The Happiest Day of Our Lives...

8Trax and Home to a Hangover...

So Gav and Michael joined us as we continued to boogie (and hobble) the night away. My heels are just enormous but comfortable ~ but try dancing for hours in them and they aren't as comfortable as you'd like... :laugh3:

I have NO idea what I was doing here, although I had drank 3 cocktails and 2 lemon drop martinis by this point. Not being a drinker at all for nearly 4 years, I was rather surprised how much energy I had!

I think I may have thought I was Michael Jackson...

I have no idea who took this ~ maybe it was that nasty security lady!

In a change from my Michael Jackson pose, I switched to my hero, John Travolta.

My best friend of 27 years. We became penfriends when I started school and my friend had a bunch of letters from children at an American school who wanted penfriends (remember we were five, we wrote like 5 words a time). As I was this child's best friend, I got to choose my own and I picked the letter that was in pretty coloured writing. We have written ever since. I visited her in 1986, she came in 1991 and we stayed with them in February. I love her dearly and I'm so thankful that I found such a reliable friend in her. We've literally grown up together, miles apart. I've been there for her and her nasty divorce, she's been there for me and my nasty times, and we've shared so much over the years. I can't imagine life without her. When we were little we would talk about our weddings and how we would be each other's bridesmaids ~ and I got to make my dream come true. This night was so special for me because we never got to go out dancing as teenagers or as young ladies in our twenties, and this was our chance! It was like living a dream.

I will never, ever forget this night.

This was the last photo I took at Pleasure Island before we returned to the Yacht Club ~ and it was Gav's favourite. I stopped taking photos then, realising that I would never, ever beat this shot...

You know, I looked at that photo last night and I thought the same thing myself ~ it must have been too many lemon drop martinis! (I never had those before!)

Back at the Yacht Club (Home Sweet Home)

We arrived back at the Yacht Club and stumbled our way to the room. We weren’t drunk and collapsing everywhere, we were just tired and delighted. I drank enough water to sink a small ship and Gav had one glass. Note here that I TOLD HIM to drink as much as he could handle. I was on the Rugby Team at University for many years ~ I KNOW drinking. I know hangovers too, and I am too old for them!

So, we opened the door to…

We were so tired and we knew we had to be up early for our rehearsal breakfast the next day. It was at this point I got “partygoers remorse” and wondered why on Earth I had a) drank so much and b) stayed out so late…

Zzzzz!

I am loving your report! i really want to stay in the yotel but we live so close to the airports that we probably never will!

I absolutley adore your idea of goofy treats as favours- i was sitting here thinking about our future disney wedding (not asked yet but im working on it) and wondering how im going to make such pretty favours for everyone and get them from over from the uk. this idea makes it really easy and more room for clothes and shoes!

you two are so cute together! can't wait to hear more

You are so cute! LOVE the baseball caps and balloons! :cloud9:

Thank you! I have many more bride-like accessories to come! :lovestruc

I loved the Goofy Treats ~ but they took a lot of planning because I had no idea how big they would be and so on. I loved them though, I dreamed them up for years...!

This is such a great TR! I can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes

Thank you ~ I'll update tonight!

August 4th, 2008 ~ Rehearsal Day!

The next morning we literally dragged ourselves out of bed despite my body telling me not to, and we showered, grabbed large dark glasses and headed to the Animal Kingdom for our rehearsal breakfast.

2008-08-04_075022.jpg

Our families were nearly all there waiting for us and we led the way into the Animal Kingdom.

Well, we arrive at the Tusker House and this was where we were due to meet our friends Steve and Sarah (I met Gav through working with Steve). They had flown out separately to everyone else and were staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. So we arrive and I check in and then they creep up on us, and we were all hugging and I was just on top of the World.

We all had the group photo (I’ll scan this later) and it was huge! All 22 of us! We went into the Tusker House and my family got split onto two tables. My sister said it was fine and not to worry, they would be happy behind us, and Gav sat by me with my parents, Steve and Sarah.

Do you like my parents’ t-shirts? Made by my mum, she is such a good sport. She loved them! Dad was particulary proud of his as it said "Disney Father of the Bride".

The meal was delicious! I would come back here in a heartbeat ~ they even had apple and raspberry turnovers!

The Characters Arrive!

...Anyway....back to the breakfast at the time, my sister’s family, bless them ~ all squished up!

Donald Duck arrived and the kids were up like rockets!

2008-08-04_090206.jpg

…and so were we! I think I looked remarkably awake, given the way my tummy was feeling. I nibbled at everything….*sob* You see that Gavin and I are wearing matching shirts from Australia Zoo ~ we were sent them as gifts! Anyway, on the reverse it says Gavin, Disney Groom and Sara-Jayne, Disney Bride!

The Case of the Missing Photo, and a nice chat with a Tusker House CM...

We had a fantastic time and I was so happy that my family were enjoying themselves. At the end of the meal I asked where the group photo was and if it was available for purchase and the server told us that the “other table” had said it wasn’t wanted!

The server kindly disappeared and said it would be about 15 minutes to get another one printed and I thanked him profusely. We had a nice chat about crocodiles and reptiles (and Gav rolled his eyes, ha ha) and the time passed quickly. In the meantime of course, the others had run off at top speed to follow HM. I checked that he had told them about the groomsmen fitting that afternoon and the actual rehearsal and he promised his dad would remember.

We took a few snaps on the way out…

Last night I came acrossed your TR and spent over a hour going through 11 pages....and now I'm hooked...you are doing such a great job the pics are great and looks like you had such a blast! Can't wait for the rest!

Congrats!!!

This is a great trip report, and you two are SO SO SO CUTE!!! You seem like the happiest couple! If you don't mind my asking, what type of camera did you bring on your trip? You have some great shots, really bright and crisp!

I can't wait to read more!

I really love reading this TR.......... I know I'm not having a WDW wedding, but this is kinda making me want one now!

I love this trip report. All of the pictures and your writing style really lets me get into it. I might be weird, but I love the random pics like the ones in the Yotel, out the plane window, the neat things all around Disney, and especially the food pics. The sushi looked fabulous. I guess I am a bit of an addict when it comes to sushi. When I saw it at 2 am it made me want it so badly I was trying to think of places that might be open that late on a Thursday night.:lmao: Cudos to you for trying the raw oysters. I haven't done that yet. Did you put any lemon or hot sauce on them to help them go down?
Please keep this trip report coming.
