Part 32
Day 6, Dec 16: I tried to cheer my poor Melly up as we walked through the BCV and the lobby of the Beach Club, out the door and down the path to the dock. I really did. He wasn't feeling very "talky" though. So I decided that I better leave him alone. For the general good of our little group. And my own. We are the thirsty, tired, quiet happyhaunts. We waited just about ten minutes, tops, for the Friendship to pick us up for the ride over to the Studios. Loaded on. Stroller to the back of the boat. Everyone sits down. I'm facing DH. So... I decide to take some pictures of him. Calvin helps me by sticking two fingers up behind DH's head. DH wants no part of this. He makes a very crabby frowning face and puts his hand up to block his face out. Party pooper. I decide to head out onto the back deck of the Friendship and take pictures during our ride. I'm really glad I did this because I ended up with some fabulous pictures of the Beach and Yacht Clubs, The Boardwalk and the Swan and Dolphin. I understand why they call it "The Swan". But I don't really get "The Dolphin" thing. Is that fish a dolphin? Then I decide to waste some time by taking pictures of myself. I'm way too close to the camera and only one of them turns out well. So I dump the others. I catch DH watching me from inside. He's wearing his " I can't BELIEVE I actually MARRIED her" look. I know this look well. Seen it a few times. I smile and wave. He looks away. He loves me. A lot. We get to the Studios and head to the front gates. Wow. It's packed! Really busy. Busiest we've seen any park, so far, this week. We wait in line to get our bags checked by security and I notice a lot of people are looking at me. It's the Tigger Ears. I'm sure of it. Or else I've forgotten to put on pants again. No. It's the ears. In fact, the CM security guy says "Hi Tigger!" to me. And "Hi Minnie!" to Beth. I ask Beth if the Minnie Ears Headband is causing her any discomfort. She says no. NO? NO? I don't get it? 'Cause MY ears are sure causing me a pang or two of agony. We pose for pictures as a group and then I get the kids alone in front of the Mickey Scocerer's Hat. We head down the street to do The Great Movie Ride. For the 1st time, ever. And we've been here before at least five times. But, first, we take pictures of the sidewalk in front of the ride with all the celebrities' hands, feet and signatures. Leonard Nimoy. For DH and Calvin. Minnie Mouse. Donald Duck. Then... I see Pat Morita's square. Ah. I feel sad. He just died. Last November. I love "The Karate Kid" movie. The first one. A classic good vrs evil film. Yada. So...In Memoriam, Beth and I assume the classic "Karate Kid" pose beside his square with our arms outstretched and standing on one foot. DH starts to take some pictures of us. Hold the pose, Beth! Hold it! Then, suddenly, he stops and just stares at me. What? WHAT? He's looking behind me. WOWEEEE! It's TIGGER! He's doing the Karate Kid pose, too. Ha, ha, ha! Good one! It's TIGGER! Then he points at me and I do it, again. Facing him. Then he does it. Then we both jump around and chase each other in a circle. Wow! Now THAT was some good times! DISNEY MOMENT EXTRAORDINAIRE! DH captured some of it on film. Which I will forever treasure. Thanks DH! Then Tigger disappears with his handler. He pointed to my Tigger Ears and waved. Tigger was wearing a red and white scarf. I just LOVE Tigger. We do the Great Movie Ride. Without Beth. She waits outside beside the CMs at the entrance. Big surprise. It was fine. Ok ride. Nothing that "Great" about it, though. We head over to our favourite part of Disney Studios. The Tower of Terror and The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster! Both have relatively small waits despite the park seeming to be pretty busy. But not "summer busy". We do the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster twice with DH and I taking turns staying with Tommy. Both Beth and Calvin LOVE this ride. I almost bought the picture because both of them had the funniest SAME teeth-clenched face of constipation in it. They BOTH looked like Bruce Springsteen. Actually... I'd REALLY like to see Bruce Springsteen's face on the RnRC! Then we head over to Beth's LEAST FAVOURITE RIDE... The Tower of Terror. Of course she's never, ever done it before. Or else she WOULD like it. 'Cause I know Miss Nibs pretty well. She'd love it. I just can't seem to figure out a way to convince her to try it once. Sadly, she just stays in the giftshop waiting for us. Or on the bench where the ride exits. Waiting. Bored. I feel kinda bad and sometimes I stay with her while the boys all ride over and over again. Tommy loves this ride. But he's very little and people always give DH and I the dirtiest looks when we're in line for this one with him. It's like they want to call Children's Aid on us or something. Crazy. Mind your own business. He LOVES IT! It's DH who shouldn't be going on ToT. He always looks like he's just filled an adult diaper in the picture at the end. It's cute. It cracks me up. So we bore Beth to death while we do and redo this ride. Then we realize we're gonna be late for lunch at the 50's Primetime Cafe. We panic and run to make our ADR. Pausing only briefly so that Tommy can explore a new washroom along the way. Surprise. Again.
To be CONTINUED...
But not today. I, and two of my girlfriends, have a little date with BON JOVI in Toronto. Yahoooo!
