I am not the only person getting any work done at work. You are doing a nice job and you need to post pictures. :cheer2:

Crocs---- I got some for Christmas and just wore them this weekend and I love them! They are so soft and squishy and wide! Everything I love in a shoe. I am going to get them for my husband and son for Valentines day. My daugher all ready has them. They will be great for WDW, beach and camping. Plus I love that they float!

ps. I have the bright pink ones

Well. I hope you are still with me here. But... the chances are slim and none that you've returned to me if you are an Italian teetottler from New Jersey. And slim ain't at Disney. So. Sorry. About that.

Part 31

Day 6, Dec 16: I woke up. Friday morning. Feeling a little thirsty, I gotta admit. Everyone else was still deep in the land of dreams. Dreamland. Now, since the subtitle of this trip report has become "Mel's Drinkin' Tips"... I've got a couple more for you. We've covered #1 and #2 in previous chapters. So here's #3: Wake up and be HAPPY. A hangover is all about mind over matter. Just like my sleep deprivation at 'Ohanas. You get up. YOU PUT ON A HAPPY FACE. Force yourself to laugh. And you'll be just fine. There's another option. It's Tip#4: It is to ACTUALLY NOT ALLOW yourself to suffer a hangover. You initially pretend, and then you'll believe, that they don't exist AND that you have never had nor ever will experience one in your lifetime. It's a hard one. Not for everyone. It's also the second best thing Spot ever taught me. But, he really did OWE me this one... after his previous tutorial which included a bottle of tequila, an orange and a shaker of cinnamon. It was only fair. So on this Disney morning, I use a combination of Tips 3 and 4 and bound out of bed all perky and happy. And land on top of DH. Who was still sleeping. It's payback for the incident in which my foot disappeared into his colon. The other day. Because I haven't forgotten. Just biding my time. DH doesn't seem real pleased to see his lovely wife this morning. He's REALLY grumpy. And a little parched himself. But he's not making the wise decision to go with #3, either. He's really crabby. And pushes me off of him and off the bed. I flip over the side and slide down into the crack between the bed and the wall. WELL! Kids wake up and pile on me faster than greased lightening. (my Dad used to say that) They like nothing better than a morning pile-on. We all get stuck. Really firmly wedged. It hurt. DH was forced to get up and haul us all out. He was OK once we got him vertical. And... we have a big day planned. I mean a BIG DAY. It's our only day on this trip that we(I) have planned to spend at Disney Studios. And we all quite enjoy many of the rides and shows there. So we have to motor. We plow through our morning routine and load up the stroller. Beth is wearing her Minnie Headband Ears, again. But Tommy says he doesn't want to wear his Tigger ones. And whenever he does wear them, he ends up taking them off and putting them down in the handiest, closest place. I keep finding them and tossing them in the bottom of the stroller so we don't forget and lose them. For $17.00. Calvin STILL has nothing in the way of headgear. So... I decide to wear Tommy's Tigger Ears today. In about an hour I discover why Tommy keeps taking them off and putting them down. It relates to the principles of acupressure. There are two acupressure points near your temple, I believe, that help immensely in relieving a headache when rubbed. Pressure=Relief. Everyone knows this. Instinctively. It's just a natural place on your head to press. What I discovered upon wearing Tigger Ears is the very opposite. The Tigger Ears press on two different points behind your ears that actually CAUSE you to develop a headache. Pressure= Unyielding Pain. Interesting. And... I believe this answers the question of why there seems to be more and more unpleasant people in WDW Parks these days. Since the advent of the Headband Ears Souvenier Hats. But. I persevered. I wore the ears all day for several reasons:
1. I like Tigger.
2. I'm tough. I think.
3. I felt kinda silly in the Tigger Ears. But in a really GOOD way.
4. I didn't want to be the one to put them down and lose them. For $17.

So. I wore them. All day. Just kept adjusting their placement so the excruciating pain was lessened. Sorry Tommy. It was also my personal punishment for breaking my # 1 rule at Disney. The "Don't Drink Too Much at Disney" Rule. Sheesh. We head over to the BCV dock to catch a ride to The Studios on the Friendship. DH is STILL a little bit grumpy and heaving back the coffee like there's no tomorrow. So I decide to play with him. It'll be fun. For one of us, at least.

To be continued.

My family wants to know why I have been neglecting them and hiding in the den all day today. Quick someone give me a good excuse other than "I'm reading a great Disney Trip Report". That would push DH over the edge. :rotfl:

To the kids, "I'm working. I always tell my kids when I run in my office, "Mom has got to work so we can make more money for Mickey!" To DH, "budgeting and portfolio researching, dear." However, he knows in the matter of a few months I have gone from book reading, movie watching and conversationalist wife to computer introvert because of this board!

I had no idea how addicting this trip report would be. I thought the first installment was great, but I had no idea the Canucks and Tim Horton's would come into play :rotfl:

My DH (who's physical description matches your DH's to a tee) thinks I'm nuts for laughing so much. Of course, I didn't tell him that I laugh at these boards because I feel bad laughing at him doing cross-stitch at the laundromat :lmao:

Part 32

Day 6, Dec 16: I tried to cheer my poor Melly up as we walked through the BCV and the lobby of the Beach Club, out the door and down the path to the dock. I really did. He wasn't feeling very "talky" though. So I decided that I better leave him alone. For the general good of our little group. And my own. We are the thirsty, tired, quiet happyhaunts. We waited just about ten minutes, tops, for the Friendship to pick us up for the ride over to the Studios. Loaded on. Stroller to the back of the boat. Everyone sits down. I'm facing DH. So... I decide to take some pictures of him. Calvin helps me by sticking two fingers up behind DH's head. DH wants no part of this. He makes a very crabby frowning face and puts his hand up to block his face out. Party pooper. I decide to head out onto the back deck of the Friendship and take pictures during our ride. I'm really glad I did this because I ended up with some fabulous pictures of the Beach and Yacht Clubs, The Boardwalk and the Swan and Dolphin. I understand why they call it "The Swan". But I don't really get "The Dolphin" thing. Is that fish a dolphin? Then I decide to waste some time by taking pictures of myself. I'm way too close to the camera and only one of them turns out well. So I dump the others. I catch DH watching me from inside. He's wearing his " I can't BELIEVE I actually MARRIED her" look. I know this look well. Seen it a few times. I smile and wave. He looks away. He loves me. A lot. We get to the Studios and head to the front gates. Wow. It's packed! Really busy. Busiest we've seen any park, so far, this week. We wait in line to get our bags checked by security and I notice a lot of people are looking at me. It's the Tigger Ears. I'm sure of it. Or else I've forgotten to put on pants again. No. It's the ears. In fact, the CM security guy says "Hi Tigger!" to me. And "Hi Minnie!" to Beth. I ask Beth if the Minnie Ears Headband is causing her any discomfort. She says no. NO? NO? I don't get it? 'Cause MY ears are sure causing me a pang or two of agony. We pose for pictures as a group and then I get the kids alone in front of the Mickey Scocerer's Hat. We head down the street to do The Great Movie Ride. For the 1st time, ever. And we've been here before at least five times. But, first, we take pictures of the sidewalk in front of the ride with all the celebrities' hands, feet and signatures. Leonard Nimoy. For DH and Calvin. Minnie Mouse. Donald Duck. Then... I see Pat Morita's square. Ah. I feel sad. He just died. Last November. I love "The Karate Kid" movie. The first one. A classic good vrs evil film. Yada. So...In Memoriam, Beth and I assume the classic "Karate Kid" pose beside his square with our arms outstretched and standing on one foot. DH starts to take some pictures of us. Hold the pose, Beth! Hold it! Then, suddenly, he stops and just stares at me. What? WHAT? He's looking behind me. WOWEEEE! It's TIGGER! He's doing the Karate Kid pose, too. Ha, ha, ha! Good one! It's TIGGER! Then he points at me and I do it, again. Facing him. Then he does it. Then we both jump around and chase each other in a circle. Wow! Now THAT was some good times! DISNEY MOMENT EXTRAORDINAIRE! DH captured some of it on film. Which I will forever treasure. Thanks DH! Then Tigger disappears with his handler. He pointed to my Tigger Ears and waved. Tigger was wearing a red and white scarf. I just LOVE Tigger. We do the Great Movie Ride. Without Beth. She waits outside beside the CMs at the entrance. Big surprise. It was fine. Ok ride. Nothing that "Great" about it, though. We head over to our favourite part of Disney Studios. The Tower of Terror and The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster! Both have relatively small waits despite the park seeming to be pretty busy. But not "summer busy". We do the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster twice with DH and I taking turns staying with Tommy. Both Beth and Calvin LOVE this ride. I almost bought the picture because both of them had the funniest SAME teeth-clenched face of constipation in it. They BOTH looked like Bruce Springsteen. Actually... I'd REALLY like to see Bruce Springsteen's face on the RnRC! Then we head over to Beth's LEAST FAVOURITE RIDE... The Tower of Terror. Of course she's never, ever done it before. Or else she WOULD like it. 'Cause I know Miss Nibs pretty well. She'd love it. I just can't seem to figure out a way to convince her to try it once. Sadly, she just stays in the giftshop waiting for us. Or on the bench where the ride exits. Waiting. Bored. I feel kinda bad and sometimes I stay with her while the boys all ride over and over again. Tommy loves this ride. But he's very little and people always give DH and I the dirtiest looks when we're in line for this one with him. It's like they want to call Children's Aid on us or something. Crazy. Mind your own business. He LOVES IT! It's DH who shouldn't be going on ToT. He always looks like he's just filled an adult diaper in the picture at the end. It's cute. It cracks me up. So we bore Beth to death while we do and redo this ride. Then we realize we're gonna be late for lunch at the 50's Primetime Cafe. We panic and run to make our ADR. Pausing only briefly so that Tommy can explore a new washroom along the way. Surprise. Again.

To be CONTINUED...
But not today. I, and two of my girlfriends, have a little date with BON JOVI in Toronto. Yahoooo!

Great trip report.... my sister in law and friend are going tonight to see Bon Jovi she won tickets on 99.9 front seats and they get to go onstage with him for a song! Have fun

You've said the magic words: BON JOVI! I LOVE BON JOVI! CANNOT GET ENOUGH BON JOVI! Of course I live in NJ, land of Bon Jovi, and they are idolized in my hometown since several of the band members grew up in our township. I saw him here back in December (and several hundred times ranging back quite a few years...). Great show. Have fun!

We went onstage at the Detroit Show. If they are going into the 'fan pit' they will be up there for 5 or 6 songs not just 1! It was a fantastic time, one of the girls we went with actually got kissed by Jon! Not to be gross or anything (but where better than within happyhaunts trip report :teeth: ) but we are talking tongue and all.:earseek: She about fainted!:faint: The previous night she saw them and was in the 'fan pit', she pee'd her pants when he stroked her arm!:rotfl:

Have a nice day Mel! Tell Jon the DIS says "HI".

Wow! The BON JOVI love I'm feelin' is extreme. So... an aside is in order. Just for the Dis ladies. That means: I have a point to prove. Thanks.

Just got back from the concert. The BON JOVI concert. Downtown Toronto. It was wonderful, as expected. And... they played for a good three hours! It was excellent! And... HAVE a NICE DAY! And all that. But... I have to tell all you BON JOVI lovin' women... THAT: You have a GEEK FETISH, too. Now... listen to me. For a minute. Jon Bon Jovi is the ultimate, "beautiful" geek. It's true. He's small. His head is too big for his body. His teeth are large, albiet VERY white. His legs are short. His pants are too tight. His feet are too big for his body. He walks across the stage like a duck. His hair is blond and feathered. His shirt is wide open a la Gary Sandy of "WKRP in Cincinnati" fame. But... he's a BEAUTIFUL man, nonetheless. And... he has the voice of an angel. And he's smart. And a good business man. An actor. Not a great one... but not too bad, either. He's an intelligent and artistic person. He's a GEEK. In DISGUISE! It's true. Think about it. Plus... he has that "Shut up and Kiss me" thing goin' on, too. It's true. 'Cause tonight he started talking about the election we just had here. In Canada. Didn't know WHAT he was sayin'. Not that I'm a great politico or anything. But... didn't know. Very much. 'nuff said. So... it was the same as in school. That cute, hot, lovely guy in your class who you get talking to one night at the pub and, suddenly, realize he's a "Shut up and Kiss Me" guy. I KNOW you KNOW what I mean. So... therefore. You all have geek fetishes, too. So... HAVE a NICE DAY! Because: Everything is better with Bon Jovi!
Wow. Major ASIDE. It's over now. Forgive me. And forgive me, again. Cut me some slack. It had NOTHING at all to do with Disney. But... it was "Threadworthy", I thought. Back to the grind...tomorrow is ALL Disney! See ya later.

Just an aside for subscribers - did you know you can go to the thread tools and subscribe without doing a reply? I do that when I'm too lazy or don't have time to read a thread that looks great (as this one is) but I don't want to lose it?

I found it by accident and often use it when I'm at work and don't have the time to reply.

Re: Bon Jovi, I agree with your aside 110%!!

It's been 3 years since I've seen him...too long, too long.

No, I didn't. But now I do! THANKS! This will come in handy!

I KNEW I liked you!!!
I live for 3 things...(and spend plenty of money on them)...Disney World, the New York Football Giants, and BON JOVI!!!
You guys got a great set list (that was the night they played Living in Sin, right?)
We went to 1 show at Madison Square Garden, and all 3 at Continental...dying to find out when the Giants Stadium shows are going to be!
Sorry for hijacking your thread...so you have fabulous writing skills, and good taste in music! :) :thumbsup2
ETA - you are absolutely right about the whole JBJ geek thing! It's too funny, but OMG, what a dreamy geek! :cloud9:
