The heat and humidity are not something to play around with.. Tips for survival

I take a couple of frogg toggs with me and I keep one in a bag with ice cubes
to keep it cold and I switch mid morning and then after lunch or a snack. I wear this
frogg togg around my neck and I won't go to any of the parks without them ever
again. I will be caring them again this year and my DGS will be made to wear one
as well. They are a real life saver... I have many people come to me and ask about them
and I tell them to get them on Amazon.... You just run them under cold water to start
the process and off I go...cool as a cucumber....

I am unfortunately too familiar with WDW dehydration. This is one of the most important tips there is for WDW travellers.

I chaperoned some friend and their teenage son to the parks. We tried to make sure that he kept hydrating through the day but he just kept lying about how much he was drinking. Perfect time to work on your teenage rebelling. :guilty:

I got to spend a wonderful evening with him in the Celebration Hospital emergency room while he had fluids pumped into him. (nice hospital by the way) He also lost the following park day as he recovered in his room.

I usually travel in June (and will be going in June next year) and am all too familiar with a routine...

I try to get early breakfast reservations so I can get to the parks as early as possible. (The only exception is if I'm going to Hollywood Studios, since I don't like to eat right before Tower of Terror, which is always my first stop there).

Let's say I get to a park around 9:30. I'll try to schedule a lunch somewhere in the park around 12:30. As long as I move swiftly, I can usually take care of about half of what I want to hit most in that time span. This gives me a chance to get into an air conditioned building as the worst of the heat approaches.

Assuming 45 minutes for lunch, I'm back to the hotel around 2:00 and will spend the next two hours in the pool. I'll rest and regroup around 4:00. If I'm paying that much for a hotel, why not enjoy it for a while?

After dinner (which I schedule depending on how long I feel it will take me to get somewhere), I'll go back to the parks to take care of anything I didn't hit that morning or on some other day, watch some fireworks, and enjoy the somewhat cooler temperatures.

Basically, I try to avoid being outside in parks between noon and 6.
