The Handbasket Trio, 12/11! - Postponed 7/11

A fridge swap is where a fridge is stored in Luggage Services at Pop or the All-Stars and then shared with Dis users. You just have to sign up in advance. The Values don't have fridges in the rooms, so this alleviates the need to pay $15 a day for a fridge.

So someone on the DIS originally bought the fridge and then just leaves it there for the next person? How many of these are there? Very interesting!

So bizarre... Alison, I know I got a reply from you, since I got a notification, but it's not showing up at all :lmao:

Anyway, to answer your question, I'm not sure how many swaps there are, since most of the ones I've found are inactive because the fridge has been lost. But there are a few :) The one I signed up on also has a coffee pot, hamper, and (I think) a toaster.

ETA: Ah, there's your post :headache:

I hate when that happens, it's done that on a few of the game threads, the free association games and when my response shows up, it's totally off whack of the discussion! :lmao:

Yay for signing up for a fridge swap! :cool1: I could never live without a fridge in the room! When we stayed at ASMu I requested a fridge and of course, there wasn't one in our room, so I had to go be a jerk and complain, which I never like to do at Disney, but they brought me one! Wish I knew about fridge swaps back then! :)

I can, but I have a feeling that between the four of us, we'll want it. I didn't bother with one on my October trip, since I didn't see the point :lmao:

Catching up!

Sorry about the cancellation of the geek trip. But as you say...there is some other time, and it probably is best that Jacquie recovers rather than trying to push herself at the World.

Yay for the fridge swap. I didn't realise that the swap was different to the rental....good to know.

After discussing things with Molly and Cherry, we've decided to not only add a day to the trip, but shift the trip to a few days later, so that it's during the week, instead of over the weekend. This affects them more than me because Molly works a typical 9-5 Monday through Friday job and Cherry is trying to find a job with that schedule. My job, as some of you know, is completely insane with a rotating twelve hour schedule, so I'll actually only have to take two days off of work, unless we decide to drive, which means we'd have to leave the day before.

SO!

Now, our dates are December 5-9, 2011. We're still staying at Pop, and will also be staying in one room for financial reasons. It's also easier that way, since WDW is known for separating parties of adults and putting their rooms in different locations. The extra day is so that we won't stress ourselves out trying to do everything what we want to do, like the high tea at the GF.

We're not sure yet how we're going to be getting there. Airfare will be rather expensive, and the train is out, since that would take two days to get down and two days to get back. We're thinking about driving, but that would require either my buying a car (which I'm planning on doing at some point this year) or renting a car. If we drive, we'll have three drivers, so we can do it in one night.

Also, Cherry's son has absolutely no idea about the trip. I think he'll be 12 this year, but I'm not completely sure. Anyway, his birthday is in December, not long after the trip. For him, this will be his birthday and Christmas presents this year.

Today, I went to Target to buy a new pair of gym shoes for work and while trying to find my parents (they were in another section of the store), I wandered through the school and office section, since I've been looking for a Disney notebook for trip information and such while on the trip. I finally found one!

They had a few different cover styles (one was comics and there was another with Mickey), but I liked this one best. There was also a standard-size notebook that I liked, although it was spiral-bound and I didn't want that because I've had bad luck with spirals getting crushed and bent out of shape.

That's the page style.

So, that's what's going on with this trip so far. Our itinerary has changed a little bit, but I can't set it in stone until Disney releases the MVMCP dates.

I have the comic strip notebook!!!!

The other night, I decided to check out the Pop fridge swaps again and I finally found one that was not only still running, but had our dates available! So we're signed up on a fridge swap now! :yay: I don't think we'll use it for much other than drinks, but still, it'll come in handy.

We're also considering going to the spa at the GF, but I'm not sure if that's a definite plan yet. I've also just remembered about the mini-golf voucher that you get with the Magic Your Way package, so I'm gonna have to ask them about that :lmao: I don't know if we'll have the time, but if we do, I think that would be fun :)

I think that's everything for right now... We're still trying to figure out how we're getting there, but I think we'll wind up flying.

I want to get in on a fridge swap for my fall trip. I tried last year but it seemed like so many of them were closed!

I know I haven't updated this in a while, but there hasn't been much to update. I postponed my DLR trip for my birthday, since I'm changing jobs in the next two weeks, and have been trying to deal with that.

Anyway, today my mom and I went to the mall to go shopping and wound up in the Disney Store Outlet. I've done a little bit of trip shopping over the last couple months, and I wanted to show you guys the things I've bought :teeth:

They had this Disneyland clearance section for some reason and I found this and was like " MUST BUY" because that's my favorite ride. I know it says New Orleans Square, but I don't care :lmao:

I'd bought a Tron hoodie back in December, but it was way way over sized and the zipper also broke. So I bought this when I realized it was only $8.

These following shirts were all $7.

And I finally picked up a water bobble at Target sometime last month :)

These shirts I got from Torrid.

So... Yeah. :teeth:

I plan on making our reservation sometime in late April or May, once I've gotten settled at the new job. ADRs can be made in late May, I think, with the 180+10. Moving right along :)

Well, I asked you this on my TR, but what's going on with the job situation, you found a new one? I'd love to find a new job, preferably before the summer starts, but who knows if that will ever happen, there's just nothing around! :confused3

Love all the new Disney stuff! :thumbsup2

Okay. Officially jealous.

I love the HM bag and all the tshirts! Great pick-ups!

I completely missed that post :headache: But yes, I found a new one. The hospital job I'd applied and interviewed for last month called me back and offered it to me, so I start April 4 :) I'll PM you the site I've been recommending to everyone I know who's job hunting right now. It's fantastic and pulls jobs from tons of different sites.

I love it all, too! The stuff I got today was all under $50 (possibly cheaper, but I don't know what I did with the receipt), so it was a major deal. I'm also thrilled that I have my Tron hoodie in the right size. I'm keeping the too-big one, but just to wear at home. Since it was only $8, I couldn't pass it up, since I love that hoodie so much :lmao2: The two shirts I got from Torrid were about $20 each, I think... Not sure.

:lmao: If I'd known you would've liked the bag, I could've gotten you one and mailed it out to you! Unfortunately, I can't get up to Gurnee Mills on my own and by the time I can, they likely won't have any more of the bags. It's about 45 minutes outside of Chicago and the bus doesn't go there, so unless I have a ride, I can't go there.

But yeah, the shirts were an awesome deal. They had kids shirts for $3! We bought my niece a bunch of Easter presents :rotfl: The bag was only $15, marked down from (I think) $30.

So I found the receipt, and all the stuff I got at the Disney Store Outlet was $44. :yay:

I LOVE the stuff you bought! The Disney Outlet near my home never has anything cool like that! :headache: I am so jealous of your Haunted Mansion bag! I want one! :thumbsup2

I was really surprised by all the stuff they had! The ones here in the city never have a lot of stuff for adults, so it was nice to see :) I love that HM bag! :lovestruc:lovestruc
