First time staying at WL,,where would one expect the King Resort view rooms to be located?

On any floor from 1 - 6 scattered along the north wing mostly on the outside of the building. On Floors 1-2 there are a few on the inner Courtyard side.

On Floors 4, and 6 they are scattered from the main building all along outside of the wing. There are only about 10 on fl 4, and about 6 on the 6rh floor.

In the MK but from the resort the best location would be the concrete area on the Bay Lake side of Geyser Point. You might also considering walking out toward the boat dock area as you will be on Bay Lake.

The area closest to the lake by Geyser Point has a good view. And you can hear the music. If you only want to see the fireworks and don't care about the music then there are fantastic views from the windows on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors. Just open the wooden shutters and you can see the castle. These windows are near the elevators just past Roaring Fork.

When we were there last week, we saw it from Geyser Point, but the music was very soft.

If you are a bit more adventurous, you could take the boat to the Contemporary. There is a viewing platform on the Concourse level that has a very nice view and the music was at correct level. If younger their early, there are even benches for the best views. There is a direct boat from WL to Contemporary (via Fort Wilderness). Would be a nice evening excursion on a non-park day.

In November, we arrived at the hotel at about 10:30pm and they still had one available!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Column Painting Complete

It appears crews have finished repainting the exterior columns of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We reported on the column repainting last month, when some columns had been stripped of brown wood-colored paint.
Now all the columns are back to their standard wood color and looking freshly painted. It’s possible there are still a few left to touch up.


We did see a pair of lifts parked near one wing of the resort. However, they weren’t in use during our recent visit and there were no crew members nearby.


This work is part of an ongoing exterior refurbishment to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. It’s scheduled through late 2026. The project started in the fall of 2025.

Disney warns guests the construction may impact views and they may see or hear work during daytime hours.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Boat Transportation Temporarily Pausing Again This Spring

The dock will undergo routine maintenance from April 13 through late July 2026. The dock will be fully closed and boat transportation suspended from April 13 through May 1.

Disney originally announced the dock would be refurbished from January through April and it was briefly closed in January.

From April 13 through late July 2026, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance. The dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from April 13–May 1.

It’s possible the rest of the maintenance was delayed to the spring and summer.

Will be staying at the resort in Oct. with a water view. Anybody who knows the Lodge well have recommendations on what areas of the resort and rooms one can request that you like very much also with a great view. No guarantees I understand.
Also there was a site where one could look at the views from each room on Disney World property which was not a Disney sponsored site and it was free. Anybody remember the name and if it still exists?

Touring Plans is the site with the room views, anyone can access that. They will send room requests as well, but you have to be a subscriber for that part.

The water view rooms face the courtyard. The rooms closest to Bay Lake will give you a sideways view of the lake. There are ten water view rooms that are at the end of the building and face the lake. They used to call these rooms courtyard view. They need to go back to the old categories.
