I've booked both Holiday Inn Resort Area (98 a night) and the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites (92 a night) for our trip July 16-21 because I couldn't decide which one. It seems that neither of them are very close to DL and we'd need to use the ART at either. I thought both rates were pretty good (not great) and the reviews seem fairly equal on tripadvisor. I would appreciate any thoughts, insights, or general info. that may help me decide. I'm traveling with my 2 DD16 if that helps with info. Oh... BTW, I tried for the HOJO at the entertainment rate and couldn't get it :sad1:
Thanks for the help!!!

The one on South Walnut is actually walking distance from the Mickey & Friends parking lot tram stop, and to the west end of DTD. I'd vote for that one based on location.

We stayed at the one near I-5. The interstate was so loud we could even hear it in our rooms. The facility was nice enough, but will never stay there again because of the traffic noise.

Does anyone know if the Holiday inn and Suites have fridges in their regular rooms?

This might be making my decision for me!

I think that is the same one we stayed at a few years ago. After months of planning, I actually chose this one. It was a dump. I chose it for the pool area (it had a water area for toddlers), but it was too cold to swim that June.

Anyway, it wasn't really walking distance, and you would have had to walk over the Interstate.

For this upcoming trip, we are staying at The Park Vue. I figure if we are going to stay at a "dump", it may as well be walking distance! lol

(ok, maybe "dump" is a harsh word for the HI, but it was probably one of the worst HI's we've ever stayed at).

Only in the suites according to the website. However, you might be able to arrange to have one in your room for a small fee like maybe $5 or so per day. Lots of hotels do this, I would check with the front desk to see what they can do.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of (1221 South Harbor Blvd) it's no longer a Holiday Inn. It's now Hotel Menage, still (of course) at that particularly bad location in a triangle between the I-5, Ball Road, and Harbor Blvd. However, it's off the radar if you're looking for a Holiday Inn.

Oh no.. now I am worried! :confused3 The Holiday Inn Resort is suppose to be pretty new (built in the last 5 years or so) but at least a mile from DL and the Holiday Inn Suites is suppose be right behind the Mickey and Friend parking structure.

I guess I now know why the rates were so reasonable!:sad1:

I haven't been able to find any closer hotels in the $80-90 range.

I do appreciate all the comments!
