he's older because he has this "When I Control The World" phase that he's been in for quite a while. I asked him several times if he's going to be a solider. He said he's going to be in the goverment. :confused3

Just lovely, thanks Allison. The fact that he is German has nothing to do with his love for violence.

I think it's just a male thing. They love things that have to do with violence. To tell you the truth, exploding things are fun though. I exploded a baloon in Science. :teeth:

I know that we need to dicuss things, and things can't be left unexplained. But there is a difference between explaining something, and talking about something; it's a little bit like grief.

When someone dies freinds and family talk about the deceased person, and sometimes you just don't want to relive those painful memories, not everyone likes to talk about it. The person's death of course has to be explained to you, (or else you won't understand and might think that it is your fault that they died. This is especally common in children) but it' not always comforting to talk about ther lives.

My point is that not everyone likes to hear about this kind of stuff. Why pain ourselves and over-analyze things? Why beat these topics to death by talking about it OVER and OVER again? We know what happened, we learn about it in school and things are explained to us. We learn from our mistakes. Can't we let things rest, and save people the hurt and unnecessary shame?

did you really just say that hitler was violent because he's a man? Are you joking, or is this a serious idea?

and SC, I understand what you're saying, thanks.

I'm not saying that Hitler was violent because he's a man. If this is going to start a fight nevermind. I was just stating my option. I'm with my guy friends during lunch, here's what they talk about:
Guns,
Wars,
Video Games (Rarely)
I'm not in any of those conversations. I asked my friend, Joey why guys always talk about violent things. He said "It's part of our genes."
Just to say, I did not say this.

okay, i'm not trying to start a fight with you, I'm just really confused. The word filter blocks what hitler was. You said that "its a guy thing" then you said "I'm not saying its because he was a man" then you said "its just my opinion." You're contradicting yourself.:confused3

The reason that I said that was because I thought someone would get offended by what I said. That's why I said that. I don't want to offend anyone.
