Back very soon with Day 7, Dec 17. Thanks for hanging in. Mel.

Yes. It's true. This last Saturday night. Exactly one week from the last biblical flood. This time the hero was CALVIN. You heard me. He saved DH's precious man-den and pool table from destruction. He's OUT of the doghouse. We love him. Again. Finally. I think. (Just kidding... relax!) Calvin decided to go downstairs to get something out of the man-den right before bed. Probably a cigar or powertool. But, whatever. And came running up yelling, "There's a flood! There's a flood!". 'Cause all three of our children now know, exactly, what a "flood" consists of. I was instantly crabby because I thought he was making a TERRIBLE joke and... I SWEAR... if he had said "PSYCHE!"... he would now be on a bus to Winnipeg. But I ran down to look. And. Well. New flood. This one was due to the HUGE rainstorm which was happening outside all day and night and had filled up our window-well outside. The window itself had started leaking and water was running down the wall and in a puddle between the pool table legs and towards the sofa. The carpet was soaked. I screamed for DH. But... I had a moment of insane stress and actually screamed "MOMMY!" instead of "MEL!". Calvin just stared at me. It was weird. But... Big Mommy Mel came running down, anyway. And stared in horror and in joy. Because his beloved pool table was not, yet, wet. Then he got busy. Busier than on our wedding night. And sweatier, too. Fixed the window-well in the rain. Mopped up the basement. Ripped up the carpet and sopped it up. Moved the sofa. Fixed the window. Whew! He was a Big Mommy Man with a Plan. So... the carpet is still drying. I feel like calling the fire/flood crew back to borrow some of their crap again. Can you all believe our luck? I'm afraid to go outside now. I'm definitely going to be struck by lightening. Anywho... just an update. And, by the way, I realized that on the dining report I posted I screwed up the order of the last two days' lunches and parks... but not the dinners, etc. I'll fix it on this one. Not that you would have noticed. But it makes me feel better, anyway. I just discovered it now by checking the dates on my pictures. So... this is how it went:

Day 7, Dec 17: Saturday morning I woke up to a cuddle. From Calvin. And knew that this would be better than last night. He was warm and huggy and said, "Morning Mommy... I love you!" I told him I loved him very much too. Then he asked me not to breathe directly on him. Sorry. I took that as a hint and went to brush my teeth and shower while DH made the coffee. I had one leg high up on the wall of the shower stall shaving my legs and practicing my flexibility when the shower curtain was RIPPED open. "Would it be ok if we go to Epcot today... instead of the Magic Kingdom? We voted. Is it?" It was Calvin. Ok. WHY DO THESE BLASTED BATHROOM DOORS NOT LOCK? Just wondering. I fear that the image he was subjected to is burned into his mind, forever. He didn't seem phased, though. I said "Yes. Whatever. Please leave."... So that's how we decided to deviate from my carefully laid plans and go to Epcot instead. I bolted down some coffee with DH and the kids ate Poptarts. Loaded up and headed out. Straight to Turtle Talk with Crush. Yes, again. Because Beth LOVES it. Did it. Crush didn't talk right to the happyhaunts today. And headed back outside the Living Seas. Well... I thought we all did but DH and Beth were nowhere to be seen. Hum? But... we, suddenly, spied NEMO! Calvin and Tommy rushed over to shake his one tiny fin. And say "Hello". But... mostly...to poke him in his huge plastic eye. The CM handler asked them three times not to poke him in the eye before they, finally, listened. I think that it must have bugged Nemo because, suddenly, the piece of coral which was sort of draped over Nemo's side stood up and WALKED towards Tommy and Calvin. Who took off, screaming, in different directions. Tommy was halfway to The Land before I caught him. Ha, ha! Wow. He CAN move fast! Calvin was hiding in the bushes that are past the Living Seas Pavillion in the other direction, and up a hill. Ha, ha! Good one, Coral man. I waved Calvin down and he descended the hill by log rolling down it. Another pair of pants bites the dust. Then I see Beth and DH exit from the Living Seas and I waved them over, too. I tell them what happened. Ha, ha, ha! They are both sorry to have missed it. They were looking at the fish inside instead. Time to head back to our homeland. Canada. Where I am going to BEG for an ADR for lunch. Beg. Tapdance. Mime. Or... grapevine. Whatever will work.

To be continued...

I am so sorry to hear about you flood again. Good thing Calvin went down stairs. I just love reading your reports, they get me though the day. I sit at work and crack up reading what you write an the "Yelling mommy" LMAO.

Your family sounds great and your are a lucky lady. I can see Calvin and Tommy running for their lives! :cool1:

OK. Granted... I'm blond. But... tell me, please? What does IMAO mean? I've seen it before on this thread. I've tried a bunch of things. Some were very disgusting. And, most, didn't make any sense. Just wonderin'... Mel.

LMAO means Laughin' My A** Off!

Love your style, Mel...sorry about the biblical disasters. Hope this is not one of those "things come in 3's" deals!!!!

Your TR rocks- as usual :thumbsup2
I love the pictures- even the fuzzy ones.
My youngest DS Tommy got to be in that magician's show on the Boardwalk too- it was hysterical. We still laugh hysterically when we watch the video. :rotfl2:

Can't wait for more. And I am glad to hear Calvin is in the good graces again- I was feeling like I might want to adopt him.

Oh... thank God! So... the "O" didn't, in any way, stand for "ovary". Whew. And it WAS an "L"... not an "I". That helps. I had other things goin' through my mind. I TOLD you some were disgusting.

But... thanks A LOT TastefullyChris... 'cause I figure since the floods HAVE to be finished... we're on our way to "pestilence". Probably LICE... yeah, lice. I'm just waitin' here. thanks, much... Mel.

Now I am really LMAO! I do not even want to know what you were thinking!

Oh no please do not tell me someone has lice! Yuck! It just makes me itch, my senior year, 9 yrs ago wow, they closed our whole district because of an outbreak. That was so gross and I am sorry if you have to go through it.

OHHHHH. We already did THAT. ONCE. Last year. Of course... the source was a girl in Calvin's class who "really likes the mole on his neck" so had to check it out. Again and again. Spread it to me and Beth, too. DH and Tommy got off scott free. Speaking of Scott... tried to spread the plague to him and his girlfriend... no luck. (Just kidding! heh, heh.) Anywho... it really WAS a blessing in disguise. Because... I have A LOT of hair. A LOT! And... I was unwilling to cut ANY. So... DH spent HOURS and HOURS combing through my hair with a fine tooth comb. We had wine. And quality time together. Great talks. Listened to Sheryl Crowe. And kissed. It was WONDERFUL... really. I recommend the "Lice Date Action" to parents. To all.

I'm not ready for it just yet, tho. Mel.

I am glad you had a great night and I hope Calvin did not see the "dental surgery", we know how he love its. However, I think it would be easier and cheaper to hire a babysitter and go on a date!

Hey did you get your cat back yet or did your mom keep it?
