No everyone needs shirts!! Cute little t-shirts that say: Maelstrom!!! Maelstrom is a FASTPASS!!

and maybe something cute on the back!

That's IT! Ride shirts! Surely there must be Maelstrom! T-shirts in the dump shop after the theatre part... along with all the trolls and wool sweaters? It's gotta have T-shirts. Being a FASTPASS ride, after all. Honestly, I have to say it once more. This IS, without a doubt, the worst ride at a theme park... anywhere. I'm being fairly generous here. I think. Maybe we can all wear big heavy knitted wool Maelstrom! sweaters this May in WDW. For sure we'll all hook up if we do that. Not only will we all look ridiculous... we'll all be suffering from the same symptoms of heavy sweating, paleness, muscle cramps, headache and nausea. Anyway...

Remember: You are not the FIRST to pass this way!

Unfortunately.

Yea, wool sweaters and troll necklaces.

Or make your own t-shirts with pictures of Gary on them!!!

I am sorry but I do not do Wool, I am allergic to it. I think I will stick with my chances of getting a paint brush. Also I am thinking of getting a green Mickey head to attach to my bag/ w little green ribbon on it. I think I will write Maelstrom on the Mickey Head!

Wow, I can't believe it's over. That was seriously the longest report ever - but oh so enjoyable! Can't wait until May!!! Thanks so much for the laughs.

I am leaving this Sunday for Disney with 5 of my closest girlfriends (yup, ladies only trip! Disney will never be the same!!!) I am hoping (beyond hope?) that the ladies who have never been to Epcot before (there are 3 of them) do not know Maelstrom exists, which will save me from the pain. I guess we can load them up on Margaritas first and scurry by. Maybe they won't notice.

Thanks for such an entertaining trip report! Mai Tai say that I hope you continue to entertain the troops with future reports?

PS I'll say "Hello" to Gary for you (if I may be so bold).

Great report, loved all of it, I have not got a thing done at work in two days because of it but oh well. Can't wait to have kids of our own and have memories of disney like your family does. Can'r wait for your may report

so sorry, my darling of a wife have threaten to kill me if any comes up missing.
however, may i suggest ..thrumper-girl/friend-"tara" might be able to help.[ i
don't know her {actually i don't know anyone here} but i read her really cute
report and since she has a lucky bunny...maybe she has a spare? or maybe
a smurf---we had all kinds from our firstborn..[that's right i've never mentioned him--he was the prefect baby..which gave us a false sense of
-just about everything for our second. let me tell you....he was so beautiful that he used to draw crowds. and he was the best behave baby you can imagine. remember "baby on board" and all the other junk on t-shirts? hind-
sight..i would made one proclaiming " beautiful baby maker".bet that would
have produced better results than a semi with "loaded"? anyhoo he refused
anything to do with smurfs and instead started a career in ghostbusting--including every figure keener ever made. however, our second did had 15 min
of fame --he was chosen in a penney ad campaign. ironic, they are very
big..like 6/5 and 230 lbs. think about food bills. no wonder our neighbors have
bmw's and us...got to say, i was very impress how you handle all the water
diaster. i am sorta debating about writing a trip report from our visit last oct..
as alot of the current t/reports are during the same time. however, i sorta afraid-i 'll lose the rest of my hiney from being chewed out...may i ask
why you wrote one? and let's say we always seem to have some real
interesting encounters in all our trip. [which my wife blames on me -her
only fault]. anyway, sorry about the guinea pig.
p.s.--he,he,he ..sure glad my wife has no idea about this site or i have
to sleep with one eye open. :rolleyes1

I literally just spent all weekend reading this! Thank-you so much Mel for taking the time and effort into putting your vacation stories together for all of us to read! Because of you, I got my Disney fix and it was almost like I was really there! :wave2:

...as I read your report. My DH told me about it and as a result, I've spent nearly the entire weekend sitting on our couch reading your report! (Laundry, what's laundry??) It's hilarious!!!

And, I've come to the conclusion, after reading about the antics of Calvin, Tommy and Beth, that when we have kids, I'm going to be a really AWFUL parent, because I'll laugh stupidly whenever they do something that I should be serious and stern about. Here's hoping DH will be more serious than me!!!

(He's sitting beside me, laughing and saying "Fat chance"...I think there'll be many instances of "you just wait here and think about what you did...I'll be right back" and then one or both of us running out of the room dying of laughter!)

I completely loved your report! And as a consequence, I HAVE to go to WDW (have never been, unfortunately), and ride Maelstrom! Come on, after all, if it has a FASTPASS, it can't be that bad after all??? :D

Maybe you could entertain us until your next WDW-trip with all kinds of things that happen at your house? There must be enough to keep us entertained... (Calvin, floods, cats, ...)

Just wanted to thank everyone for their recent comments. So nice. I appreciate it much.

Well... the happyhaunts went North. Now we're back. Mostly in one piece. I really WISH this wasn't just a Disney Trip Reports forum. 'Cause we just had a CRAZY trip to the Ontario Winter Games at CFB Borden. Calvin is "obsessed" with the military... as well as a few other things. So the fact that he was on an army base was VERY exciting for him. Funny for the rest of us. He was SO proud of the fact that he was yelled at numerous times by "real soldiers". CFB Borden will never be the same again. After the influx of 12 happyhaunts. Mine and my cousin George's family. Must tell you all that one of his daughters brought home a Silver medal for synchronized swimming!!!! Yahoo!!!! And we had the meanest, worst waitress from HELL the whole time we were there. Every single meal we ate at the pub there. We could NOT get out of her section. Didn't matter where we sat... she was our waiter. By our last lunch I was basically telling her to bring us all whatever SHE wanted. 'Cause that was what she had been doing the whole time. We could NOT get what we ordered. Not once. She also yelled at us, forgot to bring people's food, gave us the wrong bills, dropped food and got frustrated and threw her order pad in the air and stomped off. More than once. Such fun!!!!! And, yeah... we tipped her. For the great entertainment. Certainly not the service. Great trip. Calvin got injured Koala-ing within five minutes of arriving. There was a fair amount of blood. Yada yada blah blah. I'll shut up now. By the way... ZZUB has posted his Chapter 13. You should get over there. Go!

P.S. Lil' Grumpy: I think you SHOULD write a trip report. I'd read it. And... I wrote this one because I so enjoyed reading ZZUB's and Vettechick's. Amongst others. Plus... boring people to death is what I do. Mel.

Mel,

I just wanted to say thanks for bighting up my lunch hour, and then some, for the last few weeks. Sounds like you have a real fun family. I will be anxiously awaiting your next report.

Yet another amazing trip report! I laughed my hiney off! :thumbsup2

You. Princess Aurora. Vettechick. CanIrollwithya?CanIhangwithya?

Why... how sweet!!! Nothin' like a filthy dirty pirate appendage to make my day better! Thanks pongoperdigirl. May the Force be with you.

It's my "hairy leg" connected to the Preacher's "stinky foot". Ewwww. Creepy-dee. I'm gonna go tell him. Bye, Mel.

Me: Calvin! Just to warn you... I'm rethinking my position on eating my own donut baby. And, in addition, I'm pretty darn hungry right now.

Omigosh!!! I about fell out of my chair on that one! I've been reading your report the last couple of days, and in doing so neglecting my responsibilites like cooking, cleaning, feeding my three children... School? You don't need to go to school. Mommy's busy reading this trip report, can't you see? lol.

Ah, so funny. I'm a seventies kid myself. And your dad sounds so much like mine. I'm not an only child, but my sisters are waaaaay older than me and of course, so are my parents. It was kind of like being an only child. Sort of. Except the extra "mothers" and the sneaky sibling who tried to do away with me. But, I digress. My daddy LO-OVES The Haunted Mansion and Disneyworld, and his family. I'm not sure in which order. Probably the one I listed them in. Ha, ha. He's got a weird sense of humor. I mean, weird! But funny. At least, to me.

Anyhow, just wanted to say how very much I have enjoyed reading this so far. So much so that I'm willing to overlook the Journey remark. You are a terrific writer and really make it feel like we are there with you. Great job!

That sounds kinda...um...kinky! I like it! LOL!

Blessings!
Mark

Mel-thanks so much for the trip report. It was just like being there (sigh!). I have laughed so much in the last 2 days my stomach hurts. Hard to want to snort and roar while you're at work. Anyway, thanks-looking forward to the May trip report :yay:
