After church and lunch today, a cloudy rain settled in and it probably rained 1.5-2.0 hours before clearing off. I got in a premium nap then started reading a new book.
Teamubr finally showed up this afternoon and expertly backed his 42 footer into his site - I know it's true because I was there.
It actually cleared up to be very nice and less humid this afternoon. Here's looking across the lake from my site towards the State Park Beach Pavilion:
For dinner this evening we were treated to a crawfish boil from Nic (thanks man) with 70# of mud bugs, potatoes, corn, sausage, mushrooms, even whole cloves of garlic all seasoned like a boil should be. Remember it's "pinch the tail and suck the heads". Ya'll help yourselves:
Here was my first helping (there were more to follow):
The spices do a slow burn on your taste buds and despite the adult beverage I had, I could feel the fire. To put it out, I downed some banana pudding expertly provided, I believe, by mrs. tiggerdad. It did the trick, I will say.
There was some nice conversation and a breeze after dinner. Some folks left to watch the sun set, later others were getting up to go chase crabs at night on the beach. There is a chance of overnight rain so we all took steps to bring in things, batten them down, and prepare "just in case".
I'm gonna sleep like a stump tonight.
