Day 5
Today we were going to MGM studios and after having breakfast at the POR food court we arrived at MGM a little after opening, we got some photo passes done before heading straight to Tower of Terror, DD was tall enough to ride so she went on with me while my mum did not want to ride as she has been on before and hated it, we get straight on without any wait and I loved it, DD loved going up and down however she is scared of the dark so hides her head in my lap. When it is over she lifts her head up and says it was excellent and everyone laughs as it looked like she was scared. We got of the ride and I brought DD a Tower of Terror pin to show that she was brave and went on the tower of terror and then she asked to go on again which we did, again she hid in my lap and the lady next to me asked if she was scared, she said only of the dark. We then went and met Mickey near the sorcerer's hat before watching the High School Musical prep rally as like most children DD loves High School Musical. A lady stood next to us pointed out that one of the cheerleaders was her daughter.
We then went to watch the little Mermaid and DD was asked to be first mate, the required her standing on a box and saying “welcome to the little mermaid”. It was such a simple thing however DD felt so special being chosen and I was so proud she spoke in front of everyone. I think it is great how Disney do these little things that mean so much to children. She was given a certificate which was signed by Ariel and Prince Eric. DD loved the show however my mum put a damper on it when she said she did not like the show as it was for babies, I was a little angry she said this in front of my DD who loved the show. After the little mermaid we go on the great movie ride and the queue takes ages, about 30minutes, we get hijacked by a cowgirl and in the scene where some fume/chemical fill the room did is petrified and screams "mummy is this real?" as she was not sure if it was part of the ride or not.
next we watch the car stunts show, this is almost the same as the DLRP one, however we still enjoyed it.
We then went to see the Indiana Jones show, it then started raining so we took shelter near the star wars ride, after the rain stops about 20minutes later it is almost time for the parade so we go and watch it. It a great parade with plenty of characters, and its great however they have so many characters on foot and they come and shake hands. After the parade we get a frozen lemonade and watch Beauty and the Beast musical which I thought was a lovely cute show. We then go in search of Kim Possible which I find quite difficult as I find MGM studios difficult to get around, we eventually find her and DD gets her picture done with her.
We then go for dinner at Mama Melrose, I had read negative reviews about it, I thought it was fine, the food was nice, my mum loved the soup she had, and I had a lovely steak. I had a year of million dreams cocktail with the blue glow cube, (which took ages to arrive). After dinner we went to look for high school musical merchandise for DD, we asked a CM which shop had the best collection and DD got HSM Dolls and a t.shirt which I thought were quite expensive. We then made are way to Fantasmic, we had booked the dining package, so went about 45minutes before hand and got a seat at the front. DD got a Tinkerbelle light spinny thing. I loved fantasmic however DD was scared at the thought of baddies taken over and hid for most of the show hence missing most of it, she however did reappear at the end to wave at all the characters as they went past on the boat.
We then got the bus back to POR and HSM2 was on the TV, so me and DD watched it while my mum complained about to much Disney. We don’t have the Disney channel at home so it was great for DD to watch it and not feel left out at school when all her friends talk about it.
DAY 6
Today we don't go to a park, we go shopping at the Mall at millenia, we get a taxi from POR. after shopping we get the boat to DTD and do a little shopping before getting the bus to AKL where we have dinner at Boma, the bus from DTD to AKL takes ages.
we first have a look around the hotel and they was some animals out, we saw a zebra, and a giraffe.
I thought the food was nice however my DD would only eat dessert, the kids option was pasta and DD hates pasta. I get her some chicken nuggets from the food court when we get back to POR.
