we have baby birds in a tree in our front yard. They're pretty loud to. My dad was all "don't make really loud noises around them because we don't want the momma to get scared and go away".

Yeah, if you get to near to the nest or the mother sees you near, they either will fly away or attack. It's just dangerous. And if the mother goes away than the eggs or if the babies have already hatched, the won't survive too long.
