The Happiest Day of Our Lives...

Last night I came acrossed your TR and spent over a hour going through 11 pages....and now I'm hooked...you are doing such a great job the pics are great and looks like you had such a blast! Can't wait for the rest!

Congrats!!!

Thank you so much! I am glad you're enjoying it ~ I will update again today. It's so much fun to recap!

This is a great trip report, and you two are SO SO SO CUTE!!! You seem like the happiest couple! If you don't mind my asking, what type of camera did you bring on your trip? You have some great shots, really bright and crisp!

I can't wait to read more!

Thank you! :) :) :) :lovestruc I just asked Gavin and he said the camera is a Panasonic Lumix camera GMCTZ5, if that helps! It's really easy to use (I am terrible with cameras although I would love not to be!).

I really love reading this TR.......... I know I'm not having a WDW wedding, but this is kinda making me want one now!

Bob xoxoxox

Bob, I think you will end up having one! :) It was wonderful, magical ~ a fantastic time! Do it! ;)

I love this trip report. All of the pictures and your writing style really lets me get into it. I might be weird, but I love the random pics like the ones in the Yotel, out the plane window, the neat things all around Disney, and especially the food pics. The sushi looked fabulous. I guess I am a bit of an addict when it comes to sushi. When I saw it at 2 am it made me want it so badly I was trying to think of places that might be open that late on a Thursday night.:lmao: Cudos to you for trying the raw oysters. I haven't done that yet. Did you put any lemon or hot sauce on them to help them go down?
Please keep this trip report coming.

Thank you so much ~ I love taking pictures of everything and luckily so does Gavin. I looove sushi and Gav loved it even more so ~ every time I mention going back he mentions the sushi! Lucky for me there's nowhere her that's openb at 2am for anything! I'll have those oysters again as I had no hot sauce with it (although I tried some) so I need to see it it doe work easier. It was a real first for me, a fantastic memory. Thank you so much for reading, I have the half term hex (cold and fluey)n and so I have a week to update!

Wow! Tusker House looks awesome! :)

Hope I get to meet safari daisy one day!!! :goodvibes

Back at the Yacht Club...

We made it back to the room to find this little guy…

I love towel animals. I just love them. I wish I could make them!

As the wedding was fast approaching I decided I had better check to make sure my bridal things were in place and ready to go. I banned Gavin from looking in any of the drawers or cupboards ~ I had kept everything a secret for nearly 2 years, I wasn’t about to fall at the last hurdle!

2008-08-04_112704.jpg

I started to pack Gav up to move him out of my “Bridal Boutique” and into his own “Bachelor Pad” for his last night as a single guy, and mine as a single gal!

2008-08-04_112714.jpg

It was about that time that we heard something. Something loud. The fire alarm. There was this recording telling us to get out! At that point I was trying to work out the money for paying different people and my sister had given me her money for the Tusker House and so I had nearly $1000 in my paws! So I left the hotel with Gav and we trotted down the fire exit stairs with the rest of the guests and out of the back entrance to sit and wait. He called me Scrooge McDuck and kept yelling "grab the money and run!"

All I could think about was the groomsmen being fitted (which was scheduled to take place in the next half hour) and that I was rich! Ha ha. :rotfl2: Then I felt an immense sense of relief that my dress wasn't in the room. We sat outside in the sunshine and talked to a family with a little boy who loved Thomas the Tank engine and decided to tell Gavin everything he knew about Thomas and friends.

Seriously though, we had no idea what to do. So, we took off our shoes and had a paddle in the swimming pool, and then walked around the back, trying to figure out if there was a way to get to the front of the building without going through it, in case Carolyn Allen’s had arrived and were wondering what was happening. It seemed, however, that it was nearly impossible to find a way through the hotels to the front entrance without going into the hotel itself.

After about 20 minutes, my dad and BIL Dave arrived right on time, and we explained what had happened ~ then we were let in and we all trekked up the fire escape again. I felt awful for them as we had to go up about 5 or 6 flights. Anyway, I was still rich! Gav asked me if I was going anywhere, ha ha. I could have spent all day at Beaches and Cream eating ice cream after ice cream…. But I had a job to do!

We headed back into the lobby as the elevators were out of use due to the alarm, and we met Carolyn Allen’s there. They were not happy about having to take everything upstairs as it would be difficult and so I went to see if the Yacht Club had another room. They found a conference room we could use but in the meantime my dad and Dave (BIL) had divided up the suits, found Gav’s dad, brother and brother in law and had decided they would just carry everything. So, up we go…

COMING UP: No socks?! Okay……… No PANTS? Noooo! :laugh3:

Groomsmen Fitting Time

So we arrive upstairs and everyone piles in, including Gav’s brother’s girlfriend, and I get ready with the camera. That is, until my dad comes over to me, looking like he has been shot. He came straight from the pool, in his swimming shorts ~ with the built in lining and has no pants (I think you call them briefs? Underwear? No idea ~ I call them pants.). I laugh ~ a lot! Poor dad. Luckily for him, I bought Gav about 40 new pairs of pants for the holiday and so my dad is able to have his own new pair of pants. He then realises he has no socks either, and then the rest of the groomsmen also chime in that they have no socks either. Poor Gav was relieved of most of his socks!

Anyway, then they started to get ready.

In this photo is my BIL Dave, who lost A LOT of weight to come here. Bless him. On the left is my dad, and in the white in the background is my Prince Gavin.

I chose the menswear very carefully and the cravats I wanted I could find NOWHERE. In the end I found a really nice man on eBay of all places, who makes them and so he was able to accommodate my colour choices ~ why does nowhere have bright colours? All I could get was pastel everywhere else.

Gav and his BIL Nick.

The groomsmen including Gav all had the Mickey Mouse backless vests and I thought they looked so cool.

My dad, above, with the newly acquired socks…

Gav’s dad, for some reason sporting the pale tie and not the one he should have…

Gav’s dad, posing for posterity. Nearly everyone needed alterations and so I am glad we had the fitting and didn’t leave anything to chance!

Everyone crowding into the mirror.

Gav’s brother and our best man, Garth. (TAKE THAT TIE OFF!) This was where the confusion started…

Dave, behaving himself and keeping me happy and hassle free with the CORRECT tie on.

My dad, who was after assurance that he was the most handsomely dressed in the room…

Having his clothes fitted properly…

“How’s that?” he said “Smart enough?”

Thank you for reading! :lovestruc

Oh no! Your pics aren't working! :sad1:

Bob xoxoxox

Sorry Bob ~ photobucket was having issues. I hope that's better! By the way, I keep meaning to tell you that my nieces and nephews call ME Bob too! Although I have nothing Bob-like in my name, we have no idea why that is, they just do! Now I met another Bob! :dance3:

LOVE the bright ties - and bless Gavin for wearing a hot pink one! I don't know why so many grooms say they won't wear pink... :snooty:

Sara Jayne - I am absolutely in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with your TR/WJ! It's the first thing I run to when I log onto my computer. In fact, I got an angry phone call from one of my business partners the other day asking why I hadn't responded to the bank loan officer's email (who was now calling my partner). Of course I hadn't received the email yet because I was reading your report. Ooops! :confused3 After smoothing that all out, I was right back here though! I can't wait to hear the rest and I think the bright ties are very handsome! What a clever idea! I must say though, I don't know what I"m more amazed with, your incredible organization (truly impressive) or your ability to stay so calm with the hotel potentially burning down during the groomsmen's fitting just before the wedding (absolutely outstanding - cheers)! I would have been a basket case - literally! Waiting anxiously to read and see more! -Ashley

Ah, its fine now! Yay!!

Lol!! Well, we can be the Lady-Bob's together! :goodvibes My name is actually Robyn, but when I was tiny my parents called me 'Baby Bob' and it stuck.... I wish there'd been a cooler way to get my nickname! Lol!

Loving the cravats btw!! Can you remember the supplier on ebay?? We're after bright coloured ones too!

I loved them too ~ and you know Gav WANTED to wear the bright pink because he hasn't seen any other grooms wearing it! :) It took me sooooooo long to get one though ~ I even bought material in case I had to make it myself...:scared1:
